I never gave Britney credit for handling stupid questions during press conferences with such grace.
Or just too many questions in general. Everybody needs some privacy to function well.
It's so sad because I know I was young and seeing people ask these questions. So many viewers being primed to think that this was normal for women to be asked.
Britney is our generation’s Judy Garland. I hope this vicious cycle of celebrity stops because it’s completely dehumanizing and immoral. Love you Britney ❤
Yes, but the difference is that Judy Garland was simply less fortunate. Britney Spears lives to tall her tale.
Judy Garland was even robbed during her last Oscar nomination because Hollywood machine, which drugged and abused her for years, was ready to replace her with Grace Kelly (who later quit acting to become Princess of Monaco) who fit their idealized version of a Hollywood leading lady.
@@RossBaby91 i see the similarities , yup, wouldnt be surprised if Brit is the reincarnation of Marilyn, if you believe in that kinda thing
The grossest thing to me about the obsession with Brittney now is that people are saying she shouldn't have had her conservatorship lifted because she's made some unhinged posts recently. She's traumatized, she's never been able to live her life freely, leave her alone.
Yes, people who don't know how wrong the Conservatorship was and now have unrealistic expectations of her. She is trying to heal her soul and discover who she really is and what she wants as a free woman. 💗
Definitely. I am really glad I read her book, because while i was glad she had her conservatorship lifted, I was still worried for her because of her really strange posts. Then I learned in the book that not only was she forced into a conservatorship run by her ab*sive dad (that was ab*sive to her, her mom, and her brother when she was a child), but she was shoved into a mental facility against her will and forced to take *lithium.* On top of that, during the entirety of the conservatorship, she was forced to take prescription pills in front of people and *she had no idea what they were.*
Her brain is genuinely scrambled and it's in no way her fault. So she's gonna be making strange posts and act a little wild as she tries to find her footing again, especially given her current turmoil with her divorce. I hope this book coming out will let her heal, she needs it badly.
@@beckyweiss6072literally! Also if anything she deserves to have a fun time rn even as an adult, shes an amazing person and survivor
Ikr, also more sinisterly the "unhinged" posts r literally just her dancing staring at the camera so it just shows how people just wants her to get out of the conservatorship and immediately go back to being the doll they once knew her as
Not to mention she didn't have the opportunity to learn how Instagram works along with the rest of us - who hasn't posted cringe photos and videos circa 2012 when IG was new? This is all new to her, let her be.
Diane Sawyer owes her a big apology. I saw this interview when it aired not knowing much about Britney and was shocked at how she was treated by Sawyer.
Yes, even in the hostile towards women early 2000ends, Sawyer really showed the world what a shitty person she truly was/is witht that interwiev.
Yeah, the bias in the interview. It makes you as a viewer more likely to see Britney in a negative light
The way she CORNERED her pisses me off. Like wtf do you want Britney to do, lady?? Make her hate herself??
I remember how in the 00s the media really painted her as a total bimbo. It's shocking to watch back some of these interviews decades later and see how well spoken, articulate, gracious, and diplomatic she often was under extremely hostile scrutiny. It's impressive when you remember how young she was at the time. Britney seems like a genuine and good-hearted person with normal flaws who didn't want to play "the game" anymore once she saw it for what it was. Those are the people who get dragged. Especially women. The fact that she is still with us is a testament to how strong she really is. I don't know that I would have made it out alive. Love and RESPECT you, Britney!
Britney Spears was torn apart by the dirty politics of Hollywood (Hellweed).
I'm glad that Britney is finally telling her side of the story. It turns out that "Lucky" was more true to life than we initially realised.
Her that she did lucky is not just as many people think, that she just thought to do something discussing what could happen to her in the future .... It's because she is a divined woman where she and her story is an example for strong unique women winning in this world against hardships no one can stand or get over
I hope people are waking up how shitty the entire media and society was to her. She was a child through a lot of it. Also, the criticism from women wreaks of jealousy. And yes Justin is a massive asshole for what happened to her and Janet.
For Britney, oh yeah, but Janet only half so. The wardrobe malfunction was not his fault, nor was the subsequent backlash Janet received. Where he WAS the Ahole though, was staying silent about it and not defending her for years.
What did he do to Janet?
I understand cheating on Britney was shitey. But why do people keep bringing up Janet. It was an accident. Society went after her not him.
@lynnevetter People mostly criticise him for not standing up for her- not necessarily for the act itself. Most people know that wasn't his fault.
