This is my favorite base video I have ever watched - no joke. It seems like this base could be really dun to play in. I feel like the charm of "no cheese" bases is that they tend to be just as fun as they are functional. I hope you make more builds like this one. I will be trying many elements of this build in my multiplayer world with my own castle design. I am trying to figure out the best way to have multiple fighting positions for each player to have a different experience during the horde without screwing with the pathing.
cool base. I think it would be nice to have some videos on building "realistic" living bases (like a castle) - not intended for horde night but just look really cool
I love watching these videos... Despite the fact that I do the pro and easy base design of knock out the stairs and ladders on a downtown building and then hanging out on the roof relaxing. It's also the "realism" version of things (since that seems to be the motivation, no floating/cheese blocks). Ain't no one in a real apocalypse not fortifying the ground floor and then going up in an existing building (or down, but TFP said NO!).
Basically the ultimate no cheese design is running on street level while high as a kite on steroids, coffee, and megacrush. No cheese, no abuse just running and gunning all night long XD.
I do like these. I think it would be fun to show the cheese and no-cheese options side-by-side. In any case I like your bullet-proof explanations of what cheese is and is not.
hmmmm, when I play with friends, we generally all pick one or two attributes to maximize everyone getting books, etc. to share. Each player focuses on one or two attributes. I'm curious if you can design a co-op horde base with all play styles in mind for fighting positions. edit: I also like how you rolled out the red carpet for zombies here.
That was a cool build. You are right, "tricking" the zombies with the door frame shapes is not cheese. If they were not pathable, it would be different. As always, excellent video! Thank you both!
Loving the no cheese builds. My concern with this build is that you might get into trouble if a cop or Demo explodes and takes the ladder out, or have you already addressed that? Anyway, love the build and looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. Maybe a pure dexterity build parcour fun park??
And I am enjoying building them! In my various horde tests, I never once had trouble with demos or cops knocking out the ladder. Is it possible? Probably but I think if you are semi careful, you should be okay. Unless I could get a clear headshot on the demo, I would just let him get knocked off rather than explode.
Another amazing video 🤗 I felt the Taco comment and felt so bad because I had just told my friend a specific build of our base was unsightly and ugly 😅 I probably didn't need to say both 🤦♀️ I'm also bad with ladders haha I dig the design a lot. I'm not anti cheese because I don't fully know what cheese is even though I've been playing for a bit but only watch you and double g, so not up on the terms. I know creative stuff is looked down upon but didn't know the blocks available weren't lol but I love learning new things. ☆Maybe I missed it but what do you do with animals since you use a ladder? Another amazing build and video, well done
Never be afraid to call out an ugly base haha! That way it can be remodeled and improved! There are times when doing my builds where I'll tear down a part I don't quite like...just a part of the process! Cheese kind of means something different to anyone. Basically at its core, it is using an "unfair" tactic/strategy/mechanic to win. In this context, that would mean exploiting any bugs, any gimmicky AI pathing quirks, building a base that looks more like a wipeout course rather than something grounded in realism. As for ladders, taco will be glad she is not alone! Animals, should they spawn will collect at the bottom and try to run up the stairs like the rest of them. So you simply take them out as you see them with explosives or guns.
I adore this base but was wondering why you need the tower right from the starter base. It's really pretty, but does it have a specific function other than looking awesome? (BTW currently building a version of your electric no-cheese base on co-op... looking forward to seeing how it works and whether we broke it by adapting!)
The only purpose of the tower at the start is to just give you a place to retreat or fight from. It also doesn't need the aesthetics to look pretty though I would maintain that is important :D You could feasibly just use the side wall as well and forgo the tower. There are definitely a lot of variations on the design you could do. Best of luck!
It can but if you put it a have a block below TO have contact with the knees it wont set off the demolisers, The Normal turrets do Slap the b3wbs of a demolishers that's where you HAVE to be careful
The only concern I would have are the animals that cannot climb ladders. Would they waste themselves on the wall, or path to and destroy the ladder path?
They would run up as far as they could go and then beat on their surroundings. So you could take them out while the go along the door trim area, or at the base of the ladder.
Love or hate the no cheese builds? Feel free to share your ideas of what you'd like to see next!
That's right, the zombies go in the square hole!
*sobs*
Omg 🤣 epic

Glad you liked the build! It's all about finding that sweet spot of functional but fun.
Very informative, definitely one of the best 7d2d builders out there
Appreciate that :)

Interesting idea, thanks for sharing :)

It is a bit tricky to do certain things that make sense in reality like building underground. But there is some fun in trying to make things work!
Agreed. I always try to find a good balance between realism and playability. Existing POI is where it's at.
this thing looks really good. i like the idea of more aesthetic role playing type horde bases, especially pois like the silos and commercial buildings
That is exactly what I was going for. Glad you liked it!

Also, cool build.
@@Md936S Thanks! That is definitely one way to do it!
NIce! finaly a good looking and realistic base, love it!
Thank you! Cheers!

That is an interesting idea!
Love this bases looking like medieval castles, nice job!
I'm happy you like the aesthetic, thanks!
Good looking base design.
Glad you think so!
First time comment, but really love your video! Keep up with the great work!
Well hello there! That's awesome to hear, thank you.

Naturally need to give the zombies the red carpet treatment! That is a good suggestion!
Beautiful base
Thank you very much
im so excited by this its like the first base i ever made parkour FTW this looks so much better tho i was all function no art
It is a little bit extra effort for the aesthetics, but it definitely feels more atmospheric.

Absolutely! Definitely not cheese!

I just live 15 blocks up on stilts. Hoards are a waste of time so I cheese them. Some hoard nights I just sit in an attic and wait it out.
That will certainly do the trick to avoid the horde
Loved it, but I think I might have a contact-high from all the copium fumes. Not sure of source.
I have no idea of what you speak! No, absolutely no idea of where the source could be from 😅

Hey it looks like it will keep you alive, so I say it is awesome 👍 5stars ⭐
That is all that matters in the end!
Wouldn't you want to set up the sledge on the other side of the ladder? Does the sledge set the demolisher off?
It can but if you put it a have a block below TO have contact with the knees it wont set off the demolisers, The Normal turrets do Slap the b3wbs of a demolishers that's where you HAVE to be careful
I haven't had the demo get triggered with this setup.

I rather like the 'castle' aesthetic.
Thank you :)
Хорошие советы, спасибо
No problem
I'm too old to remember all of this. And besides my spleen hurts. Can you come to my house and build it for me. I will make lunch and donate $37.71.
Sounds like a fair trade 😁
my traps keep breaking
First?
I believe so 😁
I sent you A Message on Discord About a little something for the channel hehehe Something for you and Taco ;)
