2020 started off with a bang in Eternity Code. So many archetypes received incredible, game changing support. And with so much good-stuff, it kept prices low for awhile. Have to say I was hyped for this more-so than nearly any other release of that year. Similar things could probably be said about ROTD and PHRA, but I care about ETCO a little more. Oh, and best deck Plunder Patroll became a cohesive archetype with this set I guess.
As a cyber dragon player, I understand the whole summon rulings using opponents unaffected monsters. people used to say that you cannot megafleet an ultimate falcon in the EMZ, but its not a card effect to summon megafleet, its a condition of how to summon that monster (just like kaijus) or the easiest way to explain it, it's a game mechanic not a card effect so ultimate falcon still goes bye bye.
Duel overload! Best set for sure but that maximum gold is pretty nice too. Thanks for this video Tom, love when you do videos like these ones! Not to many youtubers make great content quite like this. Keep up what your doing tom box!
My favorite product is battle city speed duel box i dont know if it came out in 2020 or 2021 but since i dont play remote duels ive just been teaching all my friends who dont play yugioh and family to play speed duels, its basically my family's new favorite board/ table top game right now.
Maximum gold is my favorite. A close second would probably be phantom rage. I like that a top deck came from that set. Plus the reprints in maximum gold was dope.
My favorite product is the maximum gold set. Mainly because it has soo many good reprints that are relatively cheap. As a returning player after a year hiatus this really helped me get a lot of common staples without it hurting my pockets too much. Besides that it would be rage of ra just because it marked the return of ghost rares and it was the the Egyptian god Ra!
Rise of the Duelist or Duel Overload for me I pulled a schism and a Verte Anaconda. Both sets are something I will always buy if given the chance. The amount of cards ,be it commons or ultimates, are superb.
Can I hand trap on resolution, ex my opponent activates uni Zombie to send Mezuki from deck to grave, can I then active DD Crow on the resolution of unizombies effect to banish mezuki, or do I have to wait for my opponent to do another action?
Not sure why but Duel overload was definitely my favourite. I opened every set last year and Duel Overload was easily the most fun to open. There were so many new splashable cards that felt great to pull because I could put them in any of my decks, plus something about the packaging and the giant cards was just really cool to me
Phantom Rage was my favourite set by far, Beast support, Fur hire card even if it’s crap, Zeus being an absolute god as well as some sick starlights make it my favourite set of a pretty rough year
There is everything to love about maximum gold, it's my favourite as well, it could be a box with a single Infinity in gold and I would still love it though.
My favorite release for 2020 had to be Phantom Rage. Only got 1 secret in the first of 4 boxes but then I pulled TWO starlights (Zeus and Torn Scales) in the other 3 boxes. But I also loved duel overload. I got decent pulls and my GF couldn’t stop pulling infinite impermanence for me. Also small shoutout to her for pulling Magicians Souls for me earlier in the year. Toon Chaos was fun to open when it came out (since I had 2 boxes preordered) and I got a few CR’s (Chaos Creator and Toon Harpy), but I really wish they didn’t include collectors rares in the unlimited set. I mean come one they’re called COLLECTORS rare. That really made the value plummet. ($150->$40 for CC)
My favorite set from 2020 is Rise of the Duelist. It's just the best. My favoruite all foil set was Secret Slayers. I think that it has two really strong archetypes as well as good reprints and I really liked to play Eldlich.
Favorite product Toon Chaos without a doubt. Bought two boxes to celebrate getting a job and pulled a 1st Ed CR BLS! Chaos Space is a hell of a card, and the new toons are a lot of fun. The reprints of gamma, desires, and the chaos stuff was awesome too, and the whole suite of CR's with Stardust, CED, BLS and more were such a cool debut's of the rarity. Hopefully they'll have some better CR's in the next set with them since GEIM's kinda suck.

