even as an old player its refreshing to see a new deepwoken tutorial since most of them are made by old players that kinda forgot how the new player experience is so they explain things very vaguely
I was literally 1/4 through making my own beginner guide because I noticed the same thing, all the current guides are verse 1 era or all the exact same without regard for the true new player experience, or they simply don’t explain the things they need to. I might not need to now, thanks Eclipse xd
@@serszei no it wasnt. deepwoken is a game that is best played when exploring yourself. hes not gonna just tell you everything then the game loses its good part. he explained game mechanics and what to do as a complete begginer very well
old player here, man u killed it I'm def showing new players i come across this video so they can try to put up with this game and enjoy the experience. few things though (you might have already read this from someone else) 1. IN ORDER TO GET THE GLIDER RECIPE skip to 31:44 there is a npc infront of the rock hes looking at talk to em for the recipe 2. the door the widows cave can be opened via a button u find in the room with the door right next to the entrance to the widow boss 3. there is a cheese spot for fighting the erisia golem in trial of one in the top right of the room when u enter, you can stand on the highest ledge baiting the golem to the left side (make sure he isnt on the lower ledge) and hit him ONLY while hes doing his spin move, he will hit u with any other moves 4. there is a way to get a extra free 25 notes (or a ring) when you walk into etris run to the huge tree in the middle and talk to the guy sitting cleaning his greatsword, pressing the right dialogues he will give you a ring u can wear/sell for notes 5.MAKE SURE you read ur recipe book, you can make flint/campfire pits and other goodies if you get the right ingredients for them (umbral flint my beloved(1 umbral obsidian + coal crafted anywhere)) 6. There is a elevator (costs notes) to skip the bell hitting part of the depths to escape, located on the flat side of the depths directly infront of the gate go straight and you will see it HOWEVER PLEASE READ a very hard mob to fight spawns directly infront of the elevator
I would like to thank you eclipse from the bottom of my heart, im not neccesarily a fan (actually i dont like most of your vids/takes on games) but as a deepwoken veteran that is trying to help my friends new to the game this video is absolutely amazing. There is so much stuff old players just take as things everyone knows from how long they've been playing but most new players know almost nothing about (queue my new friend complaining about remaking his build 3 times and not using mystic for any of it ) and this video does a great job of pointing those things out.
A great tip for the last trail at 25:36 is that you generally don't want to take it slowly like eclipse does. The main reason is that by this point you have accumulated enough damage bonus that the megalodaunt will die in around 5-6 hits. The trick is to rush those 5 to 6 hits while minimizing damage. From my experience just dont get kicked and you will be fine
To any new players reading this. You infact CAN level up your other stuff with attribute points. Willpower can be gained by throwing up food and staying in the depths. Intelligence can be gained by just exploring new areas for the first time (ex. First time entering lower erisia etc..) agility by dodging. Fortitude by getting hit a lot or getting gripped/executed
Strength: Defeating mobs Parrying and attacking Chopping trees Using boulder item Fortitude: Getting hit with training vest Getting ragdolled Throwing up Agility: Rolling(more exp from dodging an attack) Running Intelligence: Harvesting ingredients Reading books for the first time Brewing potions Discovering new places Willpower: Staying in the depths Defeating mobs in the depths Throwing up food Watching allies grip enemies Charisma: Helping out in faction v. Faction events Selling items (Just use the book lmao)
Listen, as someone who is getting into PvP myself, holding right click BEFORE A M1 feints it super quickly, and you have less of a chance to mess it up and not feint in time (eclipse pin me so beginner pvpers can see this)
The feint WILL come out faster, but you will be unable to roll cancel after the feint. For some reason right clicking stops you from running or using movement. (this may be patched, if it is then disregard my comment) It's only useful if youre on a weapon like rifle or faster swing speed
2:10 might have misunderstood but Intelligence, Willpower and Charisma have their own specific ways to get exp. picking up items and reaching locations for the first time on a character award a bit of INT exp, being in the depths, gripping humanoid mobs and dealing with "illusions" (such as Ferryman's clones) give willpower exp, and selling items and chatting with other players can give a bit of charisma exp
Might be a lack of testing moment, but in my experience, you'll never hit a wall for attribute XP with those stats. For the weapon manual, attunement items, and dumbbell, you'll get a message saying that "You need real experience first" or whatever. With the other items the attribute point gain slows down, but you'll never hit that soft cap (Or at least I never have, and considering powering up appears to reset you obtained attribute XP, I assume this is the case)
@@TheBigNoob_TBN He meant how when you use a dumbbell it just stops after a couple of uses (due to not having trained the stat) for things like charisma using the "how to make friends" book trains the stat only stops when you run out of xp entirely. When you do, it will say something like "I need to go out and do something" which means more XP. One good way I found of training strength and weapon is parrying stuff. Multi-hit moves are best like the golem spinning and Sharko ranged moves.
