The level of hospitality of the Coloreds is really admirable. These are some seriously nice people. Regardless of how much violence plagued their community. I really am impressed.
Really enjoyed this video, like any other. However, it was quite pleasant to see someone who is so keen and eager to learn about our coloured community in S.A. This is what the people (inlcuding South Africans), need to see.
You always seem to put the most sensible person as a lady at the end of the video. Happy that each video has the more serious person giving real views and not just the playful sideline comments.
He needs to come for a longer time to visit these coloured townships. From Western Cape Norhern Cape Eastern Cape. KwaZulu Natal Gauteng Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
If you get a chance to go to Cape Town to see the coloured communities there as well, you will come away with an experience and a half. My family is from the Belthorn surrounding areas. Growing up there gave me my "stripes" to succeed in life and made me street smart with various skills and social awareness. Living in Australia since 1988 but still miss the awesome South African vibe.
I could be wrong but it sounds like being a Coloured is a culture, it’s how you were raised. Trevor Noah is mixed race but he’s not coloured because he was not raised coloured, Tyla is mixed race and was raised coloured hence she identifies as coloured.
Id like to disagree with you there because the term coloured only came into existence in SA by the year 1950 where people in SA esp the mixed race ones were classified by the Apartheid Government as so called coloureds for the 1st time by means of The Population Registration Act of 1950. I wont get into details as to what the purpose of this act was but I can briefly say that it was to oppress the Africans Hierarchically with the so called whites on top of the structure followed by the so called coloureds, indians with Blacks right at the bottom (for obvious reasons) I personally dont think it has anything to do with culture. Historically i could be wrong But yea, thats my opinion
Coloured is a race exclusive to South Africa! No other country has that terminology, race and culture. Everyone else is termed as mixed race, except coloureds.
I'm a black guy and I've always dated colored women...such loyal, loving and down to earth women who don't take nonsense. Once you date a colored woman it's hard to switch to dating another race.

I was shocked after 1994 when Coloureds insisted on being separated from us. Only a few integrated into other communities. It's probably from inherited trauma, they didn't want to be associated with the worst-treated race. Even during apartheid, the European settlers told Coloureds were better than Blacks. It's a lot Jackson.
how do you choose? Some has indian , asian ,khoisan, african and some have white grandparents or parents. You cant choose 1 side of your family over the other.

You know what is being done, but you just don't wanna talk about it. Right? What you want to do is justify it to people like Coop and you want to bash Coloured people and paint them as r*cist so it can seem like they deserve whatever is being done to them. I see what you're doing. Maybe you have the wrong idea of what this documentary is about. It is about educating the outside world about Coloured people and their life experiences. Not about bashing Coloured people.

AA do not like the word coloured. That's why so many AA were mad at tyla for saying she was coloured. Also the term coloured was used in England,..but not anymore since it is seen as offensive. The racial system was started by white people to cause division amongst people and it's obviously worked well. The British introduced a similar system in India. Where light skinned Indians are seen as superior to dark skinned Indians.

Born on 3 March 1981, Malema was born and raised in the township of Seshego near Polokwane in the Transvaal, in the region now known as Limpopo. His family is Northern Sotho, and his mother was a domestic worker and a single parent. After his mother died, he was raised by his grandmother, who died in May 2019.

