Collins was thanking everyone like it was the Oscars she’s truly saying her goodbyes glad she finally won a 1000 event. Congrats
Her speech was so on-brand but we love it 😂😂😂😂
She was happy to retire having won a Master 1000. Some people like to retire at the top like Collins, others try to stick way beyond their time like Venus.
@@marianagaoka9687 Lol, Venus is a joke. They still give her wild cards and she loses the first round.
Even Henin, Sharapova, Capriati and Davenport did not win Miami
@@sonnix31so what? She still plays tennis better than about 100 other women in the world. Her legacy is so important and so valuable to the game. The doors she has opened and the opportunities she has created for untold numbers of minorities cannot be ignored. Why should she not receive wild cards when she is still a major public figure and tournament draw card? She can play and do whatever she wants for as long as she wants. It’s really not for you to cast judgement on that decision.
So nice to hear Danielle speak so positively in that speech and seems she has a soft spot for Rybakina? Great two weeks for Collins. Don't retire!
yes because shes like the few women who play consistently good and help the WTA
She (Collins) is a heteronarmative queen who wants to crank out some children and she is already 30 so she needs to have them (children) soon to avoid possible complications at an older age.
Everyone likes Rybakina
@@westonmeyer3110You bet. Elena's a lovely player with a great disposition. Congrats to Collins
but I find her game so utterly boring and robotic, and she has a nasty showmanship streak. However, glad she finally won a big title even though it had to be against my favourite player out there.
@@ThePolskiteddy
Collins boring?
What?
Danielle's fairy tale. She won the most important title of her career, in the year of retirement. I'm really really glad for her! Congratulations from Argentina. ❤
PS: She was so happy for the winning, she forget to return the last ball of her serve. 😁
Or maybe she is keeping it as a souvenir! 😅
Заслуженно победила! Молодец!❤
If she keeps on winning titles may be she won't retire this year.
@@ericchat5640she will retire, she stands by her decision regardless.
Congrats Danielle on the biggest title of your career 👏🏽👏🏽 gonna miss her fighting spirit and tenacity on court after this year 😢
love hearing the speeches but 5 mins of highlights in a 17 minute video with “highlights” in the title is criminal
Exactly
I was happy when I first saw the length of the video then realized, oh, they just added the awards ceremony.
Yes exactly.. especially to include the speeches that no one is interested in which officials from the tournament
😂😂😂
Buzz off. Could be her last speech, she may not win again.
This game is the best I have ever seen Danielle play. Congratulations ❤
her groundstrokes particularly the backhand side WAS on song... It gave me chills just by watching her aggressive style of game today. There are not many who have managed to give ME such feeling in the past; Serena at her best so many times, Mauresmo at Wimbledon 2006,Venus in Wimbledon 2008, Sharapova at US OPen 2006 AO 2008 & Wta Stuttgart 2012, 2013 Indian Wells 2013, Petra at Wimbledon 2011 & 2014, Kerber at the AO 2016, and now this one.
Oh and Justine Henin in 2007 FO &Us Open as well.
🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
When Danielle Collins is on she can practically blow any player off the court. Not sure why she is making 2024 her last season, but she did so well this tournament she's def a contender to win the US Open this year.
She was recently diagnosis with rheumatoid arthritis and she's on the highest end of the age range so I'm sure those have played into it.
She has this condition called rheumatoid arthritis. I don’t think , it hindered much her ability to play , but I bet it might be sometimes annoying for her . Plus , she briefly and indirectly expressed her desire to become a mom . Wtv she ultimately decide to do , I hope she’ll be happy and satisfied with her decision 🙂
She wants a family, so I don't blame her considering she's had injury problems over the years, and it'll be heavy on her body and arthritis to come back in her early 30s after having children. She's just playing like she's got nothing to lose now.
@@anonymous7851 oh dang thats tough I didn’t know
In this interview, she mentioned she wants to play many more finals with Rybakina so perhaps it's not the end yet of her career! ❤
How is the ceremony way longer than the match highlights
For Danielle's sake of course. You could figure THAT out!
For our qween of Florida you peasant!