@@EclipseGameplays this is because doing the actions required to level up certain attributes give more exp than others. Let me elaborate. When using ANY training gear, you get a very slight amount of exp for that attribute. If you were to spawn in as a power one and immediately autoclick the training gear without gaining any training exp beforehand, it will be slow, but each use will give a bit of training exp. Theoretically, it is possible to reach 100 in an attunement without using any of that attunement's mantras to gain training exp and solely relying on the training gear. I'm not masochistic enough to test it, but ive gotten up to 40 points that way and never bothered to go higher. Point is, training gears give an infinitesimally small amounnt of exp. HOWEVER In my experience, , willpower, int and charisma are different. You get a boatload of willpower exp just for using the training gear and not doing anything else. Trust me, afk a bit with the prayer beats, come back 15 minutes later, and youve gotten at least 20 wlpower points. Another example is charisma. You get some charisma exp for beating mobs but you can gain alot more simply by grinding out the charisma task (typing in the prompts). Sorry for the lengthy reply, but to summarize my main point, like you said, for certain stats you will hit a wall, but the reason you don't for the other ones is that using the training gear itself gives a significant amount of training exp. From my experience, it never takes longer than 4 math textbook questions to gain a point, and I have never hit a wall either. I don't know if this is actually why you never hit a wall, but its my theory backed up by countless hours of playtime and experience. TLDR: using training gear for some attributes gives big exp so you never hit a wall because while you are levelling up, you also gain enough exp to hit the next level, resulting in an infinite loop, but this is only a theory so take it with a grain of salt
I experienced hitting a wall with willpower as a Deepbound after being semi afk and using the beads for a while it said repeat training wouldnt do no good. This probably isnt an only Deepbound thing but players rarely afk farm willpower so its not that big of an issue.
No 1H and 2H stances have the same posture dmg output it's just that the dmg is allocated differently based on the stance if you are 1Handing a weapon you regain MORE posture on a successful parry than someone who is 2Handing but a 2H stance increases posture dmg to enemies block
I would also strongly recommend getting speed demon on every build, which procs bleed when you have a speed boost. "Bleed" is basically a 30% damage boost which bypasses armor and the damage cap, and the talents fast blade and swift rebound grants you a brief speed boost after parrying / dodging, so bleed can proc very often during a fight. For only 25 agility it is a must have.
Been playing this for months and always never reached power 20 (Because voidwalkers). I love how this guide really just went straight to the point and I even learned abunch of new stuff I didnt know about.
do more sea events or if you're confident in fighting monsters try deepbound as you cant get hunted by voidwalkers in both of those ways. There are some weirdos who will randomly kill you in the depths though so be careful
This is a damn good guide, It's great to see a tutorial that is more up to date with deepwoken's current state. I will most definitely be using this video as a starting point for my friends that are new to deepwoken :)
@Foux2 compared to any other deepwoken guide this one is absolutely the best. If you are confused on any locations there are interactable maps on the wiki.
Adding to 22:23 , I recommend choosing a fire mantra beforehand as the enemies that are knocked will automatically die without needing to execute manually if set on fire when knocked. This is extremely useful in the angel battle as when one angel fully dies, the other one will also die shortly after.
@AtomiX-YTwell when you first start it’s a starting one but if you don’t select it then you have to get it back by starting over, picking random, and hoping you get the one you want, if you get it THEN, then you will unlock it permanently on that slot
what is there even that you need a guide for? im in the third sea and i can confirm that blox fruits is just a simple bandit beater (no hate tho) and for the extra info (that you wouldnt even need as a beginner) just ask anyone in the game or go to the wiki
@@thunderspark1536 ah sorry as you can see from the fact that i wasted my time getting to the third sea i am in fact *not* one of the smarter people on this planet
Man I saw this video being uploaded before I bought deepwoken. I played deepwoken blind for the funzees and man was it kind of confusing. I got killed by voidwalkers a few times, which was honestly more funny than frustrating, got lost a bunch of times, survived the depth in totally wrong ways (Legit got helped by random people and got carried through one of the trials), yet I had a fun time. I decided to watch this ignorer to progress further and not be stuck in lower Erisia and I'm glad I did. This guide explains things so well and I have barely any questions. The questions I do have I can easily find on my own. Thank you eclipse for making such a great guide. Also my grammar is probably crap because I'm writing this at 5 am.