The entire system is corrupt and exploitative. Brittany didn’t have the support she needed growing up. It always felt gross that her father was her manager and how sexualized she was. Her family were leaches. I wonder how Brittany would be perceived had she had the support from her family.
Yes it was the media and entertainment but truth is her parents should’ve been protecting her but the where the sharks throwing her out to get eaten by other sharks
There’s nothing stronger than a broken person that rebuilds herself
Its the way she was treated by media and her family that angers me. I've watched some of her interviews and I always noticed that she is so sweet and never gets mad or loses her temper when being asked wild questions like this one time where she's still a teen and on a show is asked about her br3asts. She was flustered but only smiled. Like it grossed me out. If i was her I would've snapped. Nice people always are treated badly by everyone.
Correct. Lots of people don't like it when you're nice, they will take advantage. I learned the hard way. People suck.
You don't have to be a Britney fan to want for her to have her own autonomy. She is a human being yet was not even allowed to make the simplest of decisions for herself.
There are celebs who blow all their money and end up broke.......yet all she is doing is dancing around on Instagram and people want to take her freedom again. I don't understand why they can't just let this woman be who she wants.
She never had dementia which is how they were able to get her into the conservatorship yet she toured, released multiple albums, did a TV show, had a Vegas residency......a person with dementia would not have been able to do any of that.
Bottom line: If you don't like what she does or says, just don't watch. Just let her live her life. And I sincerely hope she can now get to do just that!
Thank you and yes! Let her live her life as she discovers who she really is and what she wants as a free woman. 💗
Any other influences creates content that's considered abnormal or extreme nobody cares, but when is a celeb they should be "locked away in a c-ship" let people live their life and create the content they want. Britney said she finally has control and doesn't want to look perfect all the time like she had to before.
True, but it is kind of frightening that people are buying her version of events at face value when she isn't exactly of sound mind from the clips she herself shares on Instagram.
She better hope they all come out super defensive like Timberlake because his defensiveness actually made her seem more believable.
@@Aaron-kj8dv Even celebs who make picture perfect content could be lying or not of 'sound mind' so obviously any story can't be taken as fact - it's just their experience. I admire her for the first time being able to speak about her truth about fame, relationships and family after 13 years in silence. So many people want to silence her so i'm so happy she gets to speak her about experience!
the way Britney was interviewed about her V card and her breasts....... over and over... it's just devastating how media was to her 😭
I could not believe how much of her money they took. Britney used to be worth a quarter of a billion dollars at the height of her career. I could not believe when I saw how much of her assets were depleted. All that hard work! I hope she buys a farm somewhere and lives a quiet life !
She was worth $560 million at the time her dad took over. He robbed her blind.
It’s horrible what Britney had to go through. 😢
diane sawyer owes britney a fcking apology.
saw some other interviews she did in the late 90s/early 2000s. she really seems to have it out for young women
@@JuiciferPandoraRexDiane Sawyer is bitterly jealous of women who are younger and better-looking than her.
Isn't it interesting how all those "concerned" media outlets were never concerned about how her several-time bankrupt father handled her money?
It broke my heart when she talked about her desk with the bowl of receipts on it, where she was writing off business expenses.
And her dad cleared it for and said “I am Britney Spears.”
I think it was a valid point that even when she was at her worst, she was managing her life enough to record business expenses.
I would have liked to have seen what she chose to do with her life, if she had the choice.
“I’m mrs Extra! Extra! This just in!” That’s them and she even calls it. It’s disgusting , f the media
Glad she’s telling her side of the story
I just finished the audio book today. I was a HUGE Britney fan back then, and I suffered so much reading her book because it brought me back to those terrible years and I remembered how me and other fans were crying and suffering for her portrayal in the media, her custody battle etc. Imagine how tough it was for her to write about it. I hope she finds all the happiness she deserves, and that she gets her happy ever after.
Huge Kudos for the people behind the free Britney movement!
There should be criminal charges against her father.
I wonder if Mrs Lynn Spears will pass away next. She’s also a Dirtbag too.
Anyone heard "We all failed her"? Because I didn't fail her, I was like ten. But her family, her boyfriend and husband, the paparazzi and Diane Sawyer? They definitely failed her.
Feel free to add.
As a grown woman, I can’t imagine sitting down to humiliate such a young lady. Diane Sawyer is pure trash.
