This album was an absolute banger for me…..peter is a mastermind with hypocrisy…..still one of the best out there representing swedish death metal 👽👽🔥🔥….
Haha, you mentioned Marduk's "Bleached Bones", guess who mixed and produced the album ? It's Peter Tägtgren. The guy worked on so many iconic albums, it's insane.
I'll never stop saying it: Tägtgren is the best growler out there in my book. While I'd prefer you sticking with Hypocrisy reactions, I'd accept a Bloodbath one. "Nightmares Made Flesh" is the one album he made with them. And I'd say it's their best. Still his best vocal performance to date. So if you want more of his vocal prowess, something off it would be the shit. "Eaten" is the most recognizable song. But "Outnumbering The Day" is my favorite. And Tägtgren has a solid voice overall. There are Hypocrisy tracks where he outright sings or layers it behind the growls. I guess we'll see if you ever get to those.
@@BaldHeadedMETAL Honestly don't know how serious his commitment was to the band. Only did one album either way. In-between Mikael Åkerfeldt's two albums. I get the impression Bloodbath was always a side-project, and only became more of a "fulltime" band recently. Which is a shame because I don't really like them now with Nick Holmes fronting them.
i tried to give this albuma second listen to see how my opnion changes and ill give it a third. So far i feel the same i love the first half and lose it on the second half. I'm glad you love it!

It's a solid album. Far from their best outing. Honestly expected more after 8 years of silence. But what can you do. Still a welcome addition. Actually first album I'm somewhat disappointed in since I got into them. Will probably become one of those albums you get back to once in a while when fatiguing on the best material, and it'll be surprisingly good because you haven't heard it in a while. This is an okay starting point for newcomers. If you like the sound it will only get better as you backtrack the discography.
Just wanna add that Worship really is Hypocrisy through and through. More of the same. They didn't really do anything different back then. This album just didn't reach the same level as their previous work. I know it isn't the case, but I could totally believe this was mostly cut songs from previous albums. In summary: if you liked the sound it will only get better from here. It might not blow your mind since it's in the same vein, but you'll enjoy it heck of a lot more. Can almost guarantee it.
So i wasnt wrong about that...no i like the sound so ill definetly be diving deeper. I dont know if ill do an album reaction but i will at the very least do areview so we can chat about it
@@BaldHeadedMETAL Honestly, don't blame you. "Virus" is rarely mentioned but it's sick. Somewhat of an outlier because it's their most "modern sounding" album by far. And probably their most complete album at that. If you're like me and are more about the "album experience" rather than picking favorites/playlists, Virus is probably your best bet going forwards. While it's not my favorite it's probably the one to go for if you were to do another album reaction. And speaking of albums, are we still getting an Insomnium album reaction? While Hypocrisy is dearer to me, at this point that might prove a bigger success. Or Amorphis for that matter (as long as it's Skyforger, *wink wink*).

@@BaldHeadedMETAL I've been a super fan of HYPOCRISY since the beginning (got the logo tattood on my arm) I will agree that this is not there best album but it is HYPOCRISY. Check out the 3 songs I suggested maybe do a 3 song reaction in one. I'ts 3 albums following each other there 4, 5 & 6th albums. The first 2 songs you will get almost a black metal vibe and the 3rd is just a slow mellow trippy kind of a song. If you want to hear HYPOCRISY old school death metal check out there First 2 albums PENETRALIA & Osculum Obscenum but Peter does not do vocals on the first and not all of the 2nd album tracks. The 3 album THE FOURTH DIMENTION is a great album but much slower (mid tempo like you would say) There you have my 5c worth.

I have no idea what point you were trying to make. I never said Tom Araya is a great singer. Nor did i say this album is bad. But like i said i have a feeling this is not the best hypocrisy has released and i stand by that...most songs were decent but for the exception of 3-4 songs, i wasnt blown away. If you want me to make a direct comparison i think exodus had a stronger album than this with persona non grata. But even then different genres and of course preferences. Also im tired of the 12 yr old arguments of "you must listen to hip hop"...whats wrong with good hip hop?