You made 40 minutes of hardcore game beginner guide yet you cannot beat 8 Snowmans. Edit 1: this is edited because the comment had some grammar issues Edit 2: dude this is a joke ffs what's the problem with this?
amazing vid, great job! only complaints are that you didnt mention the natural armor bar and not mentioning mantra upgrades. still gonna show it to any new player in need though👍 im not really a veteran (200 ish hours) but i think i have decent game knowledge and i didnt even know you could pve combat log at
you only have natural armor if you are a certain race. also pretty sure he mentioned mantra upgrades, but didn't fully talk about them because for new players they can be a bit harder, and they should rather focus on other stuff for now
Loved your tutorial, I really wanted to know what you do in deepwoken as I wanted to first have a look at it and see if I wanted to try it out. And this is all I need. Thank you eclipse. I very much like your content and opinion on stuff so I'm gonna try this out. This comment is also just a token of appreciation for how you made me look at roblox games differently and how your knowledge helped me in a few projects I'm making. I wanted to say this even though this might not be the place to talk about it but I really like what you are doing on this channel. :D
Thanks Eclipse, I've bought Deepwoken a while back and while fun at first, I really struggled to get to the Endgame. This tutorial really helped me return to the game and teached me about Echo Talents and such I didn't even know about. I will be starting my Deepwoken journey once more.
Thank you eclipse. I just recently started on deepwoken after I played it for 30 mins then never played it again because I couldnt progress. Roblox dosent have servers from my region usually so I play on constant 150-200 ping which makes everything a whole lot harder. I honestly have no clue on how I can get into deepwoken I hope this vid motivates me to give deepwoken another try.
enable ping compensation and find a region that gives the lowest ping and stick to those servers. i live in america and can still play with my buddies across the globe even in european servers. you also just have to adjust to your average ping. in my higher ping servers i find even 180 ping to still be playable (although still somewhat annoying)
There is also a quest at vigil that gives a free mantra card upon completion and redoing some quest gives you an extra card hand on your next power up (curiosity, bravery, and compassion)
i started deepwoken the same 10 minutes it came out i was so hyped but i never really got into it for a bunch of different reasons never even hit max level once or became good im thinking of getting back into it thanks for this video gng
fun little fact at 33:30 i ended up dying to the terrapod here as i had the luck to fight an alpha variant, that sent me to the depth. In the depths i ended up fighting a megaladaunt, to my surprise the quest only checks if you killed A megaladaunt, not the one specific in the cave, when i got out of the depths i simply reported back to Arthur and he gave me the echoes without even entering the cave. Of course it's easier to go through the cave than to go through the whole depths thing, but you do you.
holy shit, thank you eclipse! i probably would’ve never gotten back into deepwoken without a proper guide, and i think this might be perfect to help me get back into it, great video!
I think this is important to mention. Observation and ghost is honestly preference and in my opinion I always get observation since roll canceling is so important and because you can get safety dance as well (although safety dance got changed recently and I'm not sure how useful it is anymore). And carnivore is good but in my opinion it depends sometimes so I'm not sure if recommending new players to always get it is a good idea.
37:52 if you have a tremendous skill issue like me (lol) you can just pick a talent that heals your armor everytime you kill a npc (i forgot the name of the talent)
pretty detailed and goes into depth rlly well. i tried to get friends into this game and have tried to explain everything sometimes multiple times… but this is a really good find and its up to date so hell yea
this was the best deepwoken guide I've ever seen, I'm a freshie and I really needed some tips on how to level up and do some fun missions and this really helped me out! Kepp the good content man
the most common build i recommend to beginners is 40 str 40 ftr 40 agility 25 charisma 100 wpn 80 attunement i prefer this over yours, since it opens up for more oath variety, and it also introduces the charm mechanic to the beginner, it also requires less training items compared to yours.