You are explaining (on the There can only be one part) can you normal summon a monster type that you already have on the field and then choose the one you want to stay on the field or is the card locking you on the summon of another card as well. You explained that it was a simultaneous summon but can you summon separatly and then use the fact that there can only be one to destruct it by the effect of a card (I think about the shaddoll engine I am working with) for example you have a Winda (Spellcaster) on the field, can you normal summon a squamate then destruct it by the effect of there can only be one to trigger it? I don't play that card a lot and I would like to know if it can be possible if I face that card in the future. Since it doesn't say you are locked in summoning only cards that are not from the type of any monster each player control, I am thinking of it.

Random ruling question: i used pot of extravagance and later this turn my opp tries to activate dark bribe. Can my opp even activate dark bribe this turn after my pot resolved?

i want to understand this because the card lulu indeed activates in secuence but there was a similar question about this with shaddoll schism since activated cosmic ciclone, then activated schism and summoned shaddoll fusion then the second effect of schism is destroy a monster but the second effect was not activated ( as the comunity answered us on the tournament ) but if that is so torrentrial tribute could be activated between the effect since both cards schism and lulu have the word "then" so what happends there
100% my favorite product was Maximum Gold or Phantom Rage. Max Gold for the reprints and alternate arts, and Phantom Rage because Phantom Knights has been one of my favorite decks since i picked it up from a friend for only $40 in like 2018.
Torrential Tribute being dropped slowly hurts me a bit. My favourite product of 2020 was Shaddoll Showdown simply because it allows players to come into the game with a majority of staples and give them a better chance to top once they understand the deck.
The torrential discussion was interesting. When VW hit they made it a major point to state that all three actions happen simultaneously. It seems to run in opposition to the lao lao nyan ruling. I'd have fought it.
Upcoming blazing vortex is best set, just because the new tri-brigade card can't wait to pick one up for tri-zoo. Obviously not you're favourite set tho that ojama giving you a hard time.

Speaking of IP and Psyframes; I have a ruling question in regards to S-Force Orrafist. It's effect reads "Your opponent cannot target any of their monsters in the same column as one of your "S-Force" monsters with card effects.". With that in mind, if your opponent uses D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation to bring back a monster from banished into a column an S-Force is in, wouldn't the monster after being summoned, be destroyed? Since Equips spells are always targeting and Orrafist prevents your opponent from targeting, the DDR would lose its target, go to the gy and because it says "When this card leaves the field, destroy the equipped monster.", the monster is destroyed. Is this the case or am I wrong?
There is a difference between targeting a card and a card that is already targeted. S force prevents the targeting... Ddr targeted in the banish pile. The card is equipped. It wont untarget. Like dragoon, u negate with droplets, then equip something on it. Droplet expires... The equip is still on because it target during a valid point in the game.

Phantom Rage was so awesome to me. So many cards in the set like Zeus and Alpha and the best deck VW, phantom knight support, tri-brigade, it all was just so cool to me. *The giveaway having Phantom Rage in it come up as I was typing this lol
Maximum Gold was fun for me. Some good cards being reprinted like Nibiru, ghost girls and apollusa, but also some nice staples and fan favorite cards. But of course, alt art CD Infinity in gold rare does it for me alone.
Favourite product of 2020? Definitely Rise of the Duelist or Battles of Legend: Armageddon! Between chasing starlights and shooting for a full Dogmatika core, I'm sorta broke haha
Hey Tom can you help me out with a ruling ? Angel Statue - Azurune and Tiki Soul being on the field at the same time. Do there effects both get to activate? due to Tiki Souls effect : if another Trap Card you control that is a monster would be destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard, you can Set it in the Spell & Trap Card Zone instead.
I think Eternity Code was the best set of 2020 (in terms of value). Seriously, you had cards like Accesscode Talker that could cover the price of a box (and more) on its own.

