1998 Circuit of Ireland Rally

The second round of 1998 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship produced an all time classsic. As famous as it was contriversial, Austin McHale was eventually declared as the rally winner, lifiting the trophy nine days after the event finished, following a successful appeal of a time penalty issued by the stewards on the first day of the event.

The golden years, it was always a big event when the circuit was coming through the local area.

That was Austins last win on a round of the Tarmac Championship..he did win National Rallys and in UK ..he continued to compete until 2007...@paddy Sullivan VHS 📼 1990s Cork.