@@Naktari yeah but his stats also go beyond 75, i was comparing to his stats mb if i didnt clarify. if you have better beginner stats please share with us
100 wpn is not really optimal unless you go heavy or silentheart, with other weapon types you can go for 75-80 and be fine, the leftover points can be spent for rest of the attributes to get more useful talents
lack of willpower is honestly pretty bad here personally if you want an all rounder build id take this and just go 90 weapon and 10 willpower for conquer your fears, a talent thats EXTREMELY useful for players who might be new to exploring the depths. there is only 1 weapon with a requirement above 90 and this build doesnt meet the strength req to equip it anyway
It requires you to have general XP, yes. If you don't have enough, once you reach the attribute threshold to level up, you won't be able to level up until you hit the amount of XP you need
heres a tip for the sand knight: just dodge all of his attacks, if you do this your dodge cooldown will come back before he attacks again with the exception of the double sword swipes which you will have to parry the second swing, but the second swing isn't too hard to parry if you expect it every time.
There is an alternative path to get into the temple courtyard; however, it does require that you have kick off and decent agility. You can climb up the wall on the side of the thief den, the thief den is just before the tower struck lands.
@@woofiwoofi6506 you are going to have to fight all of those enemies throughout the game in order to level up. While you can technically grind out levels against low level mobs in Lower Erisia, eventually you will have to learn to fight everything in the trial
@@woofiwoofi6506 you can only access the trial at level 1, however, there's no right or wrong way to play this game. While I personally recommend clearing the trial so you know how to fight all the enemies, nobody is forcing you to do it if you're not having fun
just do trial and error, it took me like 30 attempts to even get past sharko, but with practice u will be able to beat every mob there which is crucial (you will encounter most of them at some point)
Quick thing like 5 mins in A few more things that can give attribute exp are. Selling items giving charisma exp And picking up items giving intleligence exp Also staying in depths or throwing up gives willpower
The difference between this and the wiki is that this kind of video is aimed to introduce newcomers to the world of deepwoken cause nobody likes to go on a wiki of a game they wanna try in order to see if it could be worth it. Also this is a BEGINNERS guide meaning it only serve the purpose of giving you some kind of direction when you first log in. After that you're on your own. Plus it's free views and money so why not?
Yes, it summarizes information, it presents them in an easy way and helps new players get situated with the game. He's not the creator, he can't just snap his fingers and make the game less of a wiki game, he can help new players with the information they need though.
as a completely new player, i discovered a few things. First, u need to complete the trial of one (idk why). Second, u gotta be parrying and know movesets (kinda fair) . And third is that voidwalkers is bad and try to beat up the ship events. I hope it will help me cuz i just bought deepwoken heh.

I'm watching this after 100 hours of Deepwoken (Not that much to be honest), and by far, it is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. If I had seen this now as a new player, it would have been 100 times more helpful than earlier. Great job, Eclipse!
thank you so much for this video, I started deepwoken about a week ago and I had a really good account around power 16 and I died to a voidwalker. Im still learning stuff about the game but I'm way more confident in playing now especially the monsters 😭
Great video! Im sure it will be infinitely useful to every new player! If anyone here has basically completed this guide and wants some more quick internediate leveled tips, heres some i can supply: -At around power 15, your best bet to get xp quick is from fighting bosses. I recommend the Ferryman, as he is not only one of the three purely monster-like bosses that doesn't have any tricky human-npc type mechanics but also only has four moves that are relatively simple to avoid. He isnt the best, but all of that coupled with how easy it is to heal in between his moves makes him pretty easy, relatively speaking. -Once you can handle human npcs decently well on a regular basis, instead of grinding in erisia on subsequent slots, theres a really nice voidzone filled with pretty decently easy enemies in Minityrsa. I forget the name right now, but its in the very back, past the big bridge on top of the ice lake and to the right in the long valley. Follow it and youll not only have tons of loot and xp, but voidwalkers wont even be able to hunt you. At least not very easily. -Speaking of which, if you enter the place you exit from after the Trial of One while at power 1 on any slot with any origin, you can do the trial. The only exception is deepbound, but thats a whole other beast that doesnt really need it AND cant even interact with it at all. -Join a friendly guild if youd like to learn something like pvp, layer 2 of the depths, certain events like the depths' hell mode or its wave based diluvian mechanism, or just generally anything. My guild, Odrysae, is pretty good at that kind of thing, and you may see one of our officers (Thunder) posting suggestions in the official deepwoken discord. And who knows? You may even make a friend or two thats down for any game if you join a guild. -Finally, making really good builds can be complicated as hell. Many youtubers have videos on how to use the shrine of order to properly and efficiently use stats to get many more talents than usual without it, but the best way to learn is to just try making something and getting feedback on what makes it bad or good so you can keep improving that skill. You could also just copy the build of any youtuber or player that you want, nothing wrong with that. But making your own makes it easier to play in your own specific style, so id say to at least give it a good shot. I hope this all helps! Have a good day folks!
