Something that Mildred did not bring up is that Murder Lady's stripper routine can only be described as "Erotic Wayne Parents Death". My dear wife's back stiffed and she whispered "Martha!" when we watched this episode as the Murder Lady ripped a string of pearls from her neck, which the camera lingered on exactly as it does in every batman adaptation before returning to Nick and Schanke.
Based on how the description of the plot went, I was absolutely expecting this to be a Poison Ivy magic lipstick/pheromones kinda deal. Actually went back and rewatched because uh, I felt like I missed that reveal.
"do you think they have any idea what effect they have on us, what power they have over us?" has got to be one of the best lines in television it is SO bad, in SO many ways
It feels like they were going for a succubus theme in this one but in that case why not just make her an actual succubus? You already have vampires and ghosts. Really weird choice!
Can't tell you how wonderful this series has been. Opening my youtube app in January everyday hoping to find something, seeing your thumbnail and thinking "oh right the watchathon is happening" has been brightening my days all week.
My favorite part of this episode is where Matt eloquently describes the beautiful and interesting way many Native folks speak English, but apparently without any awareness that it's a pretty common cadence/accent for Native folks to have hahaha I laughed our loud when he said it's like Stonetree isn't really paying attention to the people he's talking to, like his mind is on a million ither things at once--lmao it really be like that when you're talking to older native men especially So to answer Matt's question my best guess is that it both is and isn't a character choice. The actor is probably just speaking in his normal speaking voice, but it def IS a choice to NOT code-switch and thereby highlight that the character is indigenous
I think this whole episode was designed to demonize sex workers. Almost exclusively tbh. "The evil yet hot lady who can convince any man to do as she commands" trope without using any super natural explanations as to why its so easy to get them to do things other than she's a lawyer who chooses to go stripping.
ive been loving the daily uploads even though i know it's not a reasonable pace to keep. just so happy to see more scaredy cats videos (while i keep rewatching the older stuff)
They should have literally just made her a different type of vampire. Maybe she has powers that aren't familiar to Nick and then he realizes..."Oh shit she's some sort of emotional vampire." Then we have more supernatural threats and likewise Nick has to wonder if he can figure out her weaknesses and win. Maybe he has to talk to his own vampire friends and they pool centuries of experience together to figure out what exactly they're dealing with.
Love you Mildew! My gf n I have been inspired to watch Forever Knight ourselves! Thanks so much! I am from northern MT and I remember seeing commercials for FK, but never saw it myself. A failure to be corrected soon! 🍻🧛♀️🤘
Given how the actors are emoting in the scene, I don't think Nick is lying to skanky, he's using his eyes to invite him into a conspiracy to trick the audience with an undercover fakeout. No idea why he's doing that in the plot. But I like that he and skanky have fun little secrets together.
No, you're definitely not joking. Every supernatural / paranormal serial drama from the '90s had a "psychic consultant bungling things up royally" episode.
This is the episode I remember the best from when I watched this show in the 90's. It hasn't aged well but you gotta understand this is the Basic Instinct era when just mixing up sexy fun times and crimes was, like HOLY SHIT SO TRANSGRESSIVE
It's because you've been a good boy Ron, now shush and stop shouting; Mildred said something about needing hypnotist powers to get the pigs to go and do murders and I'm all confused.
Have to second the call that some kind of vampire seducing power should have been at the bottom of this, would have been 100% better. In the episode's mild defense I'll say horniness on TV was a wildly complicated thing to depict in the 90s for all kinds of legal and cultural reasons.
It feels like they were hinting at something akin to Poison Ivy with the lipstick being so focused. Basically a chemical mind control. But in that case, why make her an ex-attorney and not give her a chem degree? Same ultimate impact, "she's SMART for a stripper, and that's dangerous!" (blech), but actually serves the plot. And, like, maybe Knight is mildly susceptible to it, but his vampiric nature makes it weaker, not last as long. I wonder if part of the problem was that it had TOO MUCH Batman similarity and in the process of filing the serial numbers off it got entirely incoherent.
Well, they can't all be winners. This one reminds me of an early X-Files monster of the week episode. Not the one about the Corporate Goth Vampire though, that was a pretty good one.
I looked it up, bots tasked to disguise their nature by engaging at random. Strange to see so many though! May God have mercy on man and machine for their sins
I have to wonder if the writers of these shows forget what was established in previous episodes, or just go on a "this would be cool and then..." fanfic type of poor writing, not understanding the characters they fanfic about or how anything actually works in reality.
See, aren't you glad last episode wasn't all "Women be killing"? I do not feel like Dr. Cole would have been treated as an emotionally complex person killing in a crime of passion. It seems like a 90s police procedural vampire superhero show would take the stance that only the most unhinged would kill, coldly. If they're a woman.
Forever Knight reboot pitch: a cop chooses to live as a vampire to control in his violent impulses and atone for the harm he's done
Got an honest laugh out of me.
I would watch it
🤣

I love the shot of Lacroix and Jannette giving "We love your vibe" look to Nick.

