In this Rhino Grasshopper Tutorial, we will model a perforated parametric facade in Grasshopper and with the help of Lunchbox Plugin. First, we will model the surface and then divide them into triangular panels. By using the attractor point technique we will make the panels scale differently across the facade. Hi! Could you explain how to control a pattern taking into consideration borders ?( For example to control the distance from them)
I don't think I've ever seen instructional videos that explain nothing and leave one less knowledgeable than before watching them like this guy's stuff.
i tried to make this kind of facade before but it didn't work because i didn't know how to control two surface. i really appreciate to share all your grasshopper video.
This was a great video. I have been looking for a way to make a particular type of screen for a while and this is great. Could you make this work with multiple attractor points?
It feels like a good idea to list the plugins before you actually need them for those who don't have them yet. It';s a pain to stop and download and restart. Thanks though , great tutorial
I was stopped on remap step, In rhiro 6 Grasshoper has another kind of remap, which has diffrent input parametrs/ How to use that? Thank you so much for your tutorial!
thanks for the tutorial. I'm finding them really instructive and very well explained. I got just one question. When it comes to extrude the panels, I can't do it properly. I evaluate the surface of the panels and extrude them using the its normal (multiplying it by any value). For some reason, the panels to the short surface plus the panels to the first column of the long surface are extruded in the negative direction. Could you please through some light over here? Thanks a lot
How would I complete a similar procedure but rather than scaling the triangular panels based on a point attractor, using a colour gradient based on distance from an attractor?
I tried to apply this tutorial on a whole box, and wanted to have 1 point as an attractor placed on one of the vertices of the box where the 3 surfaces connected to point are affected with it, but I obviously failed because I wasn't sure how to change the values in the equation to match a box and to set a static point instead of the moving one.. If you could help with a link to a video where I can find the right way to do so.
Nice one bro... But little doubt... That is... I downloaded remap from you website.. and I copied ti the special folder too... And I restarted my PC.... Still I cant find it in comment... Wat to do?? Please help me out
remap+ doesnt work in rhino 7? I cant drag or download it. I can download the file from your website in a winrar folder, I downloaded it into the special folder in components folder, but afther that I cant download the component into the program! I downloaded as well the component bifocals from food4rhino and it appears inmidiatly. IM doing something wronk? thanks
I can not insert the remap+, the help file say to drag into the grasshopper canvas but I am not able to do that. I even tried to install it as a component. Please let me know if there is another way or a tutorial on how to get this installed
I guess you choose wrong output as input of closest point. ("Centroid " from "Area component") => ("Point" from "Closest point component") ("Geometry" from "Move component")=>("Cloud" from "Closest Point component")
hello how are you? my name is emilio, I wanted to ask you if you can help me generate on a surface cut in rectangular planes, a series of rectangles like fish scales, thanks
You can use the "Extrude" Component and for the direction of the extrusion, use the Normal Vectors of those frame panels. You can use "Evaluate Surface" component to have the Normal Vectors.
@@ParametricHouse Hi! i'm still new to grasshopper. How do you insert the thickness value if you use evaluate surface as the direction of the extrusion? Thanks! you're the best

OMG thank you sooo much
I was literally trying to explode a model in to surfaces the whole day yesterday and couldn't find it... Thanks for the tutorial xD

thanx
I have a question for you:
How about doing this on a more complex surface type? I.e. a beep with waved surfaces?
Is it possible to change the triangles with other geometries? if so how? for example a circle, always with a gradient
thank you!!! :D I made one successful

Thanks for the feedback , good idea , I'll do that for future videos
can you use parakeet geometry and do the same pannel?

I had the same problem. You can find it here in description or comment section ua-cam.com/video/Ww1KpLisy8Q/v-deo.html
Is the remap+ still relevant in Rhino 7? It doesn't seem to work.
can you explain how i would implement a cull pattern to remove triangles below a certain size after the attractor

You're welcome.
What about offseting the surface , making the panels and lofting the two panels together
hello, i don't seem to find the exact lesson about that last example you give around 12:14 , can you tell me which video is it?
Hola, no me aparece Rempa+ solo Rempa Number se puede usar ese?

hi! The remap plugin website is crashed... there's another plugin to do the same? or something else?

remap+ link is not found ~
hi nice tutorial! how about if I'm going to use CURVE instead of POINT, where can I insert it? Thanks!

Thanks, no need to restart. Simply drag and drop it in your Grasshopper canvas and search for remap+
@@ParametricHouse thank you so much.... ✌️
Very nice tutorial, where i can find panels commands? i dont have in my grasshopper :(
Download lunch box plugin😊

Try putting it in user object folder

The tutorial is super good but i cant download the remap because i am not premium user !! Can someone help me out ?
Tnx...

I can't find the panels tab in the launchbox plugin

como hago para que todas tengan una apertura?
I got an error on the "Closest Point". It is giving me a "data conversion failed". any idea what can be wrong?

I Couldn't aplly pattern on my wall, how can I do it
Hi!
Cool lesson! Tell me where to download the "Lunchbox" plugin???
Hi
Download it from here
www.food4rhino.com/app/lunchbox
hello how are you? my name is emilio, I wanted to ask you if you can help me generate on a surface cut in rectangular planes, a series of rectangles like fish scales, thanks
is there any other plugins that isn't lunchbox? I see that you use it a lot but i'm running it on a mac
Checkout our playlist...there are also a list of grasshopper plugins on Food4rhino.com
How can i download remap??
what about Mac users ,where there is no lunchbox plugin ,any alternative plugin
You can do it without lunchbox but you have to make the triangles by working on an isotrim division
Can you finish your tutorial by telling us how to make the thickness?
You can use the "Extrude" Component and for the direction of the extrusion, use the Normal Vectors of those frame panels. You can use "Evaluate Surface" component to have the Normal Vectors.
