I’m nicks biggest fan but wtf was that…
Love the yelling! Nothing more impressive than listening to a man feeding off his emotions like a school girl!
I know it’s not Nick.
Can i make an early budlist suggestion and hope Wildes takes this like he supposedly did the other week? Might i suggest Greg Jennings, yes, Greg Jennings be on the budlist for his early takes on Daniel Jones in hopes that Jones will turn things around for him because my goodness! I want to believe in Greg with his take on Jones in spirit of the budlist, but Jones is making it really hard right now!
- sincerely, Don & Dawn
Lol 😂
You should change the name to the Nick Wrong podcast.
Nah not a Giants/Daniel Jones segment without Greg Jennings 👀🤣
He was hiding under the table.
I honestly think the Daniel Jones is a top 10 QB take is worse than Kansas City going undefeated. I could have seen a universe where KC has a perfect season, there is no universe where Daniel Jones is a good Quarterback, let alone top 10.
That’s what I’m saying! 😂 I gotta see him face the take
Right where's he at 😂
He didn’t want the smoke
“That was a rough segment for you” Wildes is too much 😂💀
I died🤣🤣🤣
He’s the main reason I watch this show! Haha
It's that dry humor with perfect timing, and short but to the point. It's a gift, and these three guys are just awesome.
Kevin Wildes is undoubtedly the leader of the show
Yeah we know that..
Good observation captain obvious
Good job on the Sideline analogy
I mean it is his job....moderators lead shows
@aaronclay4665 , no one in their right mind would suggest Molly was the leader of First Take
“I got people in my ear telling me I gotta get ya outta here. You had a good fight.” God I love this show!
If trey Lance was playing like Brock Purdy, Nick would be saying that he is amazing. Purdy has been balling and is a legitimate quarterback. It's very impressive.
Bingo
I think he's saying Purdy is in a good situation and isn't asked to lead the team. And if things go bad he can't lead them. If CMC gets hurt, it'll be interesting to see how he plays.
@@Tha_Triggalast year in the playoffs cowboys made CMC non factor and Purdy made plays

Purdy a game manager in my opinion. Excellent defense, and playmakers around him. The right recipe to go far in the league.
I love how Wilds was giving Nick the “side-eye” during “who’s the leader of the show! Hilarious!
Chris absolutely smoked Nick on this one. Broussard….TAKE A BOW!
Not a single 49er fan would want to trade Purdy for Geno
Not just 49er fans lol. Not one owner of a team would want Geno over Purdy, are you kidding me
Well Geno is playing good. It is just that it is too late for him to be a franchise qb.
That depends on how well Purdy can play with a team not the 49ers. I mean can u name a quarterback that won’t be better if he plays on the 49ers.
@anewshanand4864 you can't downgrade him just because he plays on a stacked team. Jimmy played on the same team and wasn't great. Yeah he won but his stats were below average
@@ryanstoopes188 Jimmy lead them to the Super Bowl and played pretty well. My point is Purdy is lucky to play for 49ers so I will always downgrade him until he proves that he is the difference maker and not his team.
Nick's whole anti-Purdy argument is based on a hypotheticals, nothing real. It's really weird how much he dislikes Purdy. If Trevor Lawrence just threw 20 for 21 there'd be 6 segments of Nick gloating.
He dislikes him because of his invested equity with Trey lance😂
A third string QB?
Naw - he's just saying that he trust Geno more because he has seen Geno play through all of those hypotheticals as reality and still win games and make the playoffs and be excellent. Purdy maybe can do it too, but we don't know yet because we have not seen him face adversity.
He's only anti Purdy compared to everyone who acts like he is so great when he has Shanahan the best play caller in the league and a top 2 defense and the best group of weapons in the league. He is a good QB, sure, but everyone overhyped him.
@@kimokauai 🧢
Purdy barely trailing in his career is a _good_ stat, Nick 😅
The argument about not having to play from behind just proves how good Purdy is. He puts his team in a position where he doesn’t have to play hero ball.
Yea definitely not that elite defense for how many years in a row