Try home cooked food like Vark beene, Potjiekos (stew), breyani and stuff like that if you really want to experience Coloured cuisine. No restaurant is ever going to serve you that. And for dessert you get boere which is like a sago pudding but with lasagne and noodles. Cuisine differs from regions you have alot to explore especially in the Cape but that's where you have to be extremely careful especially with places like the Cape Flats and Atlantis, however it is there you will find alot of traditional Cape Malay recipes passed down by the generations, even in the Karoo you are going to find lamb and ostrich dishes, in KZN you are more likely to find a strong Indian influence. Eastern Cape and Northern Cape also have their unique culture. Ask them to get you China fruit as well as tamerlitjies and tjoepas, Eldos is awesome but in Johannesburg try exploring Newclare and Westbury as soon as the shooting stops, there's also River Lea and Noordgesig.
That's what he is being denied in these videos, wholesome Coloured cuisine. We used to drive from my township for the Breyani, Lamb curry and stew. Nothing comes close to that hearty taste.
"As a Black African man, I appreciate the conversation about identity and the complexity of our shared history. Our connection to language and spirituality has often been broken by colonial influences, leaving us with less connection to our ancestral roots. While many of us share an African heritage, our connection to European legacies-whether through colonization or mixed heritage-complicates our sense of self. Spirituality takes many forms, but for many of us, it doesn't align with the image of Jesus as portrayed in Western Christianity. This disconnection from our past, combined with the dangers and isolation we’ve faced due to colonial history, continues to affect us today. The world often tries to define us with harmful stereotypes, but we know our stories are more complex and unique. It’s crucial to acknowledge that different parts of the Black community have had different experiences, especially when it comes to freedom and opportunities shaped by colonial histories and social structures. Understanding this diversity in experience can help us build a more inclusive dialogue around race, history, and identity. We must continue to reclaim our voices, redefine our identity, and understand our spirituality on our own terms."
Great doco. Be good if you went to Durban and interviewed the Durban Coloureds as its another experience altogether. Durban Coloureds have different accents, vibe, slang and our main language is English. Afrikaans is a language we learn in school but, we speak or choon(Durban Coloured slang) English. Alot of South Africans are shocked we dont speak Afrikaans. Zulu is also a language spoken by alot of Colourdes in Durban. I feel Durban Colourdes are overlooked alot nationally and internationally but they are many and an awesome bunch of humans. #ProudlyaDurbanColoured

Thanks for sharing this man I’m based in Camps Bay, Cape Town now and whenever I go visit my family & friends in Eldos it’s always awesome 🤩

One of the best documentaries I've ever watched. Initially, seeing that it was over 2 hours long, I didn't think I would watch it all. But I did. I'm a Kenyan, just in case you wanted to know where I'm from. Those Coloured (you Americans spell that word without the "u") folks? Much respect to them. Wonderful people!

Thanks for coming to eldos Mr Jackson and showing people eldos is such a great place.
💯
The level of hospitality of the Coloreds is really admirable. These are some seriously nice people. Regardless of how much violence plagued their community. I really am impressed.
I had some friends over here from Columbia, they could not get over how good Black Label beer is
Years ago we have friends from Norway ...bought them black label white faces went red all I heard was a black label is a foking nice beer 😂
Really enjoyed this video, like any other. However, it was quite pleasant to see someone who is so keen and eager to learn about our coloured community in S.A. This is what the people (inlcuding South Africans), need to see.
👍🏾
Keep up the good work brother.
South Africa is your country now buddy carry on the good work.
Educational, real-life content the world needs. Jackson you always dropping 🔥

You always seem to put the most sensible person as a lady at the end of the video. Happy that each video has the more serious person giving real views and not just the playful sideline comments.
I noticed that too. Maybe it's his way of getting you to watch until the end.
The two baddies at the end were🔥, nice video Jackson. Told ya man to mix it up with ya peeps. enjoy xmas yall.
He needs to come for a longer time to visit these coloured townships. From Western Cape Norhern Cape Eastern Cape. KwaZulu Natal Gauteng Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
Lol... bro tried linking up with the last two girls 😂😂 But this is dope
From Cape town.Be safe
Just love how raw and well put together this is, simple, straight to the point bru
💯
Praise God for the two ladies ❤❤❤ What a beautiful representation of Eldorado Park 🙏🏻
I could be wrong but it sounds like being a Coloured is a culture, it’s how you were raised. Trevor Noah is mixed race but he’s not coloured because he was not raised coloured, Tyla is mixed race and was raised coloured hence she identifies as coloured.
That's exactly right. Glad to see that you guys are finally starting to understand.
Trevor is colored.
Exactly this. My kids are mixed race, but did not grow up among coloureds so do not identify as part of that culture.
Id like to disagree with you there because the term coloured only came into existence in SA by the year 1950 where people in SA esp the mixed race ones were classified by the Apartheid Government as so called coloureds for the 1st time by means of The Population Registration Act of 1950. I wont get into details as to what the purpose of this act was but I can briefly say that it was to oppress the Africans Hierarchically with the so called whites on top of the structure followed by the so called coloureds, indians with Blacks right at the bottom (for obvious reasons)
I personally dont think it has anything to do with culture. Historically i could be wrong But yea, thats my opinion
Coloured is a race exclusive to South Africa! No other country has that terminology, race and culture. Everyone else is termed as mixed race, except coloureds.