@@yogadr6 It’s her last season not last tournament

Collins is still giving her thank you speech 😂...
LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

quality comment! well played :)
She is a fierce player and competitor. I was awestruck seeing her play against World No 1 IGA SWIATEK in Australian Open 2024 when she came from a set down and almost won. she is really graceful in victory and defeat. a great role model. She is at her peak and its unfortunate she decided to retire. she should carry on for few more years
She has arthritis and other health problems.
Tennis is very intense and I remember as Agnieszka Radwańska (career high no.2, Iga’s coach) retired at the age of 34 yrs old, she kept a few months pause and went back to the court to „warm up”. She said that her thighs were hurting so much that she regretted not to retire earlier.
@@jukkao.parviainen8669Steffi graff also retired at age 28 or 29 while she was still making to the finals. Ash barty retired at the peak of her career. Nobody's serena williams or big 3 who are gonna play till 40
@@arslaanpasha3334 I mean that extra five years from 29 or 30 can make a big difference on your back, on your thighs. Swiatek played over 70 matches last season. You don’t want to have pains normal for 60 yrs old. So that’s why I am saying Collin’s decision is a good one.
@@jukkao.parviainen8669 Well whatever suits her
100% danielle deserved to win!! Great to see her back playing with the talent shes got. Wish wasnt her last year on tour but hope she can keep it up for the rest of 2024
collins was on a mission like wow
Maybe the best champion's speech I've heard from the wta tour
Agree...
Her speech at AO 2022 was even greater... Classy lady...
@@juancarlosprevostzarate7077 classy lol no, screaming during the match in tense moments to hinder rybakina
@@deusexmachina9776Not even 1/4 of Sabalenka, or Lostapenko. Rybakina has or her fans always finds an excuse why she chokes in the important matches.
@@jukkao.parviainen8669 where did i say rybakina lost because of collins screams? i pointed out collins screaming at crucial moments to disprove the claim that she is classy
I love Rybakina but Collins deserves this one. Happy for her that she is playing the tennis of her life in her last year on tour. I have a feeling that maybe a grand slam final/title is coming also and I think it’s likely to happen at the US open.
Was thinking the exact same thing. Hope she skips the clay and is healthy for it.
Danielle has been on 🔥 this tournament. Congratulations 🥳 👏🏼
Incredible tournament for Danielle. If I’m not mistaken she only lost a single set the whole way and it was in the first round. She is so incredible at her best, I hope she can continue to play at this level for the rest of the year.
It’s one of the longest highlights video from WTA. Congrats Collins 🎉
Wonder why. Probably cuz American have won 😊
Did you watch the highlight? The match highlight is only 5min long. The rest is the awards ceremony.
GIrl its tennis for like 4 min the rest is trophy presentation.
@@rtito7842this broadcaster 😂😅🤣😂
@@rtito7842yeah long time no one wins 😂
I'm so happy for Collins. She deserved this title after taking some big names throughout her career. But equally sad 😢for Rybakina, who lost 2nd WTA 1000 final of thr year. Rybakina has been consistent for the last 2 years, but less big titles
Who cares she's still very young
Been saying it since last year her coach is toxic time for a change
I'm well pleased for Collins. She's always had the ability, but been rather unfortunate with injuries over the years. It's one hell of a way to sign off what's going to be her final WTA year. Nobody gave her a hope against Garcia, Alexandrova, or especially Rybakina, but she's basically wiped the floor with all of them.
Lots of ppl gave her chances against all those players. Stop with the lame cliche.
@@kevinlakeman5043 what "lame cliché"?
Wiped what floor? You probably watch this match facing backwards. Did this look like she dominated Rybakina to you? Rybakina gave her free points let her take that as her retirement fairytale run.
@@kevinlakeman5043 LOL Lots of people knew she had a chance!!!!...These people: are all rich now (IF THEY ARE BETTING FOLKS) because NO ONE....NO ONE gave Collins a chance
@@andehbridget1861 Right, Rybakina "let her win". I've heard that one before.

This is a scintillating performance by Danielle Collins....delighted to see her winning a Tier I title 👏👏👏👏👏👏. Rybakina is so gracious in defeat. Congratulations to both of them
This is why I love watching tennis. Both are champions! Ms Collins is so gracious in her speech.