Man, Chris trounced Nick in that Purdy argument. Perfect example of objective vs subjective.
Did he? Purdy is doing everything right, but like Nick said, we haven't seen him have to do much of anything adversity wise. When it's crunch time you truly see what QBs are made of.
@@wsgzae he clearly did
I get nick, but it's not something he can argue right now.
I feel the same way about Dak.. he hasn't looked impressive at all this year, but his stats disagree. It's Luke some weird sorcery lol.. the eye test and the stars tell 2 different stories
@wsgzae No, he definitely got trounced lol Purdy has had shootouts and adversity(LV game last year and Purdy winning against Dallas and Seattle in the playoffs last year.
then you have to agree Purdy is the best QB in the league. best record and best stats. there’s no argument otherwise
Nick is just trying to tread water with these 49ers takes until Purdy eventually has one bad game so he can take a victory lap and keep his QB wins shtick. There was never this energy against the 49ers when Jimmy G was the QB, who was markedly worse at running this system
As someone who never pays attention to the 9ers, there was never this energy against the 9ers because the talk was never “oh look how good Jimmy is” it was “this is one of the greatest rosters ever assembled in the history of the league, can jimmy just steer the ship long enough to not lose it for them. Where with Purdy now, they have an even stronger set of skill players around them and many of their skill players have even more experience in the system around him, and yet even with all of that, people kind of glaze Purdy. I’m not saying that isn’t what nick is doing either because it for sure is, but I still think Purdy isn’t as cracked up as Brou says. I think is like anywhere from 12-18th in QB ratings but in some segments Brou brings in a hype train like he’s an MVP candidate
Nick is the biggest NINER hater, always been
Basically this. Every QB has a bad game, when Purdy has one, Nick will prance around and dance celebrating his own “genius”.
@@tayjay1565Rational take.
@@tayjay1565every great qb had good talent around them. Mahomes had great talent up until this year. Hurts has even more talent and everyone “glazes” him😂 and he has the best Oline I’ve ever seen. I literally wait for this show to come on everyday ngl
I tune in from work everyday, best sports show right now
Me too! Love the chemistry, love the segments like Mahomes mountain, and upset alert, and the tiers by the committee plus Kevin Wildes is a comedic genius as a moderator 😂
It helps that Nick has a thick skin. Hahaha.
The worst thing that Nick can say about Purdy is that his play in tough circumstances is an unknown. He can’t say that it’s bad, but simply that he doesn’t know. Still, he constantly uses that unknown as a reason to discredit what Purdy has done so far (which has only been succeeding).
This is Nick's weirdest take to be honest. He's acting like Geno's worst plays in tough situations is somehow going to be better than Purdy's best in those same situations. It makes no sense.
I think his argument is Geno is making tight window throws left and right while Purdy doesn't have to. I can agree with that but don't see how it's a knock on Purdy. Only time will tell on that.
@@BDM7Purdy makes some tight window throws and geno makes some wide open throws too. Nick is being facetious with that argument. There were plenty of tight window Brock throws this past Sunday
@@BDM7Purdy has been making tight window throws for TDs almost every game if not twice lol.
The problem is… he is out doing Trevor, who he has invested A LOT of “take currency “

Purdy has already beaten Geno handily twice 😂😂😂

See ya soon.