Amazing tutorial eclipse, my one minor nitpick is around the start is with how using the respective items for training willpower, intelligence and charisma are the only ways to train it, that’s not entirely true but I see how anyone could have missed that. Regardless this is a great tutorial and I hope newcomers will make great use of it, thanks a ton eclipse.
It's crazy to see how much effort went into this video, you can tell that he genuinely wants people to have fun while playing and urges people to fight new monsters instead of being someone who is a "permanent-freshy" for lack of better words.
@@Fronkleen I would probably say like a 2/10 rage bait? You're not really trying to be believable, so maybe next time add on to it or at least give some elaboration? Don't forget the personal attacks. Good luck with the rage baiting man! 👏👏😁😁
as someone who just got back into deep (i got the game on release and barely played it, i had no clue how to progress) im glad i got recommended this recently
thank you so much for this I bought this game close to release and when there was no tutorial in the game and no good tutorials on the internet. every time I went back to this game I couldn't find a good tutorial on UA-cam because all of the other tutorials would barely talk about stats and say put it into what ever you want like I know what stats do, then immediately skip talking about the progression and go straight to talking about bells and oaths
Just looked at the chapters and off of that alone, he's covered almost everything I can think of that a new player would need to know outside of the shrines. I would not suggest dealing with shrines until you're used to the general gameplay loop. Also tip: Ghost is good if you're new but going for observation is better if you're not worried about how good your dodges are and you wanna save points.
this allows you to actual learn the meta of builds in deepwoken instead of you just getting max level just to redo the build because it wont work in pvp or pve
@@jackie2905 Ghost may be better, but I like saving points a lot, unless the build NEEDS ghost I can live without it and fucking flourish against most players. Plus on shadow Ghost is unnecessary if you're a normal person and you either use shrines or get lvl 4+ mantras. I only suggested players don't use shrines until they learn the general gameplay loop bc I've seen mfs makes decent no shrine builds when startin out just to fuck it up via using shrines. Mainly shrine of order or running out of knowledge. (Fucking hell ended up gettin carried away on writing this shit 💀)
pretty sure that when you level up, not only your attribute exp goes back to zero but general exp also gets halved, so its definitely not worth farming more than you should at your level
Hey Eclipse, I just finished watching your latest video on the "The Ultimate Deepwoken Beginners Guide!" weapon, and I have to say, it's truly impressive! The level of detail you provided about the weapon's mechanics and its strategic implications in the game was outstanding. It's clear that you've put a lot of effort into researching and presenting this information in a way that's both informative and engaging. I especially appreciate how you break down the nuances of using the "The Ultimate Deepwoken Beginners Guide!" effectively, from its strengths in different scenarios to its potential weaknesses. Your commentary throughout the video really showcases your deep understanding of the game and your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. Overall, your video not only enhances my knowledge of the game but also inspires me to try new strategies with the "The Ultimate Deepwoken Beginners Guide!" myself. Keep up the excellent work! Looking forward to more insightful content from you in the future.
is this ai generated or something if not i have a feeling you're a psychopath since nobody actually types out the whole name of the video unless they have intent to kill
A few things that you may have forgotten to mention (I may get some things wrong as I am writing while watching) - using random attunement roll to unlock first 4 attunements - getting glider schematic (acquired by talking to alastir who is right next to the npc for aerial assault)
this might be the first deepwoken beginner guide that is not just 10 arbitrary miscellaneous gameplay tips that probably will not make sense to a new player this is pretty neat i want to make one now thats basically a more in depth thing that covers basically everything. hopefully it does not take too long.
I played rogue for years, but never really got into deepwoken because there was almost no content on release. This guide helped me see that there is a lot more to do now and I have been enjoying the game a bunch since I returned to it🙂
2:03 you gain xp in intelligence for harvesting crops. what i would do when i first started was to use the math teztbook, pick up like 3 mushrooms in etrea and gain a level
20:32 On a side note, I recommend practicing against the Instructors in the isle of vigils. It can teach you the basics of humanoid combat and allow you to trial-and-error safely. Not only that, the instructor may also spawn with a spear, which you can learn from in preparation for the angel's basic attacks.
