It was a short comedy series where they were pretending teaching an Indian call centre to speak Australian. Sends our language up beautifully. We loved it.
Cheeky has a few different meaning... 'amusingly disrespectful', 'mischievious', 'a little self indulgent'. This is a great little series, there are 8 short episodes. No idea why any aussie would be offended by this.
@@TheCommodity In fact it's a sign of friendship - the blunter or harsher you are, the better the friend. It's why swearing is so common here. BTW if you're someone who constantly takes the piss, you identify as a shit-stirrer.
I'm Australian and there's no offense with this for Australian culture. We're like England - part of our humour is laughing at ourselves. This is hilarious! If you want to see more of Australians laughing at ourselves, you should watch "The Castle" and "Bran Nue Dae", both of these movies were made with the express purpose of laughing at ourselves. Other series like "Kath n' Kim", "Upper Middle Bogan", "Please Love Me" and too many more to name... There are countless series made with the express purpose of laughing at ourselves. PS: "cheeky" isn't a bad word at all. Perhaps 100 years ago, but now the word is pretty much always used with a kind of "loveable rogue" sense of humour.
Get onto Hamish & Andy. Two funny dudes. They did a ‘gap year’ in the US so that’s a good place to start. Also check out their cultural eating segments.
Watch all of them, they are all full of belly-laughs. You should also check out Russell Coight (fun fact, 'coight' is Australian slang for buthole). Think, crocodile hunter - gone wrong.
Cheeky has MANY meanings. If you’re calling a kid “cheeky”, it means that they are being a smartarse and talking back to you. But sometimes it can also mean they are doing it in a really cute way. Cheeky can also mean something small.... kinda. You can have a “cheeky drink”, usually girls will have a “cheeky drink” on a night out when they know they shouldn’t have one, but their friend talks them into it.... gotta love peer pressure. Also, 1988 was our Bicentennial 😁
The 'how dangerous/deadly' series on ABC SCIENCE. Is fantastic, I especially recommend the ones about kangaroos, koalas and the huntsman spider. Love the presenters style in these vids. Also 25 things that only happen in Australia by Bright Side is 90% correct, pretty good for a non-aussie produced vid. And perhaps the Van Vuuren Bros songs about birds and the deadliest animals, very funny.
cheeky, means a lil flirty and fun.. "He is being cheeky (by saying that)." "Dont be cheeky" (said to a kid giving a bit of lip back to an adult).. a rude joke/innuendo "Thats a bit cheeky"..
Cheeky- can mean to be in a fun way:impish, naughty, rogue-like, sexy a cheeky smile could be sexy or just slightly naughty. it can also seriously mean someone who is impertinent or rude. To give cheek is to be absolutely rude. there are shades of being cheeky.
Glad you like it a lot of good slang words we actually use there. Also have a look at the Birdsville races it’s in the actual outback 60mins did a good story of it that i watched.
Russell Coight, Paul Hogan show and some comedy shows like the comedy company, also some ads from Toyota’s bugga ad, carltons big ad, bonds sic em Rex. Aussie’s love to poke fun at themselves. 😁
This is an Australian show an about a Indian call centre and how they learn Australian to work in the call centre but the staff do really know what they are talking about when they are teaching. A lot of big companies used to hire Indian call centres. Not it's thailand or the Philippines.
Got it in one . All Australians talk with an Indian accent. This series is hilarious and for your information no one but no one can take the piss out of us Aussies like we ourselves can . The funny thing is that there actually are call centre schools in India who try to teach Indians how to speak with an Aussie accent , you blokes in the U S must get the same scam phone calls like we do where someone with a heavy indian accent and a name like Susan or Bruce will try and run a scam on you . Also FYI we call boomerangs that don't come back , sticks .
"Cheeky" basically means irreverent or smart-assy. Sarcastic. "Cheeky bastard", "Stop being cheeky", etc etc. Basically, not being serious and screwing around.
As an Aussie I love these guys. Pretty sure they are all Aussies too. Taking the piss. Miss Shiva is definitely Aussie cos you can hear her breaking her Indian accent and sounding Aussie.
React to Aussiest interview ever what a legend. And of course one of Australias most gangster chopper reid! And of the real chopper reid interviews or even teact to the movie that was made of his life played by ERIC BANNER called CHOPPER! Awesome!
G'day you cheeky buggers 👍 Your vids are a ripper to watch. Bloody hell mate fancy putting the flag upside down. Sheep shaggers are Kiwis from New Zealand lol Anyway yous have a tough day and then go down to the local for a coldy 🍺 Ave a good one 😘
The best thing about us Aussie we love taking the Micky out of everyone and love it when people do the same to us. Stuff political correctness and just every one have a laugh.
Great stuff. Yeah for sure go for the others in the series. They're hilarious. 2nd and 3rd including BBQ and birds are classics. Cheeky has plenty of meanings but usually it's having a go at someone you know. Spin some spicy words on them. Can even be flirty. Skippy was a TV series in the 60's. Shown in the UK but don't think elsewhere.
It ok to talk to the Punjabi here in Australia they do take a joke trust me it’s absolute crack trying to teach them the slang as I have a couple of Punjabi friends who have a trucking company and absolute laugh all day long we now have a joke about when there’s been a bit of an incident the Is always done by the person name Raj and a nickname now that has been put out because they talk fast their nickname now here in Australia is put put Ting Ting and yes Sandhu laugh and now when I see them on the road I get a word coming across to see over the CB radio they put put Ting Ting comes across the airways it’s absolutely crack because now they getting the joke and playing with the joke they can serve us up all day long I just laugh at it
LOL...cheeky is an innocent term. It just means naughty/disrespectful in a fun way! AND this video is VERY VERY OLD...AND not very accurate. We don't say a lot of those terms. Sheep shaggers are what we call New Zealander's...Knockers means BREASTS....Galoot is a term for an idiot & yes we say aresewipe..wacker NO. Spewing means pissed off & UP THE DUFF is to be pregnant...Always keep in mind that aussies are very laid back & we take the piss out of each other just as much as we do other countries...
A great old Australian movie about Oz speech is ‘They’re a Weird Mob’. about a Italian that comes to Australia & try’s to understand the sayings .. piece of piss for a couple of Seppo’s like you blokes.. (Seppo as in a American .. not derogatory).
Just to be clear, this is an Australian production written by Aussie writers, it's not an Indian produced comedy skit as you think.
And Russel Coights All Aussie Adventures, an absolute classic show down under

Australian's don't care if people mock them and take the piss, we take the piss out of each other all the time and think its hilarious
I can respect that!