"You had a good fight" 🤣🤣🤣 Wildes is hilarious
Nick says Seahawks will win the division because of Geno. Then, he claims Geno's stats are worse because his team/coaching isn't as good. What? So how are they going to win the division if the QB stats are worse and the supporting cast is worse? Makes no logical sense.
Translation: he hates Purdy but deep down knows The 49ers will win the division.
I feel like you’re trying to illustrate a contradiction but there is none
@@dach1156 Nick admits Purdy's stats are better (they obviously are). He implies the 49ers have a better supporting cast. Yet, believes the Seahawks will win the division. His argument makes no sense.
It's a bad take and won't age well.
Not to worry. I understood.
Nick is a Mahome a$s licker. Literally nothing else matters…really.
Bro he doesn’t hate him y’all are parasocial when it comes to these QBs. His point was pretty simple to understand.
Remember folks, these “experts” rated Purdy as TOP 25 QB in the league. Most of them said they’ll pick Jones over Purdy also.
If it ain’t mahomes.. nick wont give credit
Chris Broussard is so underrated.
The funny part about that game was - Gino Smith used to play for both NY teams and got dumped, and is now spoken of as one of the better QB's in the league!
Greg Jennings gonna have to eat crow for this
chris dominated this debate and it was refreshing to see. nick at some point needs to admit any amount of being wrong
They BOTH need to work on that on certain takes
nick is almost always wrong imo. he just is very good at cherry picking stats to fit whatever he wants to try to argue.
Not really. Chris argued Purdy has better stats which Nick never contested. Nick said he trusts Geno more because hes seen Geno deal with adversity and make big plays when needed, and he hasn't seen Purdy do anything except play with a lead on a stacked team.
@@BlumpkinLumpkin dunno why nick wouldnt know this, but the games start 0-0. you have to earn a lead.
@@valjohnson7112 And having an elite defense that keeps the offense out of dangerous positions and provides great field positions is really beneficial in that. Nick's point still holds. Chris was arguing against something Nick never contested.
“It was a rough one for you” I lost it lmaooo
How can you come away from this game and even compare Purdy and Geno lol
Because Brou is dead set on not liking Geno, whatever it takes
Disgusting comparison. Geno and his seacocks won't make the playoffs, even as a wildcard.
The only comparison is that Purdy is playing behind a healthy, complete O-line; whereas, Geno's line is a patchwork of bench warmers playing even out of their normal positions! There are thousands of high school QBs with more arm strength than Purdy's.
@@leonardramirezjrthey’re statistically more likely to make them than to not at 3-1 js
@@kennethrohen5963 your tears are so salty 🤣🤣🤣
Nick uses the stat about how little time the Niners have been trailing with Purdy as a starter to say he hasn't had to face much adversity. While also then failing to mention that Purdy came back and won those games.
Also if he was terrible then guess what, they would be trailing because they would be behind. It's the same thing he punishes Josh Allen for. Josh is a great QB but he makes so many mistakes he hurts his team but Brock doesn't do that so why is he mad
This is the best show on American television.
And it's not particularly close.
Just go to the local barbershop
So Nick didn’t see Brock lead BA in double coverage to where only he could catch it? 🤔
nobody cares about the 49ers
I'll never understand the doubt Nick has for Purdy. What more can this man show you? Geno is not over him.
He has one of the best RBs 2 top 10 recievers, a top 5 TE, top 2 defense, top 5 Oline, and the best fullback in the league. Geno would at minimum be as good as Purdy and probably better. Purdy is too safe, and Geno is willing to make big throws more than Purdy. They will be limited if they rely on the run game this much and Mccaffrey goes down, or teams expose that in the playoffs
49ers do not have two top 10 WR's or a top 5 offensive line. That's BS. Also their defense is currently ranked fifth. Seattle has a good oline and WR's too. Purdy is playing great, I don't understand this doubt and vitriol. The Niners have the 2nd ranked offense in the NFL after 4 weeks. Never has the Niners offense been this productive with Jimmy or any other QB. The kid can play.
Saying he is too safe is so dumb my guy. He plays to win and he does why would he risk throwing a hail Mary every play when he doesn't have to. He has such a great team the only way for him to lose is for him to throw the game away. Which arguably Geno would because he has or more likely he would play just like Purdy and your point would be invalid anyway because playing safe when you are up 21 points in the fourth quarter is just the best way to win.@@jacobvanderhooft2188

It’s much easier to win when you have a superteam around you on both sides of the ball like Purdy has…
@@DocAllen424a super team that couldn't do anything with out him in the playoffs
@@DocAllen424 he looks far better than garoppolo, this argument is not good. not every qb looks good in the SF system. jimmy threw tons of INT's, Brock throws pretty much zero and can throw the ball downfield far better
Chris cooked Nick on the Purdy thing. The numbers back up his take. Let’s not act like Geno doesn’t have a squad either. It’s not like he’s got a Chicago level offense. Numbers don’t lie
Despite what the numbers say, I kind of get Nick's argument, because you really can't look at QB production in a vacuum. Geno has a solid receiver corps, but it is definitely more limited than Purdy's. Metcalf and Lockett are great but they're no Deebo and Aiyuk in terms of their skillset IMO. Kittle hasn't had a breakout game yet this season, but he's still leagues above Seattle's TE group. And receivers aside, Geno was also known for having some of the best deep ball accuracy last season, and I think that's enduring this season. I don't know if Purdy has quite met that mark yet, as great as he is playing for sure. That could be due to having a more limited sample size since he started in the middle of last season.
On balance, though, it probably doesn't matter. The 49ers just have the better roster and are showing that as long as they have a quarterback who manages the game with poise, they get big wins. I tend to be in agreement with Nick a lot, but on this prediction he's wrong, even if I understand where he's coming from. 49ers win the division, Seahawks come in potentially at a close second and make the Wild Card.
Looks like Purdy is Nick's new Jokic. Only when Brock wins a SB and a SB MVP will he begrudgingly admit he "might" be a good player.
Bless these guy's for being consistent every day. Thanks guys.
Geno is ballin and purdy is ballin. Both teams look great
Purdy gets more hate for "interceptable balls" than Josh Allen, Burrow, Hurts and Mahomes ACTUAL interceptions lol
Hard to play form behind when you do not make mistakes, and complete passes.
Exactly, they're a great team so they're not behind as long as you don't make mistakes. you'll be fine and that is what good teams do, I don't get what Nick is arguing.
Neither do I, other than for ratings.@@mrblackhouseprez
Nick values Geno's high degree of difficulty plays over Purdy's higher degree of success plays. In case you were wondering how QBs get picked in the first round based on throws against air
Broussard is CRUSHING Wright in this geno vs purdy debate