deepwoken has since added a different 'tutorial' to guide players. today was my first day trying out deepwoken since the first week of release. here's how it went. 1. new account, new character, started totally from scratch. tutorial told me most of what i needed to know about combat (or so i thought) 2. get in game after tutorial, in some random village, only objective is to craft a ship. i try talk to some npcs, but they just spout paragraphs of nothing and dont tell me anything. 3. go to the ship crafter npc and make a ship. tells me to go to a different area. 4. i go to the new area, there's literally nothing for 20 minutes, i turn a corner, 700 hostile npcs. i run for about 10 minutes from the omnipotent npcs that can see me through walls and know exactly where im going. 5. i escape from them eventually by going up a cliff face. i turn around for like 30 seconds before getting some kind of time stop spell put on me and getting instantly killed by some random ninja npc. i don't get fully killed, just ragdolled down a massive cliff. 6. stuck down a cliff with only one way to try find my way up, through a cave filled with acid where you can't touch the floor at all or you die in about 5 seconds. 7. follow the very vague path going upwards to hopefully escape, run into a megalo-something and get chased, getting acid spat at me. 8. get completely cornered with yet another omnipotent npc that somehow knows my exact path and where i am at all times. 9. get ragdolled off another cliff and die in acid with no chance to do anything about it. the 'tutorial' seems like it's just built as some weird trap to lure players into an endgame area so either other players can kill them or so impossible npcs can kill them. i had no direction, no items, nothing. this guide doesn't even help anymore because so much is different. it doesn't help that after watching this video, i now know that my character is limited by lives before i have to restart literally everything. so i give up. im not playing this game if the developers led me to my death as soon as i finished the combat tutorial for pretty much no reason. my gameplay experience was 100% just following by the current objective and direct paths to things. every single time i went to a place, it was just hostile enemies or npcs that tell me about their favourite food, or what they like to do on the weekends. absolutely pathetic. i thought fromsoftware games were totally directionless, then i played deepwoken. might be the first 0/10 for the whole year. and im saying this at the END of the year.
This is a useful guide, I heard good things about deepwoken for awhile now but the whole lose slot via death thing always got me feeling skeptical thanks for the explanation
Shrine of Order isn't exactly a beginner mechanic, but it's the main focus of almost every viable build. It allows you to get talents that you would want (example, Brick Wall for 100 FORT and Heretic's Sutra for 80 WP) but after you use the Shrine of Order, the stats can go down and up. For example, 100 FORT will go down to 75 FORT. Every stat can only be lowered by 25, except for attunements.
Sadly Eclipse did not list the most important tip, destroyman III. to get him go to the etris docks and make a right from the etris dock gate if you look you should see a sharko/megolodaunt statue, emote infront of it by holding k and clicking one of the emotes and you should obtain destroyman III (btw ik this sounds kinda fake but its actually real)
just a small tips , you can just ignore everything at the last trial of trial of one and hit the alpha sharko with out parrying , it gonna die after a few hit since it basicly got same health of a bandit , just doge the kicks and it gonna be done quicker and safer
Even as an older and more experienced player I watched a plethora of starting guides and they all regarded the same stuff of: Spawn at Etris, get starter armor, and so on.But you've just recommended something better upon new players that might just carry them long enough to be actually good! Spawning at Trial of One is a way better choice since you are learning all the new stuff, it will take long for the freshie to learn it all, but it is worth it. (note: I do know Trail of One was added later and I'm kind of old)
It’s about time someone actually made a real deepwoken guide not just “kill mobs level up have fun” but actually teach people how to play the game and how to abuse the basic game mechanics

There is so much stuff old players just take as things everyone knows from how long they've been playing but most new players know almost nothing about (queue my new friend complaining about remaking his build 3 times and not using mystic for any of it ) and this video does a great job of pointing those things out.

Having an actual guide that isn't just "I'm good so you should also be good" is really nice
From my experience just dont get kicked and you will be fine
that and the enemy has half the health of a normal one
To any new players reading this. You infact CAN level up your other stuff with attribute points. Willpower can be gained by throwing up food and staying in the depths. Intelligence can be gained by just exploring new areas for the first time (ex. First time entering lower erisia etc..) agility by dodging. Fortitude by getting hit a lot or getting gripped/executed
charisma by selling stuff
also fishing gives a lot of different exp
Strength:
Defeating mobs
Parrying and attacking
Chopping trees
Using boulder item
Fortitude:
Getting hit with training vest
Getting ragdolled
Throwing up
Agility:
Rolling(more exp from dodging an attack)
Running
Intelligence:
Harvesting ingredients
Reading books for the first time
Brewing potions
Discovering new places
Willpower:
Staying in the depths
Defeating mobs in the depths
Throwing up food
Watching allies grip enemies
Charisma:
Helping out in faction v. Faction events
Selling items

Listen, as someone who is getting into PvP myself, holding right click BEFORE A M1 feints it super quickly, and you have less of a chance to mess it up and not feint in time (eclipse pin me so beginner pvpers can see this)
ty bro
The feint WILL come out faster, but you will be unable to roll cancel after the feint. For some reason right clicking stops you from running or using movement. (this may be patched, if it is then disregard my comment) It's only useful if youre on a weapon like rifle or faster swing speed
@@thecomet653 what about flareblood kamas?
