    If you tip it with shrimps , you are defeating the purpose of the challenge IMO

      The Fish Bites or FishGum makes the Smell of the Bait Better.. They last Longer and have cloth mesh inside.. Trust Me.. The stuff works Right by itself Without "tipping it" with Real Bait ..

    Accurate video. Why? Every fisherman has said "I'm going to try (or compare) ______ today". Yeah man, when stuff isn't biting, those challenges, etc go straight out the window. So which is better Fishbites or Fishgum? Answer: yes

    • @RustyReels
      @RustyReels  2 роки тому +2

      True lol I plan on redoing this eventually but rode with the punches

    I like gum better than bites because the gum disperses faster. fishbites last forever that I usually have to cut them off. Gum usually catches more than the bites as well.

    Nice video brother surf fishing is fun but we don't really have much surf here. Always boat traffic and jet skis.

    Another great video!! Just curious on what rod/reel setups you use. Is the blue one a Penn Wrath? Also, we’re you down by the point at Honeymoon Island? I’ve been there few times and caught a monster snook from the beach using Penn Pursuit 4K on an Ugly Stik Bigwater.

    • @RustyReels
      @RustyReels  3 роки тому +2

      The blue one is penn pursuit 3 2500 on a sixgill akylos. Definitely not for the surf but I don’t have a lot of surf gear yet haha the other small red one of penn fierce 2500 on an ugly stick carbon. The biggest one is a Daiwa BG 6500 on an ugly stik big water heavy and the old quantum one is just a cheaper combo but it’s still alive and kicking haha

    Hey bro you'll get there....just keep doing what you're doing 👍🏾 I've never tried the fish gum but I'm seeing a lot of people going to it. I'm used to the fish bites, even though I haven't had much luck on it but on occasion I'll have something pick it up....usually a catfish or stingray. It works, but like you said, you never know what mood fish may be in when they eat so you just throw anything you have at them if you can(a kitchen sink too if you can help it lol!)

    • @RustyReels
      @RustyReels  3 роки тому +2

    • @reynardwilliams281
      @reynardwilliams281 3 роки тому +1

      @@RustyReelsthe clam flavor is okay but personally I prefer the shrimp or the sand flea flavor...just seems to get a better response from those two. Pompano are kinda fickle fish to me....they want clam one day, then switch completely to sand fleas the next day! A pompano jig is good for a backup plan too in case they sometime just want to be buttheads lol!

    Mixing both together what’s the point of that.