I didn’t fail her. Her family and the industry she works in failed her
I feel like awareness of the destructive way the entertainment industry exploits & damages young people (young women in particular) has grown since Britney's youth, but that there's definitely still a LOT of progress to be made in this space?
If you look at the way the media & paparazzi talk about current stars like Taylor Swift or Doja Cat, it's pretty clear we still have a fair ways to go 😬
Got my copy the other day. Glad she is trying to take back control of her life. Cannot wait to read it on my vacation next week.
I have huge respect for Britney Spears. She sought out help to be a better parent than hers are, while still being trapped in their abuse. I remember this video, where she asked her son, if he wants to go to a caretaker for the moment because the photographers got too much for him.
The media is so used to bullying her, that they are unable to give her credit where it's due. I hope all the best for her and that she finds new love in her passion for music and dance, now that she can express herself freely. She really is a fighter and deserves respect for enduring all of this.
I’m not a Britney Stan per se, but there is no doubt her father was toxic AF
Britney has been criticized and demonized by the mainstream media for so long. It's pretty clear that she has gained her full autonomy just by the excerpts in that memoir. If anything, I'm glad she's getting her long-awaited due to speak.
Love the ending of this video. I think what’s positive about this Britney saga is seeing a lot of people wanting or hoping her to rise above all the terrible people and things that surrounded her throughout her life. You got this, Brit!
Once I heard her tell someone who said they were homeless, “it’s better to be homeless than to be me.” That stuck with me all these years. I felt bad for her ever since then.
she was so close to perfect that the world expected her to be, getting outraged when she wasn’t. she has been an inspiration and in my mind: she really is perfect. love you brit ❤
What about Kevin Federline?!! That guy is absolute trash and took away her kids. The book was definitely an eye opener and her family were horrible.
I think this was more evident, from the start, it was obvious he was bad news so the fact that she corroborated this was not as surprising as the stories from JT.
He's not trash, he's the non-star mistake that makes her a star. He should have just said he was with her because he always likes hot chicks. Her kids probably tried loving her, so she accidentally was guilty of being too good for them. That's why she spent her holidays with Justin's family, instead of her own. Someone should take away her kids, and give them to a couple who cares about people.
He never "took away her kids". She unfortunately LOST her children, due to her behavior at the time (which included blowing off custody hearings, as she was too busy partying)
i knew in 2007, everyone's judgement and misogyny will be held accountable one day. i wish britney nothing but the best then and now
The media around that time was sickening to her and by proxy, all women. It made me feel terrible for her and our culture
Love how well this video was put together. I love that you have shed light on the issue without putting Britney down like a lot of channels do. 🥰☺️
You did a wonderful job putting this together for us and for Britney. Thank you!
I am so happy she finally spoke. Good for her. I always found Justin so cocky and snobbish. Jessica must be suffering in silence.
Behind that bubbly personality she was hurting. It’s always the ones that makes people laugh or always smiling are the ones who is suffering.
I remember South Park had one of the few empathetic takes on Britney when everyone ripped into her after the Gimme More performance.
Emphathetic? They had Britney attempt suicide and then she was left with half her head blown off for the rest of the episode. She was the butt of a very gory joke like they do everyone else.
They used dark humor to get the point across that society was being awful to her. When they had her perform with her head blown off perfectly demonstrated how badly she was treated. “We don’t care you’re dead, we’ll STILL make money off your body!”
@@Barbinheimer-ke6fl Are you not a South Park fan because if you think Matt and Trey cared one iota about they way Britney was being treated you are definitely reading too much into things and giving them way too much credit. I assure you that they despise most celebrities and they were ridiculing her point blank period.
@@kamicajones6917 South Park used to be my LIFE! I actually was a fan. I doted on the boys. Needless to say I was never a Britney fan but an Eminem fan before I became a South Park fan. 😊Now I can relate to Britney a lot, too but could not when she was a star.
@@Pangaea.Proxima I loved South Park too I even watch the new seasons purely out of dedication, I’ve been watching since the pilot episode. There have been some really funny episodes over the years, in the last three seasons not so much.
Honestly I've been so happy to see her come back and take control of her narrative and her life. I grew up with her name all over the headlines and her music on every station, and even went through the phase a lot of girls go through where I had to be "anti britney" because I thought it wasn't cool to like her. But as a grown woman now, I just find her story all too familiar and relatable to so many. I hope her future can be beautiful and bright, because she deserves the opportunity to make her life whatever she wants it to be.