"You don't wanna see my graphics baby..." 😂
“Purdy has never been in a tough position”, that’s a compliment to him for actually consistency performing through each quarter of each game and not allowing his team to be down come the end of the game.
But not every QB has the luxury of being able to perform and their defense backing them up.
Geno Smith scored 32 and 34 points in games the Seahawks lost.
There has only been one game in Purdy’s career where if he only scored 24 point he loses.
Geno has had nine games with the Seahawks where 24 would have been a loss.
It’s a lot easier to “not allow your team to be down” when the bar is usually in the teens or low 20s.

Why Nick is hating on Purdy makes no sense. The guy has never lost a game he has started and not got injured. Geno is a journeyman QB getting a third or fourth chance and making the most of it. Geno is playing at his ceiling, and Purdy hasn’t even played a full season worth of games. This is absurd.
As a Hawks fan, Purdy is absolutely legit and Shanahans' scheme fits him like a glove. SF's offense is much better and runs more smooth than ours does. I've always thought they were ahead of our time and Pete was back in the 90's. Geno is great in our system but the high offense numbers aren't there. I still think SF takes our division this year, they are loaded top to bottom..we are a few players away from being on their level IMO. But I like what I see this year.
As 49ers fan, seeing the Seahawks play is fun as well. Love that Geno got his second chance. I'm excited for our matches this season.
As an Oklahoma Sooner fan I saw Brock Purdy play Oklahoma tough. He was a starter since his freshman year. Iowa State had 5 consecutive winning seasons. First time since 1921. Purdy is a winner. Remember congratulating 49ers fans in draft watch chats when they drafted him.