Do you know how Time-Space Trap Hole and Torrential Work on summons that activate on the summon? Like Isolde and Striker Dragon? And if Black Metal Dragon gets linked away for Striker Dragon, is there any way to respond with Time Space Trap Hole or Torrential? Or for the same thing, like on the Summon of Knightmare monsters that discard for cost on Summon?
@@tl4038 To the best of my knowledge, since the effects of those monsters activate on summon, they activate in the same window that TT and time-space trap hole can be activated, meaning that you can chain them to the summon effect. This applies to all trigger-like effects that occur simultaneously,and is referred to as SEGOC (Seperate effects go on chain).I may be incorrect, though. I'm not a judge just a dude who thinks he knows PSCT.
I honestly think BLVO and ROTD were and are my favorite sets of this year. Both have very useful powerful cards to use in other decks I enjoy and I really like the idea of security force mix with other decks kind and I'd like for them to get enough good support to be their own powerful deck.
In regards to Torrential Tribute, would I be able to use it this way? 1. I control Evil Twin Ki-sikil and Torrential Tribute. My opponent summons a monster. 2. In response to the summon, I activate Evil Twin Ki-sikil. Then, I chain Torrential Tribute. 3. Chain resolves, TT pops all monsters, then Ki-sikil resolves, summoning Evil Twin Lil-la from the GY. I ask because DuelingNexus allows this interaction.
Yes you can do it like that, the trigger timing of the last action was monster was summon, response? The whole chain is in response to that last action. I probably should make a video on when/if.
U can chain tt during any point of that chain. Think mirror force, I declare an attack opponent uses mirror force, I chain my body as a shield, u can chains 2nd mirror force on top because we are still in the chain where the response is to the attack declaration.
Can anyone help me with a ruling pls as i just got back into the game after many years. I bought 3 dinosmashers structure decks and i want to know if Ultimate Conductor Tyrano can atk a monster again if it special summons itself back from the graveyard? For i destroy Frozen Fitzgerald by battle with my UCT and my opponent uses FF effect to SS from the graveyard, can i atk FF again? Also what happens if i chain UCTs 1st eff to Brionacs eff that targets it to return to the hand? After i flip Brionac facedown does UCT remain on the field or return to the hand?
QUESTION: If i have relinquished anima and i equip a monster to it using its effect, can i tribute summon a true draco monster using that equipped monster as a tribute? If so, does it count as if i tributed a face up spell or a monster? Because i know monsters equipped to something else are treated as continuous spells while on the spell and trap zone. Right?
So can you always hit inherit summons with torrential? Like knightmare cards? Or lets say they link off black metal for striker, can you respond with torrential on the summ of striker?
As a budget player and not having that much money around for yugioh i saved up for 2 mega tins since they got *announced. Also was my first sealed product. I didn’t pull something good, but I still think it’s a really good product (I mean the tin itself looks already cool by itself lol).

No, they both activate in the Summon Response Window. The turn player will activate first, then the opponent. It is irrelevant who has the "Armageddon Knight" and who has "Torrential".
Torrential tribute is looking for the last action performed BEFORE forming the current chain. Then yes, If Armageddon knight is activated at CL1, you may activate Torrential tribute as CL2.
so can you do this while TCBOO is on field scapegoat but have only 1 token use de-fusion on blue eyes ulitmate dragon then end with 1x blue eyes white dragon

If you control no Machines, you can summon multiple at once, you'll just have to send all but one to the grave. Same principle as Gamma.

With that in mind, if your opponent uses D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation to bring back a monster from banished into a column an S-Force is in, wouldn't the monster after being summoned, be destroyed? Since Equips spells are always targeting and Orrafist prevents your opponent from targeting, the DDR would lose its target, go to the gy and because it says "When this card leaves the field, destroy the equipped monster.", the monster is destroyed. Is this the case or am I wrong?
There is a difference between targeting a card and a card that is already targeted. S force prevents the targeting... Ddr targeted in the banish pile. The card is equipped. It wont untarget.
Like dragoon, u negate with droplets, then equip something on it. Droplet expires... The equip is still on because it target during a valid point in the game.
@@MSTTV Okay, I think I get it, since it prevents targeting and the monster was targeted prior to being summoned, it does nothing because it isn't within the window.
Phantom Rage was so awesome to me. So many cards in the set like Zeus and Alpha and the best deck VW, phantom knight support, tri-brigade, it all was just so cool to me.