Such a blessing to watch this live today. Top notch performance from both, yet Danielle simply went on warrior mode. Kudos to her and her hard work!
That speech was looooooong! She was really enjoying her moment and soaking it all in.
Home country, Home State, Home Run.....
Congratulations Danielle🎉
So happy for Danielle Rose, we love you babe!
Collins was on fire all tournament. She definitely earned this one, and in her final year on tour, I'm happy she finally got a 1000 title.
If this was the Oscar’s, the orchestra would have cut her off. LOL. I have mixed emotions. Totally happy she got a 1000 event in her last year, but also happy I don’t have to watch her anymore. LOL.
Congrats to Collins winning her first Masters!
Collins has one of my favorite backhands ever.
Best BH in tour right now period and best since Serena and Li Na
She hits a really good angle on her crosscourt backhand.
It’s crazy good
It has no weakness
Her backhand really insane
Congratulations Danimal! 🎉 What a riveting, gritty match that was.
Congratulations to Danielle
on the title!!! 👍🎾🏆🌹
Great game and well-deserved victory!
Well done!!! 👏👏👏
Good match ! Congratulations to both ! Congratulations Danielle for winning the title !❤Even if my favourite is Rybakina , you deserved this one !❤
Remarkable and classy athlete. Congratulations!
Collins what a great final you performed in this tournament. Love the spirit, Spartan.. congratulation from Indonesia
Congratulations to Collins, that’s a well deserved heavy weight trophy 🏆, let’s go girl, have fun in your last season !
“That was extraordinary….that was magnificent…”. Commentator says the same things over and over. Love the highlights where it’s just the players, the ball and the crowd with no commentary…
Danielle Collins is playing the best tennis of her life. She can beat anyone right now
Elle gagnera pas RG non plus faut pas rêver
Going into clay season, she wont be told that she can beat anybody right now
Well she's retiring this year so basically she's *wringing the cloth dry* @ this point.
Or in Layman's terms,
She aint gat nothin to lose.
Saddly enough Luka Nardi not beat Tommy Paul after Novak. Just a great business here
If she plays with the handbrake off like it's last chance saloon, then maybe. I don't think she'll fare too well in the clay season though.
Really happy for Dani. She's playing about the best I've ever seen from her. I wonder if she'll keep going, but appreciate she wants to start a family. Ash Barty stopped for the same reason, and it would be selfish for us fans to demand otherwise. Well done Dani.
rybakina lost this match before it started
when you listen how she talked after the semi
she was happy to have made it so far
that mental aspect just made the difference in the final because she definitely had enough chances to win it but just wasnt ruthless
Rybakina is great but she is one of those players for whom everything needs to be perfect to win big matches. She does not compete to win when she is not playing her best. Also her predictable play patterns need change and elvile if she really wants to win multiple grandslams ....
@Harris19941- Being ruthless is just not in Elena’s nature I’m afraid, it’s the one big flaw in her game and stops her winning multiple slams.
Big Congrats to Collins! What a week. Hope she continues this way throughout 2024.
Finally, you can make it. Congrats, Collins. Elena, you were play good. Hope you will win more GS next
How many of the players would retire by winning her first ever 1000 tournament at home turf? Such a dream come true for Collins. She displayed outstanding character and maturity throughout this tournament.
I wanted Elena to win but considering her coming back from ilness without of much practice reaching final itself exceeds expectation...I am happy for Collins being her last season and winning a WTA1000 title will give her unforgettable memories after retirement...
Rybakina is my favorite player, but this time I’m glad with the results anyway, well deserved, great career. Congratulations!
I feel exactly the same!❤
Same 💪
Danielle Collins deserves this win. She's a super hard worker and a darn good player! Kudos to Danielle!!
Danielle’s backhand is world class. Hope she can keep this level of play up for the rest of the season.
Aside from maybe never going behind Rybakina (even on her 1st championship point!), I don't think Collins really could've played better. Massive congrats and credit to her for beating a player of Rybakina's level.
unfortunately, danielle has never played that level of tennis before & she will need to produce it if she wants to a grand slam! but she played very well & deserved her win!!
