I’m a rap and RNB fan but heard spit it out first and thought “yea that was cool” then I heard duality... I became a fan. Till this day I get so fired up and angry hearing it.
I love this performance. This was during the time when Coreys voice was fucked but he brought it hard and everyone had hella energy. I bet this shit was amazing being there.
Would never happen today. This is back when mtv was influential and played everything, and didn’t try to appeal to the masses. Music appreciation history right here!
Jesus....now this is probably the best live performance during volume 3. Corey's scream sounds so brutal and it doesn't sound like a duck like in some of his others.
the thing about it is, nobody can replace his personality and his creativity as an artist. No one can replace him as a person he's much more than just a band member to them. of course you can hit a beer keg, anybody can. But only one person is the Clown \m/
I believe that rock and metal music should also really have a special place at the Grammys and it should be televised. Rock and metal live performances are mostly better and more energetic and intense than R&B and pop music live performances.
It's not about what instrument they play, it's about what they bring to the table in terms of music writing, stage presence, and relationship with the band. It's like saying that if someone you love dies you can just "replace them." It doesn't happen.
TMF awards 2004 in Antwerp, Belgium, I heard a rumour that day they were ging to perform on that show in between all those belgian pop and dance and electronic crap, I thought it was a hoax, and then i saw them on television being anounced and hitting the stage, damn they have balls xD
I agree completely. Corey's voice has come a long way since this year, and he's 100% better as far as intonation and his screamo voice is just badass sounding. And as for the drummer well... Joey Jordison... Nuff said
Luis Gerardo de la Vega Yeah that would be a fat chance in hell that the American Grammys would allow these guys play unfortunately unless it was a softer song
Actually he did blew out his voice its evident during this era and especially in 2008 his voice was much more growler and deeper matter of fact Corey actually needed a voice coach during I believe 2004/2005 or probably before..nowadays he's getting his voice back
If you knew a thing about music, you might be able to appreciate the multi-percussion arrangement this band has going on, because for your information Heavy Metal is not just guitar riffs, and soaring vocals. He was the original drum kid player, but he steped aside for Joey Jordanson. He made the band's image, and is a big part of their sound.
The world can't handle great music that's why it's not as mainstream anymore. It's almost underground. They may play big shows but it's not as televised. You either have to be there or watch it online
The chaos that makes up the entire percussion track for this song combined with clowns giving drums cpr and beating the shit out of trash cans makes this probably the best slipknot video I’ve ever seen
Back when mtv actually had great quality when they had slipknot because it's all rap today or pop music it all sucks today I cant wait till slipknot comes back in 2 years
If this was the Grammys, people would explode and there would be human sauce everywhere! I would def be there up front ears bleeding and all, Slipknot is amazing!
i would LOVE to see all the "artist" there and their faces after they found out what real AMAZING talent is. :) i bet it was priceless!!! march on my fellow maggots!!!
back when metal and rock had a place on MTV
Alex Williams i never watched MTV but i bet my usless country that it was great
back when music had a place on MTV
On TV in general
MTV used to actual be great for music. Then they stopped having music.
@@wiscomitch3412 Now the people prefer YT.
>240p
>great quality
pick one
You have the best channel name ever
***** No need to such aggression.
Electric Soldier Porygon!!! Maybe the quality is awseome when you push your fingers into your eyes
+GT8686 u get upvote
It's actually the sound quality so it's right.
Poor little yuppie crowd wasn't ready for that
theres a few in there that where
Nah if it was Iowa that'd been different but this was the most commercially viable album slipknot made.
@@skudddruminganchaos ya and it had tons of bangers on it lol
Bad thing is it isn’t even one of the heaviest songs. I wish I could see whitechapel or oceano perform at the Grammys I would die laughing
Lol the crowd is literally selected to be there. It’s not random people
This is when the Grammies had good music performances.
Correct ; )
they still do, have you seen tyler the creator’s performance?
This was MTV. Check the top left corner of the video.
The grammies lol
I remember seeing this on tv back then and i was super creeped out by them, now Slipknot is one of my favourite bands, how times have changed haha
I was the same way
Myrthe Nina Damn you a hott little metal cutie
Brandon Guindon dafuq waa that comment?? Flirting on youtube? Rofl
I think shit on MTV is scary these days
Totally agree. Was like wtf at first, but now loving it !!
back when mtv played music
they've always played music, they just play really bad music now a days.
+JBell300 I think its not even MTV, it was MTV2 that was really about music more than mtv at that time
+Joseph Ginter It's been a while since i have seen MTV play music. They always air reality shows
+JBell300 Who acres, nobody fucking watches TV anymore anyway.
+Digital Ghost well I still do. u must not get cable or satellite where u live. sorry bro
I’m a rap and RNB fan but heard spit it out first and thought “yea that was cool” then I heard duality... I became a fan. Till this day I get so fired up and angry hearing it.
these guys make dope music man you need to listen to more of it off of their self titled album and maybe wait and bleed, all great songs
Good stuff to gym to!
I love this performance. This was during the time when Coreys voice was fucked but he brought it hard and everyone had hella energy. I bet this shit was amazing being there.
Vol 3 songs were near perfect live at that time, but for everything else you could tell his voice was shot after so much touring.
"Great quality"
+Julián Perdomo Awesome~
+Julián Perdomo 2008 lmfao
To be Honest, he said "Great Quality" not "High Defenition".
Julián Perdomo he's talking about the performance or slipknot. wink wink.
240p is best quality... 10 years ago :)
Would never happen today. This is back when mtv was influential and played everything, and didn’t try to appeal to the masses. Music appreciation history right here!
Casuals finally get a dose of metal :).
This was at head bangers ball not Grammies you idiot
Thanks cool guy. You've really helped me out. Here's a cookie. Now fuck off.
Vehement Badger I
We need more metal at the Grammies, and more bands like Slipknot on the stage!
I love how much you can hear Paul in this mix, it’s actually a really cool bassline
yeah... a few people in that audience were like "wtf is this?!?!? I thought Taylor Swift was performing next!?!?!"
Taylor swift probably wasn't famous back at this performance.
Mini deadmouse Zahhak this was back in 2006 if im not completely wrong...
This isnt the american grammys by the way. And this was from 2006.
im like 4 years late but this was in scandinavia so this was probably the least heavy song played
@@Talos827 fun fact: she was named Taylor Swift to make her name appear gender neutral lol
Somebody was there to see brittney spears and this came on. They probably dat in the back crying, they probably felt violated.
Jacob Clegg yeah they probably wanted to hear the song Barbie girl lol
Somebody was there to see Slipknot and then Britney Spears came on. Maggots were in the back crying, feeling raped. (It goes both ways, pal.)
Be happy with both to be fair
This is the headbangers ball not the Grammies
That mask is beautiful.
patrick22014 which one out of the nine? Or did you mean "those masks are beautiful"?
CR7TheGunner Mate, this comment is 3 years old, but I'm sure he meant Corey's mask.
@@ryan127x and now your comment is 3 years old
Ima get that vol 3 mask tatted on me because I think it’s straight beauty
@@paradigmshiftz7 I just got a notification for this tread lmao I meant Corey's.
I still cannot believe they let Slipknot to a full concert-style performance at the Grammys.
Wish you seen more acts like this on TV
Jesus....now this is probably the best live performance during volume 3. Corey's scream sounds so brutal and it doesn't sound like a duck like in some of his others.
9.0 live was pretty bad, lol. That live album was during the mid-end of their 2yr vol3 tours.
Check out Jay Leno performance in 2004- best in my opinion. Camera work is way better too.
Did you just say
how many maggots do you think were created that day?
+Jake Herington because people listened to fetty wap in 2008 you fucking dumbass
YUNG ASTRO Ħ¥₱Ξ I was talking about present day when I referenced Fetty Wap idiot.
+YUNG ASTRO Ħ¥₱Ξ this was like 2004 or 2005 dumbass.
+Jake Herington this was the headbangers ball. says it in the top right corner
People who go to the Grammies go to see pop and pop rock along with mediocre mumble rap. This probably scared the shit out of them.
Subliminal Verses will always be my favorite Slipknot album and among my top 5 favorite metal albums. Gives me chills looking back over a decade ago.
the thing about it is, nobody can replace his personality and his creativity as an artist. No one can replace him as a person he's much more than just a band member to them. of course you can hit a beer keg, anybody can. But only one person is the Clown \m/

