The guy not singing is Ringo Starr, the drummer. He usually got to sing lead on 1 or 2 songs per album, but the main harmonization was usually between John, Paul and George
Doug, don’t put yourself down, Just pull up a chair and listen to the greatest music ever made. They only made over 200 songs not including their solo stuff which is also great
Fun fact: The Beatles basically started what we now know as music videos. They became so popular around the world that they couldn’t fulfill all the requests for live appearances. So they started making what they called “promotional (promo) videos” to send out instead (like this one.) They were way ahead of their time on all fronts. I don’t know what movies this song played in, other than their own second feature film called, “Help.” I love early Beatles (and McCartney) 💙
Good Reaction. 230 Great songs. Paul and Ringo, with the umbrella, are still with us. The biggest selling Artists of all time, selling twice as many records as the next 2 artists COMBINED, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.First Group to play outdoors(55,000 at Shea Stadium).Have ONE song recorded by over 3,000 other Artists(Yesterday was the song) and had 14 hits in The USA AT THE SAME TIME...including ALL THE TOP 5 singles.
John wrote this one. They hated having to do these 'promo' videos, so they just goofed around (it's been said...it's possible they had a 'smoke or two' before hand). I find these videos hysterical! Check out 'We Can work It Out' and 'Ticket to Ride'. John is especially fun to watch on both. On 'We can work it out' George decides to just sit down mid-song and Ringo half sleeps thru both songs. Fun stuff!
All 4 members of the Beatles wrote songs and all 4 had #1 hits both as Beatles and as solo artists! Most of the Beatles songs were written by Paul McCartney, followed by John Lennon, then George Harrison and last by Ringo Starr.
Don't worry! It's not your generation. This is very early catalog. They made a movie HELP! "All my Loving" is amazing. And "Revolver" album is a masterpiece. Check out "In my Life". OMG.
Back then they would shoot on film, which requires a lot of light to get a good exposure. The room would have been much brighter than it appears on film. That may explain why Ringo was blinking. Lights may have been too bright for him.
In regards to who's "the songwriter" in the group, John wrote the most songs, Paul wrote the second most (Not that much less than John wrote), George third, and Ringo fourth, only two of his original songs got recorded before he started a solo career. Speaking of Ringo, he's the one in the back holding the umbrella, he's the drummer. He can't really play the drums while sitting on a bench with 3 other people, now can he? If you want some other classic Beatles songs you may have heard before, "Don't Let Me Down" and "Come Together" are ones that I've heard for years before knowing that they were Beatles songs. I've always seen those two as opposites.
Oh, also, it seems to be a running joke in the community that Ringo can play inanimate objects. In this video, as well as the videos for "I Feel Fine" and "Paperback Writer", Ringo is in the video, but not playing the drums. In this video he's holding an umbrella, in "I Feel Fine" he's riding an exercise bike, and in "Paperback Writer" he's doing absolutely nothing. It's a running joke that Ringo isn't just sitting there, but is "playing" these objects, playing umbrella, playing exercise bike, and playing nothing respectively.
@@williambowers2820 To be exact, of the 200 plus songs written by the Beatles, John wrote 71 mostly on his own and Paul wrote 68 mostly on his own. Just a difference of 3 songs. SO, pretty much equal.
You are right they are fooling around...they were forced to lipsync for a show react to this song live...the beatles and Queen are the best...the Beatles though, are the most influential
You should react to the John Farnham version of help live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It's a slower ballad style version which is highly regarded as one of the best covers of this song, with members of the Beatles apparently saying that his version is how the song was meant to be sung.
love so much your reaction ....... the main writer on this song is john lennon ........is very hard to recommanded a song of the Beatles .....after george , lennon please try " penny lane" who mc cartney is the main writer ........Beatles changed the history of music in 8 years ......after the breakup in 1970 each one continued music with sucess ......lennon was murdered in 1980 in new york by a fan , george harrison died in 2001 of a brain tumor .......mc cartney continued to touring and also ringo starr ... please try penny lane, i m sure you loved it
Have fun Doug. You are going to enjoy the experience of getting to know the Beatles.

I've never seen this video for Help before! Excellent! Thank you!

I just realized Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box video mirrors this scene with John up front, bouncing and same expression and forelock.
This is back when Artists really enjoyed making Music!

Help is the theme song to their second movie Help, their first was A Hard Days Night. Check Them out
John wrote this one, and it was the title song for their second movie Help!, which is definitely worth watching
"Come to the window, come to the window ....."
@@jamesalexander5623 LOL, exactly...... "not a BIT like Cagney"

Ringo wasn't blinking, he was WINKING.

Lennon wrote more recorded Beatle songs than McCartney, almost always whoever is the lead singer is the writer.

Both Paul and John co-wrote Help.
Lennon wrote it, almost entirely.

Watch the yellow submarine it’s a trip😅
Ringo is the drummer, he's in the back and he's not singing! :)
The emperors of music. I think you need some help.
My 14 year old thinks they are the greatest band ever!