OMG🤩🤩🤩 Stunning 💪👍 She has always use her offensive style of play, which is amazing. I enjoyed watching her play👍 So proud of her🌸💝
Just watched the replay again. This tournament had some ridiculously great matches; ATP and WTA. This was certainly one. Wonder if fatigue was indeed causing a couple of errors late for Rybakina. Either way, brilliant stuff from Collins.
Yes Danielle!!! So glad that she got this tournament win. ❤❤❤
So Happy to see Danielle win this.. I can't help but pull for collegiate players.. They have such a small window to be pro compared to those that go on tour at 14. Also an under-rated beauty..
Sooo beautiful
The mental thing made the difference. Rybakina allowed herself to be intimidated - and was perhaps also totally burnt out.
danielle played without fear knowing it's her last season! next year she will be in the commentary box - she has a touch of chris evert about her!! no doubt she will be rooting for elena then!
Congratulations to Collin’s ! You can tell when she fight the simifinal game, we know if she can play like that she’ll be the champ, congratulations to her performing especially this Miami open, 👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Collins is a good player and a good speaker too! ❤👏👏👏
I just love how Danielle fights no matter what. I also love that she was not a player of financial privilege and that she had to play at the public parks, play her way through college, and earn her way to the top of professional tennis. She did it the hard way and I respect her for it!
One of most important reason why she is my favorite WTA player! Among other reasons... I was stunned when I saw her reaching SF in AO 2019 and she became my favorite player since
Please Danielle, don't retire yet. You're an inspiration for all of us. WTA needs you. At least one more year.❤❤❤
Hopefully she reconsiders
James Blake sounded like he was giving us a player speech out there for a moment 😅
A magical moment for Collins on her final season. What an incredible performance she put on. I wish her the best of luck.
Yes, Happy Easter :) !
She's pulling the Bartoli-Pennetta. Make the best final season of your tennis career and retire in peace knowing you gave it your all to make the ending as sweet as possible.
This part
Congrats to Collins. Heads up Rybakina … you are evolving every year and still a massive fan of your style of tennis.
Knew this would happen , Elena was sick and played too many long matches, Danni was fresh, in the best physical shape since 2021 and in great form and ... she won. But why retire Danni ? Clearly, with your fitness and form , you're in grand slam winning shape !
Congratulations to my sweet and beautiful Danielle Collins, I’m extremely proud of you, please continue playing your best tennis and good luck to you 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Rybakina has a pure soul. Congrats to Danielle.
Danielle is so sweet 😭😭 so happy for her! ❤
Two beauties in the final! I don't know much about tennis, but I watched it all the time. The strongest won. Elena has all the victories ahead of her.
Congratulations, Danielle! ❤🎉
I am so happy for her 🥺❤️. This is the type of tennis we all know and love Danielle for. Such an incredible player and fighter ❤️
Ms. Danielle this is your tournament 👏 🙌 I'm so happy for you ❤️ congratulations 🎊 to all Americans women, we got doubles too!!!🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾
Hard to hide my sympathy for Lena but Danielle was playing absolutely unbelievable this week in Miami. Well deserved title for Collins, the biggest in her career, congratulations!
It's best time for her to win a slam right now this year before she retires, like what fabio's wife did.
My warmest congratulations to Danielle for her excellent performance at this tournament. Elena is my favorite tennis player. Unfortunately, I have never seen her so painfully tired. I think that this is due not only to the difficult tournament schedule but also to some health problems that she needs to think about and pay attention to.
Danielle on fire the entire tournament. When she’s on, she can obviously do a ton of damage. Well done, DC ! 💪💪👏👏
Dany played liked a boss today . Rybakina did nothing wrong regarding her game . She had a good game plan : Solid serve , and made her opponent move around the court as much as possible . Didn’t choke . Unlocked her killer instinct when she needed to and kept her fighting spirit when she needed to . A well deserved title. I was rooting for her , and I’m glad she got this title right before retiring . Good for her 🙂
lol no rybakina has so many enforced errors, more than 40 and less than 30 winners
@@deusexmachina9776 lol yes. That’s what happened when you make her move side to side around the court . She has the tendency to become nervous and hit tones of ue. That’s one of her weaknesses .