I see that you are in Coloured people bashing mode. How convenient that you leave out the fact that Coloureds are discriminated against today, and it isn't white people who are doing it to them.
True we live in a part of freestate colourd and black here are quite intermingled. Move together families get along very well

When the ANC came into power they didnt remove the classification forms we still have to tick white, coloured , black or Indian. Stop misleading the people that comes from America.
Tell them the truth. The so called coloured people are being marginalized for the last 30 years when the ANC took power.Bee keeps the si called coloured unemployed they have this mentality that we were treated better than the blacks but it is not true. Please watch the video of Julius Malema on UA-cam 3 years ago where he admits that blacks are not from South Africa. They found the Khoi & San , the Nama ect in South Africa & Southern Africa here. The Khoi San is the oldest human race on earth. The white ancestors & black ancestors found our ancestors here. Please watch on you tube about Julius Malema _- backs are not from South Africa and I quote wwe found the Khoi & the San here & they welcome us here. The is a so called coloured lady a video made a few years before Malema where she told him that on the so called coloureds can talk about land because the white & black South Africans found our ancestors here & that is the reason the so called whites re - classified us as so called coloured to steal our land , our heritage , our language & our culture.please do research to find out more about the Khoi & & San , Nama & Griekwa we are the descendant of the khoi & San the Aboriginal people of SA & Southern S A. Africa as a whole is large & the Bantu races comes from different provinces in Africa not SA
In South American cities almost everyone is “coloured”

Love this. My grandparents and father are from Eldos. They really embodied the phrase "it takes a village to raise a kid" when I listen to their stories about Eldos. It's really sad what the community is going through right now, but with enough exposure through documentaries like this, I hope it brings more socio and economic support.
/this Mr. C is great, it allows the people to somehow create a brand avbout their place, thus they become ambassadors, Not only must these places be known about social ills. This elevates a new fresh positive way of looking at our Neiborhood's. Stay blessed. Mr. C

Thanks for the wonderful video. I love the positivity and connectedness. 😀
I agree with this, AA's are very similar to South African Coloureds. The mixed lineage, the behaviour and culture that was stolen or denied.
Hello Jackson yes I'm glad you saw for your self coloureds are not racist you get white brown black coloureds but you can hear when they speak its coloureds
Love your Cooper'scorner❤❤❤❤

Born on 3 March 1981, Malema was born and raised in the township of Seshego near Polokwane in the Transvaal, in the region now known as Limpopo. His family is Northern Sotho, and his mother was a domestic worker and a single parent. After his mother died, he was raised by his grandmother, who died in May 2019.
thank you. I don't understand where the lie about him being Zimbabwean comes from. I knew him from his high school days- he schooled with my cousin sister in Seshego zone 1
it was intriguing to watch how that Madala just spewed out Malema 's name out of nowhere.i think its been very hard for some of the old ones to accept the new reality after apartheid.

This is arguably the most helpful comment so far. I hope Coop sees it ❤
I just tried googling vark beene and tjoepas and I came up blank. So that means we all have much to learn about coloured culture

Great documentary, you should do Cape Town next
Thank you for capturing this content.
