@@phf4993Poorly? No. I disagree with some points, but Vergil is overall better written than Dante and more fascinating as a character from the things he had to go through. He's a tragic character who ultimately made Dante a tragic character as well, despite not even being a hero after doing plenty wrong. Also, this is all pretty much subjective and popularly Vergil is considered to be better written.

And the answer is actually no. Dante will not chase power. Vergil is not the only one Traumatized. He was passed from one foster care to another and lived alone afterwards but he remained a good person. He acknowledged his human blood and while he was scornful of his demon blood at first, he eventually accepted it. He has every right to claim whatever their father left of them as much as Vergil but he never does unless it's necessary because he's not power hungry. He's only hungry for pizza.

Dante has both Depth and backstory. Dante grew up, accepted responsibilities, coped with his depression, became a better person, gained friends and allies, paid for another man's child support, paid for his own place and his bills despite being delayed, became a father figure for Nero, and kept an attitude that brought smiles to people. Vergil peaked in Highschool and got stranded in that era. He's an edgelord only defined by his sword and traumas. He would opt to kill millions just so he can get back from his Lose streak from his twin brother who only wanted to make an honest living. Seriously, Vergil fans are people who refuse to grow up. Vergil never became more than a "rival of Dante". Without Dante his story is just him trying to get more power and that's it.

thats the thing, when vergil was abandoned to fight for himself, the only thing that protected him was his demonic heritage, thats why he embraced it so much, and embracing that side, he left his humanity and compassion behind as he saw it as being vulnurable, it would take his polar opposite twin, dante, to stand up against his rampage and show that power could be obtained either way, vergil never learnt to accept his humainty, but rather questioned his path and refect on what he really did with his whole life, and their final fight, whoever came out on top, would not only prove to be stronger, but would also have the "correct ideal", without dante, there was no vergil, and with no vergil there was no dante

There's no Mundus to kill. No argosaux or savior to exterminate. Vergil's inferiority complex just drove him to do all these just to prove himself the better man. But he ultimately failed. Vergil still hasn't grown up. He can't even face his son properly and would be too prideful to apologize. Vergil might have been a major part of Dante but ever since DMC 3 Dante has proven multiple times how he is the better person by being able to forgive Vergil time and again. Stop romanticizing a man who failed to accomplish anything good and he has no right to claim any credit for Dante's growth if all he did most of the time is hurt him while Dante always tries to see the good in a person. Vergil is nothing without Dante. But Dante without Vergil wouldn't be depressed in DMC 1, he wouldn't "Cry" in DMC 3. And he wouldn't go all the way up to Qlipoth tree just to beat Urizen because he doesn't want Nero to commit patricide. It's like saying that the abandoned children owe it to the parents who abandoned them that made them stronger and tougher. When in fact they could've owned their mistakes and apologized. But Vergil even dared to cut Dante's hands when Dante tried to save him. Vergil is corrupted by power. Only through being V he understood some portion of humanity because he was able to witness Dante and Nero work together to save people.

Hypocrisy at its finest got slapped by half of Vergil for 72 hours straight with his donkey human form. Dante didnt even cared to even acknowledge his own father straight up saying i dont have a father to vergil in DMC 3. What are u yapping about it. Dante never cared for humans until he met lady in DMC 3 be said so himself. All Dante does is cringy things. When people are dying he is moonwalking with a hat he got from Nico. Shush now please

I feel like in their final fight in DMC 5 when one smiled at the other and vice versa, they were just happy to see each other. despite the the hate they have for each other, neither wants the other to truly die. they both had a hell of a joureny but at the end the more they hate each other the more they love each other. dante losing everyone he cares for including Vergil and just act like he doesnt care so demon would use it to their advanage. Vergil feeling left abandon and hurt goes on his conquest to become more powerful because he feels that power is the only thing that wouldn't abandon him and nothing would be able to hurt him again. at the end of it all. I think they realised that they only have each other + Nero i guess.
So inconlusion I say this video is CAP, they both are egual in my eyes- sorry

Dante just wanted to see his brother again after the over 20 years since he had last seen him. Though he might not show it, the extroverted and invasive heart of his youth is still there.

I personally think they are both very in depth when it comes to how they’re written and what they went through, however I personally think Dante is more developed and fleshed out compared to Vergil. The DMC1 novel and the anime go more in depth with Dante’s time as Tony Redgrave, in the anime they have Dante make a kind of connection with his clients when he takes jobs (e.g Patty, Ernest etc.) he made so many allies and acquaintances however he lost connections to some people along the way, this includes Nell Goldstein and Vergil himself. In the time between DMC3-DMC4 I believe Dante was saddened and kinda depressed when Vergil left in DMC3 and when he thought Vergil was gone for good when he defeated him as Nelo Angelo, you could see how depressed and dull he seemed in the anime and DMC2 then when Nero came into the picture he was a bit more joyful as usual.

they both win because they bounce off each other so well, vergil is the cool composed stoic quick killer, he doesn't waste any time killing you. dante is the opposite, he will dance during your fight with him and still beat the everliving shit out of you but hes also down to earth when he needs to be

Dmc3 for Dante awakening to his human and demon side but Dmc5 for Vergil awakening to his human half and demon half, that's amazing now that I think about it

as much as i love Vergil i have to give backstory to Dante, both brothers suffers in different way
while little Vergil lost his family his suffering is more to physical: stab and jab left to die and in his teen turn into Nelo Angelo.
while Dante is more to emotional: losing his family losing another mother that raised him in orphanage, losing his brother again (dmc3), losing his demon hunting partner Grue and killing his daugher to end her pain took the blame, losing another mother Neil Goldstein, losing his brother again (dmc1) losing his bestfriend faith in him and took the blame
Ironically they did this same thing to Nero in 5, a word from *Champion analysis* : Vergil hurt his ego physically while Dante hurt his ego emotionally

in my opinion, Dante's writing. A broken man left on his own, not being able to do anything about it but to face it with laughter as a way to hide his pain.
Losing everything since the very young age, a home, a brother, a family. But as days goes on, he understand that maybe all things didn't have to go right in life, it's about doing what's the best you could.

Introduction should be dante. The first time dante made his appearance : Got stabbed in the heart and shrugged it off like a real man, ultimately defeating nelo and mundus.

Disagree with two things, Dante is a highly complex and well-developed character than Vergil. Throughout the games, Dante's character is explored and developed, revealing layers of his personality, dan his past. His a highly complex individual with a deep sense of commitment, honor, and a strong desire to protect the innocent from supernatural threats. Dante really shown his great growth from the first dmc 3 until now dmc5, but as the story progresses, we would be able to see a more vulnerable and emotional side to him. Even thought Vergil is rarely shown in the whole game, he's edgy personality and his appereance are just much more cooler.
