I mean Don Cheadle is an AMAZING actor, Bobby Cannavale kills it in everything he does, Jharell Jerome is crazy talented and rising (how about When They See Us not Now mister director geez) and Michael Pẽna, please he helps any movie as the wonderful character actor he is. Jennifer had no choice but to rise in her work and keep up with these talents.

To this day it’s hard to understand why she was snubbed for Hustlers. Now, she’s getting this recognition for Unstoppable, but to say the other actors made her bring out her best is once again undermining how hard she’s worked and undermining the excellent roles she’s played in the past. People and the media love to pigeonhole JLo, but if they simply put aside their bias and just focused on her work they would see her for the excellent actor that she has always been. I hope award season is good to HER, but I’m cautiously optimistic and wouldn’t at all be surprised if everyone else but the actors of color get awards. It would be par for the course.

The actors that surround Jennifer Lopez in this film required her to elevate her acting. I mean Don Cheadle is an AMAZING actor, Bobby Cannavale kills it in everything he does, Jharell Jerome is crazy talented and rising (how about When They See Us not Now mister director geez) and Michael Pẽna, please he helps any movie as the wonderful character actor he is. Jennifer had no choice but to rise in her work and keep up with these talents.
She e elevated Them. working with theee J. lo will make you bring your A game. Nobody even knows any of those people for a reason.

@detrapayne61 Jennifer is en excellent actor, but she never gets the recognition she deserves. She deserved an Oscar for her role in Selena. She was also OUTSTANDING in El Cantante! To this day it’s hard to understand why she was snubbed for Hustlers. Now, she’s getting this recognition for Unstoppable, but to say the other actors made her bring out her best is once again undermining how hard she’s worked and undermining the excellent roles she’s played in the past. People and the media love to pigeonhole JLo, but if they simply put aside their bias and just focused on her work they would see her for the excellent actor that she has always been. I hope award season is good to HER, but I’m cautiously optimistic and wouldn’t at all be surprised if everyone else but the actors of color get awards. It would be par for the course.
Well her ability as an actor being "amazing" is questionable, but she is entertaining. And no way did she "elevate" them, she doesn't have near the actual training (not talking about number of movies performed in or opportunities given, but actual TRAINING as an actor - you can listen to what words she uses to describe her process and know she doesn't have actual training) as an actor that the others do, and I know this for fact. Not taking away from her drive nor her hustle and beauty, but that is not training, she is a style icon and has a great manager in Benny Medina guiding her along with all others on her team. She is inspiring for that.😊
