This is one of the reasons why this saviour sibling is not really positive. I mean you are literally harvesting parts from one child to give to another child. Possibly, making one child sick to make another healthy. So sad.
Its either that or watch your child fade and die because the things needed to save them are HEAVILY not available due to donor laws and hugely specific genetic matches. Savior siblings are a way to mitigate them. Yes it sucks but at some point you just have to pick what you can live with. Besides Buck never even got harvested, Daniel died before he was born so id say its a moot point.
@@Degamer422 yes. It’s an actual thing that happens all the time that why they made that one movie where the little girl fights for her rights to not do it and her mom is the lawyer fighting her telling her she’s horrible for not wanting to save her sister and such. It’s very sad but it happens a lot more than you’d think
I know what Buck is feeling. I’m a saviour sibling and let me tell you, it is an awful feeling knowing you were born to be spare parts for someone else. When you tell people, they try to make it this big brave thing that you were born to be a hero and it’s better to than being born an accident like most people but no one gets it. They say I should feel special but unless you are a saviour sibling you don’t understand and every circumstance is different. The older sibling could live or die, could live and get sick again and you’re needed again or they could be fine forever and it’s possible you could live with never being told. Buck lived through all them years of not knowing is an actual blessing. I grew up knowing the truth and let me tell you, I wish I could forget. I only know a few other people who are saviour siblings and inside we all feel the same way, one guy tries to see the positives of it when people find out but he said deep inside he still feels the same way we all do, he just puts on a mask so his parents don’t feel guilty. Sucks to be us.
@@FrankieAdds didn’t get an alert of your comment, welcome fellow saviour sibling. Omg do you ever get people looking at you like you have two heads when you explain what you are? How many saviour siblings have you met?
I am personally not a Savior Sibling! But bottom line is you are entitled to feel how you feel. There are plenty of other situations people go through as kids that are difficult just like this but in a different way and they’re able to express the hurt and be understood with that hurt! Not everyone has the same feelings about situations and a lot of times that sucks because you feel invalidated. Which is another hurt in itself on top of what you’re already feeling! As someone who feels things deeply and has felt things deeply my whole life I am deeply sorry you hurt the way you do, but you are valued and you matter just as much! Sending so much love to all of you! & just always remember while you may have been brought into this world for specific reasons you are loved, you are cared for and you MATTER! ♥️
I’ve always wanted to have a big family but my daughter was born with sickle cell so we decided not to continue having kids. The only way we can, with for sure knowledge they won’t have sickle cell, is ivf, the “cure” for sickle cell is bone marrow from a sibling match. I would love to have another kid and I always thought the bonus plus would be a sibling match but this sounds like a horrible experience for a child.

One thing that I don’t think people point out much because everything else is already awful enough is they never told their son that he has a family history of leukaemia. Something which 100% could have effected his health, and if he *did* get sick it'd be less likely that he'd have gone to the doctor early because he had no idea he's potentially at risk
The Buckley's are truly horrible parents, and despite what is said, horrible people. I mean, they didn't even make a baby box for him like they did for Maddie because the only reason he existed was to save their other son and that didn't work. So they treated him like an unwanted child because he "failed" at the purpose they had him for. And they never improved their behavior despite the passage of decades. Even in the present time, it's still all about them and their hurt feelings.
@@Degamer422I think if they used JLH's real birthday instead of giving Maddie a new, younger one, Buck as Maddie's teen pregnancy baby wouldve worked. Absolutely better than this.

I love Maddie so much but she should have told him after Doug died. I get not telling him when she first came to LA she had a lot going on with Doug stalking her. But after that? No. He should have known. And she definitely should have told him before telling Chimney! You can’t say “they made me keep it a secret”…..then tell his co-worker! Then there’s Chimney. Again, love him but dude was MASSIVELY out of line a lot this ep! 1st with trying to spill the secret to the guy who’s living with Buck! Then for telling a fucking BOMBER?! Does he forget Buck’s live was once derailed by a deranged bomber?! Are you insane? You don’t give a bomber personal information about a teammate. Your team needs to trust you in the field and this? A massive violation of Buck’s trust! Then when the secret finally does come out he uses fact they work together to try and pressure Buck into talking to Maddie when he said he needed time. Like come on! Give him time to process rather than just laying on the guilt and telling him Maddie’s story so he’ll feel bad and go to her before he’s had a chance to feel what he needs to feel! Then there’s the fact she ambushed him at work to try get him to talk to her. Leave him be! You had years! Give him a few weeks at least?! Plus the fact she invited the parents and didn’t warn him ahead of time so he had the option of not being at the dinner. Instead she pulled the “we’re in this together! Pinky swear!” Stuff, knowing how badly they treat him.
I disagree. It's been four seasons of 911. Pretty much all characters have had a full on back story or a begins episode. So no I don't think or feel that Buck's story was rushed or pushed on.

It's fucked up that his parents blame him for his cells mot working they janky 4 dat shit