@@deusexmachina9776 5:03
Don't try to make the loser be a winner because she made errors Lol 😂😂😂
This is sport ! If no mistake - never be a winner 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
@@chay2033
Rybakina has done better than this on the move for most of this year.
The Rybakina that has to stay in the middle of the baseline to win matches is gone but in this tournament she didn’t know her limitations after being sick for so long so she played a little more conservative than she has in Brisbane and Abu Dhabi and Doha.
Once she starts playing tournaments in succession again and starts practicing regularly again we will start to see the Rybakina that won Brisbane without dropping a set again.
@@deusexmachina9776 let me give you the exact numbers of winners/unforced errors for both: Collins- 24 winners, 37 UEs. Rybakina- 27 winners, 41 UEs. Therefore, Collins was at -13, and Rybakina was at -14. You're making it seem that Rybakina was playing very bad and Collins was playing very good. What this stat tells analysts is that Rybakina was trying to end points quickly more than Collins because she didn't have much energy in the tank. No disrespect intended to you.
I think Rybakina needs to work on her ground strokes or volleys. Too many unforced errors.
Rybakina has one of the best serves on womens tennis but half the games the opponent serves so she needs to work on winning points when shes not serving.
She has the best 1st serve in women's tennis and no one is even close. It's the rest of her game that are only slightly better than average which keeps her from winning matches quickly.
Danielle!!!! Congratulations from IGA fan👏👏👏👏👏👍👊!!!!!

First off, I'd like to congratulate Danielle Collins for achieving her greatest win ever. Even if this will be the last trophy she'll ever hoist before she retires at the end of the year, she had already won a tournament which some of the great, great players have not ever won. I'm a full-blooded man, but had to shed some tears during the trophy ceremony because I empathized with her humble beginnings and how much this win means to her and her career. Great win, Danielle. You deserve it, girl. Go get that first slam and complete your WTA tour trophy set.
By the way Danielle Collins has such a beautiful face!
Very pretty indeed. .
& body!!!
Finally a little noise and passion. Congrats Danielle.
Yes!!! DC silenced the haters who thought Rybakina would win the match handily. The final game was intense.
I’ve been following Danielle for years. She has played some amazing tennis while dealing with medical issues. Two tournament wins and almost winning in Australia. Then the Miami win. She didn’t just win, she dominated the whole tournament. She lost the first game of the first match, one the next two 6-1 6-1. She never lost another game and all by playing against really good opponents. When she is healthy and on her game she is dominant. She plays up on the back line which is intimidating, although for the first time I’ve ever seen, she made an adjustment and played a bit back yesterday. She has a nasty serve and some of her most consistent serving throughout the tournament. When she’s on, her backhand is devastating and she had great accuracy throughout along with her forehand. Awesome win and so happy for her.
This made me emotional! I’m so freaking happy happy for Danielle! She’s feisty, and works some crazy angles at her best!
Bravo Danielle! Great play throughout the tournament and incredible determination to win! The last game of the final was very exciting. @WTA, is there a chance for a little longer highlights than 5 minutes in future? At least from the later rounds of tournaments?

Good for “Danimal” to win this 1000 tourney in her home state before retirement. I know she is not the fan favorite of many people because of the screaming and her on court demeanor. If she was a man, I think she would be far more popular With her game face and highly competitive nature. 🇺🇸 women’s tennis will miss her when she’s gone after the year. Coco is the only other top 🇺🇸 playing well these days (Navarro has a long way to go to be competitive in GS’s)

I really hope Danielle reconsiders her retirement, but ultimately its up to her and if her body is able.
Her arthritis is likely to mean no, she won't reconsider, especially as she wants children too, but tennis players often regret retiring early, so it wouldn't surprise me if she decides to come back.
So pleased for Danielle such a great player who plays with such passion. Well done❤
Winning a 1000WTA tourney is one thing, but winning it in your own state is another BIG THANG! Congratulations to you Collins. This is a win well deserved. Wishing you all the best in the next phase of your life.