We are still treating women terribly today. Why do we always look back and shake our heads in shame YET ignore what is happening now. This has to end now!
Oh, it's gotten soooooo much better than it was. We've come a long way in less than 20 years.
OG said it right, during the 00s, especially early-mid we all thought we were modern and changed but we weren't. we were all manipulated by Hollywood and corporations that need us to make money. Basically the same as today
@TheRandoGal if you think about it, it's our own fault for allowing ourselves to be manipulated by media and corporations without first asking questions and verifying. People are still easily manipulated by politics and the media today. No one asks questions or cares enough to hear ALL sides before making an informed opinion. That's our own fault. It's time we take responsibility for it instead of blaming others.
@darlingdeb You can't blame ourselves for being manipulated. The industry use experts to learn how to manipulate us. So it's hard to know what to question when everything you grew up with could be a lie, we only know what the government, school and media teach us. When Britney said she was okay and the media shows someone in a certain light, it's hard to know what truth and a lie. I never saw it coming that she was locked up in an illegal conservatorship.
What a powerful book. I just finished it and it broke my heart.
Same! What a horror story. I can't even imagine going through that. I had a taste of it with my mother but nothing on her level. Bless her heart!
@@Serenityblu23 no. The book would be insanely long if she named each individual. She took the most impactful events.
@@darlingdeb7010 I heard there will be a part 2 or that they were thinking about it.
I cried. It hurts. I pray for Britney. They really did her dirty, especially that alcoholic dad of hers.
Good video! Thanks for supporting and respecting Britney!
I'm glad that she was able to tell her truth and to let everyone know what it was truly like "being Britney".
Fame broke this woman-her approach to life was still is innocent “I have clothes on now” I can’t help to feel bad for her.
Her pretty and talent opened the door to her undeserved detriment!
Amazing strong woman 💓 Definitely gonna read the memoir.
Her father is a perfect example of a jobless loser. Some fathers work and even die for their family and then there is this guy 💀🤭 who was mooching off of his daughter's money because he didn't want to do his role as a father 😅
Her father is/was nothing but a freaking *parasite* ... same goes for the rest of her so-called family.
I think it’s also jealousy. I’m sure I’m reaching here but her dad was a basketball player and wasn’t good enough to make it. He just wasn’t and she is. She was able to succeed where the rest of her family failed.
Agreed 100% on how the media treated her.
Britney's story is the definition of the importance of not judging someone until ALL THE FACTS are known.
Britney was treated less than a dog. She is a survivor. My father contemplated a conservatorship for me so he could keep his mits on my inheritance and benefits. I got out before that could happen via emancipation. Society needs to think outside the box it closes around women.
AT HOME ON HER BATHROOM FLOOR? THAT WOULD BE AWFUL 😱🤭☹️💖💖💖🌻🍀💐🌻💖💖💖 she’s so strong!!!!!
If it was Justin Timberlake dancing with knives the media would be applauding him for being so impressive and risky.
I had to put the book down several times because I felt such RAGE. Think of all the male rockstars like Nikki Sixx that overdosed multiple times and barely took care of their kids. You can name a bunch of male rockstars that deserved to be placed in a conservatorship and yet they weren't. What did she do? Oh no she shaved her head and ran over a stalker's foot. Wah.
True that😂... It's annoying how men get away with anything and everything while when we women do that, we git twice as worse of the consequence hey should have given the men...
Brit your strong !! you are beating all odds..YOU GO GIRL !!! God has been with you since the beginning.
If only we had more Britney Spears cinema.
Justice for Britney!! ❤ The people that locked her away and took her money without consent have not got punished yet, she needs justice.
Amazing video!!! Thank you for being this humane and fair and honest about the book and the legendary Ms. Britney Spears. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am so happy for her. ❤
Once again _The Take_ makes a poignant _must-see_ video. So glad this channel exists.
Excellent video explaining Brittney’s situation well done👏
This is pretty dark, but she was in the conservatorship for so long things truly seems so "hopeless" for her that I thought one day we'd see "Britney commits suicide."
I'm soooo glad she was STRONG STRONG to get through that time period.
I just want to give her a big hug ❤
Can you please make a video about this "girl math" trend circulating around us and what it means about the image of women and consumerism?
Thank you for your positive coverage of this. ❤
I LOVE this channel ❤️
Love you, Britney! Hope you find happiness❤️
Maybe this is Her legacy, not just pop music but changing the way women are treated in the media and in general!