I am LOVING this series and your review/tribute to it.
"do you think they have any idea what effect they have on us, what power they have over us?" has got to be one of the best lines in television

Instead they went for the "all women are actually succubi" I guess
I think she was using the chemicals in her lipstick to control men

getting a daily video is making me so happy!
This has become must-watch youtube for me, love being introduced to this
Mildred, I LIVE for this series review by you- Forever Knight is my favourite series ever, so glad you're covering it!
Forever knight, 4EVAR!!!
Wooo, became available right before I started work for the day so I can immediately watch it.
🙌🙌🙌
This series is so weird and i am here to watch
you gotta start calling these Nick At Nite dude
Nighty-night, knight
No I don't. I literally don't have to do that. Try and make me, you can't.
Episode salvaged at the last second by Lacroix.

Not every episode can be gold.
It's not a good episode, but it's probably the horniest episode of tv I saw as a child
Obsessed with this series! I love hearing about local shows I'd never see
The murder lawyer stripper lady in this episode was played by the actress the voiced Zelda in the 80s Legend of Zelda cartoon.
"The murder lawyer stripper lady" - automatically read it as TMNT theme
This episode is also what's going on in that cartoon they just whitewashed it
Well excuse me, princess!
ive been loving the daily uploads even though i know it's not a reasonable pace to keep. just so happy to see more scaredy cats videos (while i keep rewatching the older stuff)
I'm now watching the whole series because of you.
2:55 WHY DOES HE HAVE TO LOOK INTO MY SOUL WHEN HE SAYS IT

Amazing thank you never stop
I'm loving this series
Been loving this series so far! Thank you for releasing these videos right around my lunch break so I have something to watch while I eat 😂
I know this must be so much work for you, Mildew.
I just want to say I greatly appreciate a scaredy cats a day, everyday!
Love you Mildew! My gf n I have been inspired to watch Forever Knight ourselves! Thanks so much! I am from northern MT and I remember seeing commercials for FK, but never saw it myself. A failure to be corrected soon!

In context, it's definitely not that. He and Schanke legit fight.
Well I'm very confused then@@ScaredyCatsTV
Wait… plaid skirts, knee socks, Skanky is not just talking sartorial choices he finds attractive is he?
These seemingly separate elements are creating a certain impression
We are detectives, sadly not vampire detectives, but detectives none the less!@@0meAcat1
Lexx-A-thon when? Do the first season, it's basically a mini-series.
oh man, another sci-fi channel classic
Lexx ain't horror, or I absolutely would.
There is a horror themed episode where a bunch of teens end up on the lexx and die in various gruesome ways
@@ScaredyCatsTV Are there maybe more things that are "Not horror, or you absolutely would"? Enough for another channel maybe?🥺
Ohmygawwd! Lancetantine finally got to ya 😂 also "I'm uncomfortable" made me laugh so hard it upset my dog
Bobby doesn't like getting notes.

Thank you for doing this review. I know I watched all these episodes in college. I remember the characters. I remember none of the plots.
RIP Jilly's - the legendary strip joints of Toronto are down to the Zanzibar, the Brass Rail and Filmore's now.
Wait, Jilly's was REAL?!
yassss!! It was main floor of the Broadview Hotel at Queen & Broadview for decades. Closed down 3-4 years ago.@@ScaredyCatsTV
Filmore's is becoming condos but the Brass Rail is pursuing heritage designation to avoid becoming condos.
This is amazing👍!!..🎉
FIVE? FIVE EPISODES OF SCAREDY CATS IN A ROW? WHY IS THIS DELUGE OF POSITIVITY HAPPENING TO US? SOMEONE, PLEASE, EXPLAIN IT TO ME!
It's because you've been a good boy Ron, now shush and stop shouting; Mildred said something about needing hypnotist powers to get the pigs to go and do murders and I'm all confused.

Hey mildo this month of content has owned
I thought she was going to be a succubus or something
been watching these on my lunch breaks i’m so excited to watch more horny vampire tv with my best friends, mildred and the comments section ‼️‼️
I iiii miss it every day
Did they use the actual club Jilly's? It was so run down when I lived in that neighbourhood in the early 00's
It feels like they were hinting at something akin to Poison Ivy with the lipstick being so focused. Basically a chemical mind control. Oof. LaCroix saved it at the end.
This episode beings the LaCroix ratio to: 2:5
Sublime!
Well, they can't all be winners. This one reminds me of an early X-Files monster of the week episode. Not the one about the Corporate Goth Vampire though, that was a pretty good one.
Executive goth
Didn’t “corporate goth” start in Toronto?
But it had LaCroix in it, so 4/5 at minimum
If you like this show you might also like Brimstone (the show about the guy who hunts down escaped demons for satan)
What is the adjective noun number comment its creeping me out. Hollow people?
Either that or Docker instances
I looked it up, bots tasked to disguise their nature by engaging at random. Strange to see so many though! May God have mercy on man and machine for their sins

Waiiiit a minute... is Nick's boss the dad from Smoke Signals? Let's ask Victor.... Hey Victor! VICTOR!
I sure hope there are Tim Ballard jokes in the next episode. Nephi's ghost is going to save the kids!
Not only that, but they named it out loud.
See, aren't you glad last episode wasn't all "Women be killing"? I do not feel like Dr. Cole would have been treated as an emotionally complex person killing in a crime of passion.
