    I got this on sale for $420 and i have officially exceeded 1000km and it's still going strong. I love this scooter, it's an excellent way to get around town without driving, especially in rush hour traffic and saves me money on gas! One of the main reasons I wanted to get an escooter. I rode around detroit on some bird scooters when me and my friends went to go chill over there and go urban exploring and I've enjoyed them ever since.

    Fantastic video, really nicely produced and very informative! Having ridden both this and the KQi3 Pro, can you please tell me if you remember which has the higher handlebars? The specs actually show the KQi2 Pro does but it's hard to tell in the videos and I'm concerned about bending down too far to reach them. At 6'4 and size 12 shoe, looking to see which one would be a better fit, as well as which would suit someone 5'5 better. Thank you very much!

    for some reason my kqi2 pro now no longer requires kick to start... no idea what's that about.
    Also discovered the cruise control feature mid-ride, which was a little freaky for a split-second, but nothing horrible.

  • @BandoLyrix
    @BandoLyrix 2 роки тому +2

    I think 🤔 the kick2start feature is a safety feature to protect the rider from accidentally gasn off. So it takes intentionality to start the motor But a bad idea in emergency situations. Great video tho

  • @Del-Canada
    @Del-Canada 5 місяців тому +1

    The reason they make you do the tut with each new scooter you buy is because all scooters have to have that feature regardless of whether you have done it or not. Also, you could have bough the scooter as a gift and let someone use your account, or maybe you share the account with a sibling or friend. It makes sense. It's really no big deal. They have no way of confirming if it's literally you getting on the new scooter.

    • @Del-Canada
      @Del-Canada 5 місяців тому +1

      Another example, my brother doesn't use cell phones. So if he got a NIU he'd need to do the tutorial using my account. There are many reasons to redo the tut.

    Here's the HACK to unlock the speed mode WITHOUT using a phone:
    While you're doing this, DON'T pair it w/the app on a phone. Get the scooter turned on in the eco-mode setting (where it peaks at about 9mph), NOT the slowest walk-mode with the little foot symbol.
    Set the base of the scooter centered on a heavy case or box with some weight enough to hold the wheels off the ground by at least a few inches. I used a heavy duty equipment fight-case the size of a large briefcase.
    Start the motor by giving the rear wheel a spin with your hand (to get it "kick-started"), and then run the throttle at full, either holding it down so the wheel starts spinning from the motor (or do like what I did) and just tape the leaver at full throttle.
    After it runs for what "it thinks" it's doing is those first few miles, you'll hear a "beeping" sound. Bam! You just unlocked the speed mode.
    Then let go of the throttle. Stop the wheels. Take the scooter off whatever you set it up on, and it's all ready without having to go into the app. I used NO PHONE to do this.
    I only got mine running maxed out at about 17mph, and it would momentarily hit 18mph, but I think there's another hack? I'm going to try it, where you go to update firmware for these (the KQi2) but instead you install the firmware for the KQi3. Something like that. Well, I'm going to try because it's supposed to get you to push this up to 25mph top speed if that hack works.

    I never understood the push start just make it throttle from zero that’s kind of a bozo move especially in certain situations involving traffic like being stopped on a heavy incline it’s bad enough it sags on hills but to then have to push it is absurd in that situation.

    I appreciate the effort, but €499 (+shipping and handling) is a little expensive for the limited options and inconvenience of having to always keep your phone and data running, and only being able to turn the scooter on when it's plugged.
    I also agree that the app should recognize that you've already done the tutorial. I got my Gyrocopter Flash 3.0 from Best Buy at 50% off, for $400 CAD. It's available all over the place for around $900 CAD when it's not on sale (which is less than the cost of importing a €500 scooter, after exchange rates).
    It comes stock with double spring suspension, has the same top speed as the NIU scooters, solid honeycomb tires, and doesn't require a tutorial or data or that you drain your battery by keeping your cellphone open the whole time.

    one to one copy of the segway ninebot max and should because of that not be taken in consideration. Even thou it has a face lift now, thats such a bitter taste just by looking at it

      Yeah, these companies copying Segway and/or Xiaomi scooters are just lazy and uninspiring, they aren't even that much cheaper considering they're competing with these larger and well-established companies that make reliable and more-supported products (the modding and hacking communities for Segway and Xiaomi scooters are just the best out there!).

      NIU is actually one of the most reputable brands of electric mopeds worldwide, and the unexposed wiring and better braking along with its warranty make it hard to choose the ninebot over this scooter for the price.

      Haha, if you know segway copied niu's e-mopeds, I don't know what you will say...