this feature sucks so much 😭
2:10 might have misunderstood but Intelligence, Willpower and Charisma have their own specific ways to get exp. picking up items and reaching locations for the first time on a character award a bit of INT exp, being in the depths, gripping humanoid mobs and dealing with "illusions" (such as Ferryman's clones) give willpower exp, and selling items and chatting with other players can give a bit of charisma exp
@@TheBigNoob_TBN This is not what I meant at all...
20:48 two handed mode doesn’t decrease your hit speed, just prevents you from using side arms for increased posture damage
it's ever so slightly slower
@@yuh8846 it doesnt reduce swing speed at all, it did with one weapon; the ignition deepcrusher although that was patched
No 1H and 2H stances have the same posture dmg output it's just that the dmg is allocated differently based on the stance if you are 1Handing a weapon you regain MORE posture on a successful parry than someone who is 2Handing but a 2H stance increases posture dmg to enemies block
@@notmyname69it is 1 frame slower as shown in an agamatsu video
I would also strongly recommend getting speed demon on every build, which procs bleed when you have a speed boost. "Bleed" is basically a 30% damage boost which bypasses armor and the damage cap, and the talents fast blade and swift rebound grants you a brief speed boost after parrying / dodging, so bleed can proc very often during a fight. For only 25 agility it is a must have.

40 str
40 ftr
40 agility
25 charisma
100 wpn
80 attunement
i prefer this over yours, since it opens up for more oath variety, and it also introduces the charm mechanic to the beginner, it also requires less training items compared to yours.

yeah, but to unbound your attunement past 75 is to fight a humanoid boss (Duke, Ferryman, and so on)
@@Naktari yeah but his stats also go beyond 75, i was comparing to his stats mb if i didnt clarify. if you have better beginner stats please share with us
100 wpn is not really optimal unless you go heavy or silentheart, with other weapon types you can go for 75-80 and be fine, the leftover points can be spent for rest of the attributes to get more useful talents
lack of willpower is honestly pretty bad here
personally if you want an all rounder build id take this and just go 90 weapon and 10 willpower for conquer your fears, a talent thats EXTREMELY useful for players who might be new to exploring the depths.
there is only 1 weapon with a requirement above 90 and this build doesnt meet the strength req to equip it anyway

Does using autodidact points take exp?
It requires you to have general XP, yes. If you don't have enough, once you reach the attribute threshold to level up, you won't be able to level up until you hit the amount of XP you need
heres a tip for the sand knight: just dodge all of his attacks, if you do this your dodge cooldown will come back before he attacks again with the exception of the double sword swipes which you will have to parry the second swing, but the second swing isn't too hard to parry if you expect it every time.

Why does people think freshies can complete a trial at the beggining of the game tf
every time i think about getting deepwoken i come to this video get confusied and scares then forget about deep for the next 6 months
thank you so much for this video, I started deepwoken about a week ago and I had a really good account around power 16 and I died to a voidwalker. Im still learning stuff about the game but I'm way more confident in playing now especially the monsters 😭
Great video! Im sure it will be infinitely useful to every new player! If anyone here has basically completed this guide and wants some more quick internediate leveled tips, heres some i can supply:
-At around power 15, your best bet to get xp quick is from fighting bosses.
Have a good day folks!
goated comment this should be near the top
Amazing tutorial eclipse, my one minor nitpick is around the start is with how using the respective items for training willpower, intelligence and charisma are the only ways to train it, that’s not entirely true but I see how anyone could have missed that. Just looked at the chapters and off of that alone, he's covered almost everything I can think of that a new player would need to know outside of the shrines.
I would not suggest dealing with shrines until you're used to the general gameplay loop.