Back when the Grammys aloud good musicians to preform and people good appreciate good music.
"don't you run with that Grammy slipknot!"
"rawwrrrrrrrrrr I pushed this Grammy into my eyesssssssss"
This is headbangers ball, not the grammy's
Rest in peace joey and Paul 😭😭
Best Duality Ever.
"Great Quality"
Sound is horrible, too.
2008 dude... 480p was considered Ultra HD
Wish metal bands today got this opportunity to play live. So many great bands that could be given the spotlight nowadays.
great quality wow you could have fooled Sherlock holmes with this shit
Look when it was posted, 2008... It was great quality then.
thats pretty fucking clear judging by the quality you dumb fuck
Riley Derifield audio quality is pretty good tho

That performance is so much insane!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Joey is simply brilliant.
Nobody in Slipknot is replaceable.
cool to hear the aluminum bat hit that keg, I'm guessing
This was back when metal was welcome on national television and not labeled satanic or something else.
He plays drums faster than every one I knows. :) He has my respect. :)
the best performance of this song to date
one of the best masks corey has worn i have to say :D
He contributes to the writing process just as much as everyone else does. They write together. he doesnt just hit a keg and make millions.
To this day
It gives me goosebumps
Still a gem in 2024
One of the greatest metal bands of all time singing one of their best. Slipknot is ridiculous.
If only still had music like this play at the grammies
if you see a video that says great quality u know it can only be 240p XD
Truuuuuue 😂😂😂😂💀💀💀💀👌👌👌👌
This describes what I've been going through so much every week for the past couple of weeks!!!!!!!!I really needed this!!!!!!!

great quality thanks
wow what great performance and that bass sounds awsome
This isn't the grammys lol
Not the american but the swedish ones.
Luis Gerardo de la Vega Yeah that would be a fat chance in hell that the American Grammys would allow these guys play unfortunately unless it was a softer song
Yeah. Only joey Corey Paul and I think Chris went to the Grammys
Zachary Shepard clown did too smh
Zachary Shepard clown joey paul sid!

desde donde empieza hasta donde termina es un re temazo uno de los mejores temas que tiene slipknot

Corey kicked ass in this performance
No matter who u are you will go crazy on this FUCKING BANGER!
On point with the bat
You know the real reason they wear masks is because their music will rock your face off.
The reason is that they don't want to be judge by how their face looked. Ironically.
Great voice
corey is slipknot and slipknot wouldnt exist without him
Love Slipknot
im proud of these guys
Smh they should've preformed spit it out lol!!!!
Where they make the crowd sit then jump the f-up

Yes. This is Slipknot - Duality.
None of them would replace any one else in the band. They respect and love each and every one else in the band like a family.
Snuff said.
