@@mayshusakuhanamurasufferli5438 how can you say it's unhealthy? Banana, chocolate, breads and even sugar are good and healthy. They're not telling you to eat the same food every day. Every thing becomes unhealthy only if you take it excessively.
Love when Sooyoung cooks, you can easily change up his recipes to suit any palate. Don't like bananas, use orange slices with the rind and pith cut off. Instead of dark chocolate (I think that's what he used) you could use white chocolate and strawberries for the fruit topping. You could flambe the fruit if you want or use flavored chocolate in the center, add things like dulce de leche or pretzels to make it extra fun!
What I really love about him is because how he actually let the camera men, the staff to have a taste and eat together. It's like he enjoy to eat food more when there's other with him.
If Suyoung had his own cooking show - like Jamie Oliver - I'd watch it. His cooking tips and his way of explaining really makes it feel easy, like I could do this. And I have tried it too! The one-pan pasta :D
In Indonesia, we used lots of condensed milk, chocolate, cheese, and beans for our dessert whether it's for bread (roti bakar), pancake (martabak), or es buah (a bowl of fruits with ice and syrup), and guarantee his recipe going to be delicious fantastic sweet suitable for every age! and he makes me raise my future husband standard materials:")
I'm Malaysian and I really wanna say that Indonesians don't disappoint with their flavors. Spicy or sweet, they make sure there is the kick and I love it
I'm Canadian and even I think the maple syrup + chocolate + caramelized bananas is too much sugar 😂maple syrup is sooo sweet and has its own strong flavour, I wouldn't mix it with chocolate.
I would agree, but I know so many sweet tooth's that would love it. He originally suggested condensed milk if you prefer less sweet things, but this kind of recipe/layering of sweet things is pretty common in Asia (ie the fluffy japanese hot/pancakes or crepes) and one dish is usually meant to be eaten as a shared snack between friends at a cafe.
I've followed this recipe, and it turns out superbb 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✨✨ but I used dark choc and decrease the sugar cause banana itself sweet already. My mom love it so much, she talks about this bread all day 😍❤️
That fried banana..in my country it’s an evening snack that we usually eat with our family, but we don’t cut it into small pieces like that..instead we cut it into two pieces so that it’s easier to eat using our finger and yes it’s so good!!😮💨 and we usually eat with condensed milk or chili sauce.u can choose between sweet or spicy 🤤
I love watching this recipe just get more and more absurd with each step - the last straw is that giant amount of chocolate. Like... bro I love sweets and sugar and chocolate but one of those toasts would put me in a coma 😭
Except for maple syrup, all of this is a local product in my country 🤤 i used to cook something like this without the right skills and it taste amahzinggg, definitely gonna try this with the right techniques for my brunch 🤤🤤
I tried this toast recipe and omggg it's so goodd!! My family also said that "this is very good" it didn't taste like ordinary toast, I used to toast only with egg without any addition, and now i tried with vanilla ice cream and it turns out really really good! You can't taste the egg flavor, only the vanilla ice cream, and it makes the toast really gooodddd! Ryu Suyoung is one of my favorite chefs hereee!!! Always looking forward to his recipes! Thank you for the toast recipeee❤❤❤❤ You guys need to try this recipe!!!
@@denamalik9311 not really, vanilla ice cream, chocolates, plus two table spoon of sugar, and the sweetness of banana and also the maple syrup and condense milk plus the vanilla ice cream on top. It must be really sweet that you can't have 3rd bite
@@scrtlymataray2724 yup .. definitely too much sugar. All those sweet stuffs combining together is a big no no for me, especially to my nieces n nephews.. or else they gonna tore down their grandpa house.
I read this comment before watching the whole video and I thought "oh it's just ice cream that's fine" but the last straw was the chocolate 😩 that's an ABSURD amount of chocolate for french toast, and with caramelized bananas too?!?!? My teeth would start hurting after the first bite
I almost wanted to say “till dead do us part” with the meaning “can he stay on this show for rest of his life” lol cause I need Him to survive ( the recipes of course) lol 😂
I just woke up and the first thing i do was watching this video. And after this I'm gonna go to convenience store to make this. Thank you, good and simple recipe.
Wow he really has a brilliant idea to use vanilla ice cream instead of many other thing. Even he left this show, I wish he could do his own show on UA-cam with English subtitles. PD nim if you see the comment, please kindly tell him to do it. We international fans also like to see his cooking and acting in the future. Edit: I must say this one toast will have a ton of calories. Sobbing coz I am on diet.
In Belgium we call french toast "Verloren brood" (meaning lost bread). We usually just mix eggs with some milk or cream and then soak some old bread in it, then bake it in some butter and when golden brown top it off with a thin layer sugar of your choise, its a favourite as I never met a belgian person who doesnt like it. I love it with "kandijsuiker/ kandijcassonade" aka belgian rock sugar (but as a loose grain sugar), a popular belgian sugar that is used in many desserts.
I liked at the 0:48 😉 I shouldn't have watched this. I already looove his acting, why does he have to be so charming irl too?? Ahhh I want him, but he's already married. Boohoo
I never say this, but that is too much! The bananas remind me of BananasFoster. We just have it with maple syrup in Canada. It is nice with a side of baked beans. Or bacon.
I've made a similar french toast but used brioche bread instead and cheated with nutella so i didn't have to spend time waiting for chocolate to melt hahah. Instead of condensed milk or maple syrup and bananas, I made a mixed berry compote so it wasn't overly sweet and it was tarty! The addition of vanilla ice cream in the egg mixture is interesting - I need to try this out!!!
I think rather than caramelized sugar to coat the banana, baking will be the better choice. bake whole banana with its skin attached for 10-15minutes will make the banana sweet and tender. That much choco, sweet, and fat is not so good, so yeahh baking it will lessen the sugar intake.
