A nostalgic moment in time....at 11:03 into this film clip Pegasus guest house that my father had just purchased, & as the camera pans down the street....my sister standing alongside my young brothers pram outside Dads other property "Sandringham Guest House", the "baby sitters scooter", & the rear of Dads new "Ford Anglia" Small World indeed.
Thank you so much for sharing this video with the world. It's lovely to see the town as my teenage dad would have known it - so many of the same photos that we have, only brought to life. A wonderful record of a time that many of us yearn to have lived through. I love the narration too.
I really enjoyed seeing Margate in the 60's. We've just done a new gopro walk of the whole town for our youtube page, hope you enjoy ours in exchange showing the contrast between then and now. Thank you we've subscribed.
My name is 'Ron Watson' not a lot of people know that. Fabulous video by the way. I bet that was a little labour of love when it was made. I find things like that often make wives and family member cringe when first made. However, it's one of those things, as years go by people learn how valuable the content is. Our boy is 3 and I make a lot of videos for that reason.
thought I saw Mr Tully in the Margate life guard clip, he always helped at Drapers school sportsin the 50'sand so good to see the high street too !
Thank you. Will have been the same age as the eldest son here, regularly holidaying in both Margate and Ramsgate.
Great images - and memories!
What a delight we always went to Cliftonville ❤I love how the dad is in his suit on the beach my dad was the same 😂thank you so much for this 😊😊
A lovely little film with good camera work. Plenty of nostalgia from a bygone age.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
