We traveled from Canberra to Thredbo as a family and stayed in the amazing Alpenhorn Lodge in the heart of Thredbo Village. This is amazing as an activity for kids! Wow! you guys were so lucky to get there when there was such little snow, and then the next day get so much real snow!! I didn't think we were going to see the snow but I kept watching and there it was!! Thanks for the tips, I can't wait to take my family there... how much was it to get into the park? and was the chair lift worth it? and how was the coffee at the cafe up the mountain? tnx

To answer your questions - It was $17 per vehicle per day when we went (low season) but from June to October it is $29 per vehicle per day (and the inspectors check all the cars all the time!!
The chair lift was definitely worth it but make sure you are rugged up! Family pass is the best option.
Coffee at the top was delicious (and the hot chips!!)
Dam I dint get any snow at all but of course its gonna snow the day after we leave

Amazing experience! When I went there was definitely not that much snow. And Alpenhorn lodge looks like the perfect pace to stay for a family or a group of friends! Tell me there is a fire place there??!!
There certainly is a fireplace! in fact, a few of them... they have a nice cozy lounge area downstairs as you enter. We sat down there at the end of the day around the fire and it was amazing.

Awesome video. Loved it. I am going to thredbo next week first time with my 6 year old son staying in jindabyne. Just want to know the cost of chair lift as we are not interested to do ski. From where we can get the tickets for this non skiers chair lift. Is it run from the friday flat? What are the other activities we can do with the kids? Thanks
Hi Aditya Vats, thanks for watching! Staying in Jindabyne will be great and its about 20-30 min drive from there. The cost of the chair lift when we were there was a lot cheaper because it was pre season. We got a family pass for about $78. Checking the Thredbo website again tonight I can not see this option any more, with only full day or part day ski lift passes that are about $135 for an adult and $71 for kids under 6. I would recommend you call them on 1300 020 589 tomorrow to see if you can get the lift pass for just a ride. There is an office located in the main area of Thredbo, which is not the Friday Flat area. You will be able to follow the signs once you drive in and look for the Thredbo Village area. There is designated parking in Thredbo and once you drive around to see where everything is, find a place to park and then you will have to walk around from there. Since you are going to the snow, the best fun is just playing in the snow, but you will get cold and wet eventually. Make sure you have enough warm clothes, and layers of clothes. Also bring several spare clothes so you can wear something dry and warm when finished. If you catch the chair lift up the restaurant at the top is great for food and drinks! There is a park as you also would have seen in the video. There is also an indoor area, with a heap of other activities that you can do if you get sick of the snow. Is thredbo possible snowing in oct-nov?
hi! thanks for watching... The official ski season closes around 7 Oct 19 and most of the snow will start melting from mid to late September. It will probably not be snowing in Oct, and definitely not in November. Hope this helps! Please hit subscribe if you can to support our channel!
