He just didn't fit well with the new scheme, and the fact that he was out the year the scheme changed only made it worse.

Before his injury,the maniac was the best linebacker. The instinct he had to punch the ball and make the fumble,was something unique to his game. Let's hope after the cut by the Colts,to stay out of injuries and going to a team who's fit to him.

We will miss you Shaq Leonard. Yesterday was a sad but necessary day for Colts fans. Breaks my heart that he just couldn’t quite get back to his old form after that nerve damage. I think fans, the team, and Leonard all hoped beyond hope that he would get that quick twitch back, but it just didn’t happen. I hope he finds a new team with scheme that fits him better than the Colts new scheme under Bradley, but ultimately, I don’t think scheme was the biggest issue. He just hasn’t looked the same this year, and you can pay a player that isn’t delivering. Nothing but love from this Colts fan. (And he handed out turkeys yesterday with the team after being released, which shows the type of man he is). 😢

He best ability though undoubtedly was his ability to force fumble if you ask me… dude was an absolute turnover machine. Loved watching him play, going to be severely missed here in Indy

I really think he will be good again on a contender. he wont need to be the main guy on defense, but could still be an important piece. with a solid defensive cast, i think he can still make plays.

It's still an absolute atrocity that Vander Esch got into the Pro Bowl in their rookie season and Shaq didn't. Oh well, 1st team All Pro is where it's at anyways. It'll be hard for any linebacker to ever reach Shaqs overall numbers in those first few seasons. Will definitely miss him in Indy🥲

He's one of those guys that I wish was a bit bigger or a bit smaller. He is too little to play inside linebacker and last 10 years. If he was just a little smaller and faster, we would be calling him the best free safety in football.

after his injury his production went way down. if you watched him this season it was apparent he was never 100% himself and sometimes a liability. as a colts fan i wish we kept him until the end of the season but it kinda makes sense to clear up some dead cap since he was under a massive contract. i hope he goes somewhere and starts producing again its sad to see him go considering he was my favorite colts player. hate to see him go though