Also tip: Ghost is good if you're new but going for observation is better if you're not worried about how good your dodges are and you wanna save points.
ghost is better than observation what is this yap and also i would use shrines because almost every build is used by it
this allows you to actual learn the meta of builds in deepwoken instead of you just getting max level just to redo the build because it wont work in pvp or pve
i think he should have mentioned shrines more because its vital to be actually good at deep
@@jackie2905shrines add unnecessary complications for a new player (especially order)
YES FINALLY THANK YOU ECLIPSE!!!! YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME
pretty sure that when you level up, not only your attribute exp goes back to zero but general exp also gets halved, so its definitely not worth farming more than you should at your level
Looking forward to more insightful content from you in the future.
is this ai generated or something
if not i have a feeling you're a psychopath since nobody actually types out the whole name of the video unless they have intent to kill

A few things that you may have forgotten to mention (I may get some things wrong as I am writing while watching)
- using random attunement roll to unlock first 4 attunements
- getting glider schematic (acquired by talking to alastir who is right next to the npc for aerial assault)
The glider schematic was taken out of the game, now you can just craft it with 2 cloth and 2 sticks
this might be the first deepwoken beginner guide that is not just 10 arbitrary miscellaneous gameplay tips that probably will not make sense to a new player
this is pretty neat
i want to make one now thats basically a more in depth thing that covers basically everything. hopefully it does not take too long.
I played rogue for years, but never really got into deepwoken because there was almost no content on release. This guide helped me see that there is a lot more to do now and I have been enjoying the game a bunch since I returned to it🙂
3 years and 3000+ hours (not to mention the money i've spent) and i still need this 😭
2:03 you gain xp in intelligence for harvesting crops. what i would do when i first started was to use the math teztbook, pick up like 3 mushrooms in etrea and gain a level

On a side note, I recommend practicing against the Instructors in the isle of vigils.
It can teach you the basics of humanoid combat and allow you to trial-and-error safely.
Not only that, the instructor may also spawn with a spear, which you can learn from in preparation for the angel's basic attacks.
THANX FOR THIS IVEBEEN STRUGGLING TO GET BACK INTO DEEPWOKEN HAVENT PLAYED FORALMOST A YEAR FR
deepwoken has since added a different 'tutorial' to guide players. today was my first day trying out deepwoken since the first week of release. here's how it went.
1. new account, new character, started totally from scratch. tutorial told me most of what i needed to know about combat (or so i thought)
2. get in game after tutorial, in some random village, only objective is to craft a ship. i try talk to some npcs, but they just spout paragraphs of nothing and dont tell me anything.
3. go to the ship crafter npc and make a ship. tells me to go to a different area.
4. i go to the new area, there's literally nothing for 20 minutes, i turn a corner, 700 hostile npcs. i run for about 10 minutes from the omnipotent npcs that can see me through walls and know exactly where im going.
5. i escape from them eventually by going up a cliff face. i turn around for like 30 seconds before getting some kind of time stop spell put on me and getting instantly killed by some random ninja npc. i don't get fully killed, just ragdolled down a massive cliff.
6. stuck down a cliff with only one way to try find my way up, through a cave filled with acid where you can't touch the floor at all or you die in about 5 seconds.
7. follow the very vague path going upwards to hopefully escape, run into a megalo-something and get chased, getting acid spat at me.
8. get completely cornered with yet another omnipotent npc that somehow knows my exact path and where i am at all times.
9. get ragdolled off another cliff and die in acid with no chance to do anything about it.
the 'tutorial' seems like it's just built as some weird trap to lure players into an endgame area so either other players can kill them or so impossible npcs can kill them. i had no direction, no items, nothing. this guide doesn't even help anymore because so much is different. it doesn't help that after watching this video, i now know that my character is limited by lives before i have to restart literally everything. so i give up. im not playing this game if the developers led me to my death as soon as i finished the combat tutorial for pretty much no reason. my gameplay experience was 100% just following by the current objective and direct paths to things. every single time i went to a place, it was just hostile enemies or npcs that tell me about their favourite food, or what they like to do on the weekends. absolutely pathetic. i thought fromsoftware games were totally directionless, then i played deepwoken. might be the first 0/10 for the whole year. and im saying this at the END of the year.
9/10 rage bait! Insulting two extremely popular and loved communities in one rant? Bravo!
I'm thankful that there's someone actually making good guides for deepwoken now, thanks Eclipse.
Eclipse: Do NOT use the stiletto as a new player.
Me: Immediately switches to stiletto.
