Johnny 34 he averaged over 22 the year he died. He was getting better too. He shot 45% from 3 point line. I believe in today’s game he’d easily average 30 with as many 3’s he’s get to shoot
Batman he had zero speed. He got the absolute most out of the body he had. Players are stronger and quicker now. Today’s long athletic players could close out on that shot, and prevent him from getting to the basket. He was a real good scorer, he wasn’t 30 per game. He didn’t average 24, it was 22. He was 28 years old so clearly he wasn’t getting better. He found his niche as a low 20’s scorer and a great shooter. He couldn’t do half the stuff Steph does with the ball, so I can’t put him in that category
Johnny 34 lol you’re wrong. Reggie Miller said he had the quickest release ever. Quicker than Curry’s. There’s no hand checking now. He’d get his shot off just fine.
Batman doesn’t matter what Reggie said. #1. You can see the video for yourself to understand Currys is quicker. If that doesn’t matter to you, it’s already a fact Curry has the quickest release in history. I’ll take measured facts over a players opinion any day. #2. Handchecking is literally the most overrated thing ever. It never bothered the good players, it bothered the weak. Handchecking started in 92 with the Knicks, was banned in 94, and the stats of the star players didn’t go down then up during and after its use. Drazen was a low 20’s scorer. That was his niche. There is zero evidence to say he was elite enough to score 30. He didn’t do it then, and there is no evidence he’d do it now. He was really slow and the game is so much faster now, he might average 18 in this era. To say he’d average 30 means you’re putting him in Curry and KD territory. C’mon that’s ridiculous