Maximum Gold was fun for me. Some good cards being reprinted like Nibiru, ghost girls and apollusa, but also some nice staples and fan favorite cards. But of course, alt art CD Infinity in gold rare does it for me alone.

if another Trap Card you control that is a monster would be destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard, you can Set it in the Spell & Trap Card Zone instead.
I think Eternity Code was the best set of 2020 (in terms of value). Seriously, you had cards like Accesscode Talker that could cover the price of a box (and more) on its own.
My favorite product of 2020 is by far rise of the duelist where I found my first and only Starlight from a pack so good (it was the triple Tactical talents) ❤️

Do you know how Time-Space Trap Hole and Torrential Work on summons that activate on the summon? Like Isolde and Striker Dragon? And if Black Metal Dragon gets linked away for Striker Dragon, is there any way to respond with Time Space Trap Hole or Torrential? Or for the same thing, like on the Summon of Knightmare monsters that discard for cost on Summon?
@@tl4038 To the best of my knowledge, since the effects of those monsters activate on summon, they activate in the same window that TT and time-space trap hole can be activated, meaning that you can chain them to the summon effect. This applies to all trigger-like effects that occur simultaneously,and is referred to as SEGOC (Seperate effects go on chain).I may be incorrect, though. I'm not a judge just a dude who thinks he knows PSCT.
My favourite product from 2020 was MAGO. All Gold cards are so pretty!
My favrite set of 2020 is gold series. The reason is because of the imperm reprint was really needed.

I liked Genesis Impact. Ritual Monsters are my favorite and seeing them come back into the meta is really cool.
Definitely Rise of the Duelist, metagame changing cards , from secrets to mostly ultras they are being use in mostly every meta deck.
Phantom Rage is my favorite. With the PK support, it really help the deck out.

I honestly think BLVO and ROTD were and are my favorite sets of this year. Both have very useful powerful cards to use in other decks I enjoy and I really like the idea of security force mix with other decks kind and I'd like for them to get enough good support to be their own powerful deck.
In regards to Torrential Tribute, would I be able to use it this way?
1. I control Evil Twin Ki-sikil and Torrential Tribute. My opponent summons a monster.
2. In response to the summon, I activate Evil Twin Ki-sikil. Then, I chain Torrential Tribute.
3. Chain resolves, TT pops all monsters, then Ki-sikil resolves, summoning Evil Twin Lil-la from the GY.
I ask because DuelingNexus allows this interaction.
Yes you can do it like that, the trigger timing of the last action was monster was summon, response?
The whole chain is in response to that last action. I probably should make a video on when/if.
U can chain tt during any point of that chain. Think mirror force, I declare an attack opponent uses mirror force, I chain my body as a shield, u can chains 2nd mirror force on top because we are still in the chain where the response is to the attack declaration.

I bought 3 dinosmashers structure decks and i want to know if Ultimate Conductor Tyrano can atk a monster again if it special summons itself back from the graveyard? For i destroy Frozen Fitzgerald by battle with my UCT and my opponent uses FF effect to SS from the graveyard, can i atk FF again?
Also what happens if i chain UCTs 1st eff to Brionacs eff that targets it to return to the hand? After i flip Brionac facedown does UCT remain on the field or return to the hand?
Favorite set was rose of the duelist. Had great generic cards along with the dogmatika cards which I love as an engine.
QUESTION: If i have relinquished anima and i equip a monster to it using its effect, can i tribute summon a true draco monster using that equipped monster as a tribute? If so, does it count as if i tributed a face up spell or a monster? Because i know monsters equipped to something else are treated as continuous spells while on the spell and trap zone. Right?

As a budget player and not having that much money around for yugioh i saved up for 2 mega tins since they got *announced. Also was my first sealed product. I didn’t pull something good, but I still think it’s a really good product (I mean the tin itself looks already cool by itself lol).
If a card is face-up in the deck, are there any rules for shuffling? Because it's very easy to shuffle so you never draw Parasite Paracide.

yes as konami said that you can always Tribute cards even if they are FD for example you can also tribute FD continuous spells/traps for draco monsters

No, they both activate in the Summon Response Window. The turn player will activate first, then the opponent. It is irrelevant who has the "Armageddon Knight" and who has "Torrential".
Torrential tribute is looking for the last action performed BEFORE forming the current chain. Then yes, If Armageddon knight is activated at CL1, you may activate Torrential tribute as CL2.