I’m still in disbelief over our horrible justice system. How could this ever happen?
Holy crap! I couldn't put this book down. Her life has been a horror story 😳.
I just wish her all the best, love and happiness ❤❤❤❤
i remember how gleefully the media speculated on britney's potential early death when she was going through her crisis, it was so so gross
Many female musicians or divas have the same sad stories with manipulative parents who treated their talented kids like money trees. They used and abused them, guilt trip and control these women to meet their financial greed. It’s so sad that usually it’s those parents who are willing to do anything to push their kids to stardoms is the way that created these stars. They are destine to stardom but at the same time flawed and damaged since childhood.
I really wish healing for her. She's a sweet person.
Aquarius moon ♡♡♡ *you go girl!*
Leave the girl alone . I never understand people needs to be judgmental or to just be mean againist other people. The girl is a pop star so what did the critics expect.what’s even sadder is she didn’t haven’t anyone protecting her so everyone saw her as fair game. I’m am proud how strong she is.
I hope Britney and Taylor become close friends! I honestly think Taylor could be so good for her… someone who really understands all that she’s gone through and navigated so many of the same barriers- but really good at standing up against these things that Britney I think never really knew she had the right to stand up against.
Justin Timberlake’s legacy tarnishes more and more.
Nah, his newer music will sell all publicity is good publicity.
I still think about the South Park episode about her at least monthly. We still publicly sacrifice people - particularly young women - all. the. time.
And I agree....anytime anyone who is not a doctor or a mental health professional says they are "concerned" for her. It makes me roll my eyes. Such a veiled insult
Wow, this broke my heart
Diane Swayer should BEG for her forgiveness. 😡
She deserved so much better.

This video is gold~
The biggest take is how much a narssistic toxic family can destroy a beautiful soul ❤
thank you Britney

I feel like Britney is kinda the Dolly Parton of her generation, in terms of her Southern roots, 'blonde bombshell' image, rampant criticism of her sexuality & her body, & exploitation by the industry? Really, really hope she is able to find her power as a mature woman the way that Dolly did, and reclaim her dignity after the insane journey she's survived so far.
Incidentally, I hope like hell talkshow hosts have stopped asking young entertainment industry stars those kinds of intrusive questions about their sex lives?? 😬 (Though sadly based on seeing recent clips with Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, I don't think things have changed much yet?) That V-card query with Britney was an incredibly uncomfortable moment to witness, so sleazy and SO irrelevant to her musical talent, which is ostensibly why she was being interviewed in the first place... Ugh! Give these poor girls SOME privacy, please??
OMG. I am not a pop music fan so I didn’t know any of this, I’m in shock of the way she has survived, I never thought I could see her as a hero...
Britney have my full support
Imo those outlets that are still around and profited from blasting her for all these years should apologize, at the very freaking least.
Britney has the same smile as her grandmother...wow this is so sad 😢❤
That's why we need to stop romanticizing parents. Just get rid of toxic people immediately, it doesn't matter who they are.
Live one, my Queen!
I know this is going to be a very unpopular opinion... But I don't think it is fair to say that concern about her recent posts comes only out of sexism or that they're attempts to treat her as a child again. Those of us who have lost adult relatives and had no means to intervene because they didn't accept help see this differently. Hopefully that's not the case. But if we have seen people like Aaron Carter surrounded by enablers , and people were praised for calling the cops to check on him before what later happened, it's not irrational for some fans of her to feel the same way now... Now we know even Sam wasn't someone to rely on in the first place.
If I were her I would never associate with my family.
I’m not even a fan of hers but the way the media and the general public have treated her throughout the years is nothing short of abuse.
I can't wait to read the book. Anything to support her and getting $$$ that she deserves.
Michael Scott: I am Beyonce always

Chaotic was a docuSERIES, btw. Really, a reality show
Because The Take might need some more references on it before they can even think of making it into an analysis video, basically what is it with within pop-culture about the over obsession of "top heavy" women, essentially narrative wise when it's not about basically peer pressuring women into impossible cup sizes, there's the narratives about the flip side of body shaming women that are naturally "top heavy"

Yeah, unless a bunch of ten year olds helped her parents to get that conservatorship, I'm thinking a bunch of us didn't fail her.
Why are you implying that any of us "failed" a superstar that has made more money than any of us provably ever will? Her parents failed her and some industry execs screwed her over. We on the other hand didn't "fail" anyone. Stop trying to blame society for everything.
