I too have watched several how to videos on this and yours is the best illustration and I like that you used a contrasting colour so I could see what your really doing. I've been knitting off and on for my whole life and saying purl and knit working the darning needle makes it harder for me to understand. Actually seeing how the stich is formed while you are doing it is the best for me.. Thank you

I have looked at several Kitchener stitch tutorials, but I must say this one explains the kitchener stitch the best ever. I have made my first pair of socks and they have been on my needles for at least two weeks because I couldn't get the kitchener stitch correct. I am excited that I finally get to finish them. By far the clearest explanation I've found anywhere. I appreciate a how-to video that is clear and concise and with no lengthy pre-amble of the person's entire life story. I sat through a lot of poor videos on this technique to find this gem. Not only the clearest explanation but the most easy to do and remember technique, cutting out unnecessary steps. Professional and non distracting, too. I sat through several of these where the presenters seemed self defensive and hectoring in tone or with annoying mannerisms. When I turn to UA-cam for a how to, I appreciate it being calm, straight to the point, and not full of someone speaking with an irritating rising intonation or who seems stressed by doing the technique. This is the only one I have found that did just that. Thanks.

Wow this is so much easier to understand! You go in the first set and remove the next stitch Purl wise then you go to the second set and remove the second stitch knit wise then the last 2 stitches are removed Purl wise. Thank you Maryna for this great tutorial 🥰

I wanted to do Kitchener to join a shoulder and for some stupid reason went looking for videos. It was FAR too complicated and as I was about to give up I though, "Hang on, why didn't you look at 10rowsaday??". That's not complicated at all. But having watched it, I found the Russian bind off and think that may be even better. As a teacher I appreciate good teaching and you truly have a gift. Thank you.

Perfectly explained, and with excellent photography. I knew how to Kitchener stitch two pieces of knitting that were attached to waste knitting, but only from the purl side. Now, I understand how to do it on the knit side. Thanks!

I think I finally understand how to do this. I've saved to favorites so next time I need it I will watch again before attempting. I may even attempt first with a couple of swatches. I just tried using the kitchener/grafting stitch on some baby overalls after reading and watching a couple of videos on it and while I have the five stitches on the bottom is seamed together, I could have down better. Next time I will do better after watching this video. You did a very good job at explaining and showing visually how the stitch is done. Thank you. *:)

I know I'm going to be dumb at this stitch so I prepare myself 4 or 5 tutorial and this one is just visually makes me feel easier and it's so well explained! I think this one is using a slightly different way to do kitchener stitch and this small different change a lot it's really just feel easier... And also as this video said you can adjust the tightness while seeing it, there are other tutorials that don't slip the stich off when the needle first go in to one stitch so you can't see it as clear as this video taught. I just finish seaming my first knitting hat and it's perfect, I never thought I can make it perfect at the first time I can't even find the seaming myself 🥺 thank you so much for making this tutorial

I am currently making a cowl in garter stitch and this would be a brilliant way to finish off.
Hi Esther. Yes, you can use Kitchener stitch to join fabric made in garter stitch. For best results, make sure you have a line of purls at the very edge of each side of the cowl. Kitchener stitch will form a line of knits and the seam will be absolutely invisible. Happy seaming :-)
