  • The Bible calls us to a holy defiance of the status quo-Paul the apostle said, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). Perhaps no one in the Old Testament did this better than the prophet Daniel. In this message, we look at four truths about the Christian life and learn how Daniel was able to rise above his society to defy normal.
This teaching is from our Individual Topical series with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

Wow, I’m 64 and new to God and the Bible. Raised Catholic and never got anything out of it. Rarely went to church. I started reading the Bible in Nov 2018 and realized I needed to find a new church. In March I found out I was very ill. Because of my illness a friend got me in touch with a non denominational church. I attended my first service on Feb 23rd. Spoke with the pastor after the service. It was at that moment I felt Gods love and accepted Jesus as my savior. Two week later I was having open heart surgery and God was by my side. Ten months later I’m still studying the Bible. I’m so glad I found your videos. So many religious frauds preaching today. Without doubt you are the real deal. You remind me of the pastor I spoke with when I found out I was sick. If you want to read more of my story do a google search for
Mended Hearts The best investment I ever made.

I too was born, raised Catholic, a dead spirited religion, but when found god thru non-denomination, Calvary churches, felt at home for 1st time. Skip is one of the Best. Got baptized by him in CA 2002, he is disown to earth, realist, exactly how god uses a "out of the box" thinking, inspiring.

Love and miss you skip in CA, but still inspired by your awesome uplifting, out of the box thinking, teaching. You are exactly what god uses to reach ordinary people in a struggling world. There are baptisms in the ocean in oc where you once did them I remember when you were here.

Thank you, thank you very much! This is one of the best things that happened to us during this quarantine….discovering your sermons from Calvary Church. We are from the Philippines, also from a bible believing church. May The Lord bless and protect Pastors like you!

When is breaking the mosaic law ok? Like David ate bread that he shouldn't, but he was hungry, which is more important since it triumphs the law. Because, "the law is made for man, not man for the law", if we were in similar situation, is law a priority over our life?

I have heard these types of questions asked several times. I would like to attempt to answer. The first thing that we have to understand is that the image of God takes priority, and God would not want for His children to die due to legalism, but live in loyal and loving service. Back in WW2, there were Germans who hid Jews in their homes and when the Nazi’s would search homes looking for Jewish people and the German homeowners would lie. The homeowner would tell the Nazi’s that there were no Jews in their home and this lie was used in the preservation of life. It was a breaking of one of the commandments, which is the basis of the law, but it was to overcome evil and love the Jewish people. Love is supposed to be the basis of everything. There are very few circumstances where you are having to choose, but I would focus on the Ten Commandments over the Mosaic law. The Ten Commandments were given directly from God and still apply today, whereas the Mosaic law was given to us to help the children of Israel, who had just come out of Egypt, shed the habits that had become instilled in them while in the land of Egypt

Doesn't it bother you to see UA-cam videos that lack substance with millions of views and this edifying sermon have only 17,000 views in 5 years?