You ain't a seahawks fan
Why does Nick hate this kid so bad? Genuine question
Nick the Purdy hater is ridiculous. If he wins a superbowl that won't be good enough.
Happy Birthday Nick!!
Nick Wright has more faith in Trey Lance than Brock Purdy. It’s getting weird.
The stat of Purdy not having many minutes trailing is because he hasn’t put his team in position to trail! The points in the first 3 quarters count just as much as the 4th qrtr
His stats would be even crazier b/c they'd actually have to score in the 4th. More than half the time they're just burning clock
But that isn’t always true.
His defense has only allowed 7,12, and 16 points in 3 games. In the one game that was tight, his defense came up with two interceptions.
Defense matters quite a bit as well. Purdy has only played one game where the defense played poorly and they still got a key interception in overtime.
Since Purdy came in against the Dolphins, the defense has given up 17.5 points a games including the Eagles disaster game.
That is a huge luxury
I tired of the Brock disrespect Nick 😂
Haha, Brou wiped the floor with Nick on that one.
As a Seahawks fan, i view purdy and geno as somewhat similar all around. Geno seems to know his team mates abilities really well. And Brock is a smart distributor of the ball. Both offences rely on some big talent in the weapons department.
I can't believe they think the niners have better receivers. Or defense. The seahawks just have a young defense. They will be better and better as the season goes on and no one will be thinking the niners have a better defense by the end of the season. I already think seattle has a better defense personally.
Nick must be watching different games than us. Apparently Geno can be awful for several years and have one good year and it's enough for a guy to be completely dependable. Geno got DK Metcalf, Tyler lockett, and Kenneth Walker. He isn't playing with nobodies! If brock was 6'4" and a first round pick we'd be calling him the second coming
Use your brain bro. Coaching. We have seen it with goff and stafford and now baker. Qbs can get better with coaching. Geno played his first full season last year and his talent is carrying over to this season. Purdy has not shown HE has a lot of talent other then a check down qb. The team has showed a lot but him as a qb has not. Put him in any adverse situation and lets see how he plays. He can't make the big play but he does not have to because his supporting cast will do it for him.
@@DAKreates what are you talking about? @@DAKreates also, "helps his weapons make big plays" IS making big plays! You think it didn't help Tyreek Hill that Patrick Mahomes has a cannon? You think Josh Allen doesn't throw jump balls to diggs? Part of having weapons is GIVING THEM CHANCES TO MAKE PLAYS! This was something Jimmy couldn't do. Alex Smith wasn't good enough at it in KC. Carson Wentz couldn't sustain it in Philly.
Making plays is giving the ball to receivers in stride so they can get extra yards. It's throwing jump balls at the sidelines and in the end zone. It's rolling outside the pocket and scrambling. All things that Brock has done countless times when needed. Again, in the west coast, you're not asking for that very often. Joe Montana didn't have to roll out often and throw off platform. You can see who doesn’t watch Purdy and who does with comments like these.
LOL
Kevin is hilarious 😂
Brou: Brock Purdy cured cancer and is the greatest human being to ever live
Nick: im not arguing that
I think the argument is that Purdy is in the best situation in the NFL. We have not seen him play in a bad situation or hard situation so it is hard to tell if he has great stats on talent alone or because he has so much talent around him. And until he finds himself out of the goldilocks zone he will remain unproven.
The problem with that argument is... where does it end? Which other QB is judged by this standard?
Dak, Mahomes, Allen, Tua - they're all on stacked teams. Why do they get credit for their results and not Purdy? Why are Purdy's playoff wins "not a bad situation or a hard situation" but everyone else's are?
A player should be judged based on their results. If any first round draft pick came in and played like this, we'd call him a massive future star.
Purdy's been judged based on where he was drafted and not what he's actually done (which is put up league-leading numbers). It's nonsense.
Brou is totally missing the point lol obviously Purdy would be better when he has a significantly more stacked team
Jimmy had this same team and still made rookie mistakes. Throwing INTs and fumbling at least once a game. Purdy is just that guy and haters can't acknowledge it
I don't think Nick is being ridiculous to say that he isn't going to assume Purdy can do things he's never seen him do. I think, I think he's roughly top 15 as this whole crew seems to when actually asked to rank him. I don't understand why no one is allowed to say "Purdy had been rock solid but I want to see how he looks when everything isn't going great."
Brou mopped the floor on the Purdy debate.
I actually think Nick is a way better analyst than he gets credit for, but this take that Brock Purdy hasn’t been in adverse situations or had to make plays is top tier absurd
Give Seattle credit guy's! Witherspoon as rookie showed up and showed out!
Nick did this last year with the Seahawks... He doesn't learn.
I'm telling you guys, Nick doesn't know how to move off a bad take. Seriously, years from now Nick will still be hating on Purdy, because he decided last year Pudry wasn't good.
Tbf if Daniel jones was on the 49ers what would be the result? The team is good enough bro regardless of who their qb is. At no point has the team had to rely on purdy. And just like Jimmy when the time comes are you sure you can trust purdy to carry this team? Won’t say no but can’t definitely say yes
None of these guys move off their terrible takes. It’s by design.
@@WarrenFranceSportsNetwork completely wrong. jimmy g and trey are the perfect examples that brock is way superior
@WarrenFranceSportsNetwork if Danny dimes was on the niners the turnover rate would be high.

Trey perhaps, but Jimmy G is the main reason why people are so slow to proclaim Brock Purdy good.
Jimmy G went to a Super Bowl and another NFC Championship game and now looks bad on the Raiders. And Jimmy G never benefited from having one of the best RBs in the league.
Is Geno better than Brock? Yes, absolutely. I’m not saying Purdy is bad but, you watch the 9ers and they don’t ask him to do much. The reads are short and simple. Props to the Shanahans for diagraming an incredibly effective offense. Mike and Kyle are two of the best offensive minds in football history. Waldron’s style of offense is very different and asks a lot more of his players, specifically the QB and WR1 and 2 (I think Waldron is a lot more creative with his protections though, it’s the only reason they’ve been able to score as much as they have). Geno passes the eye test about as well as anyone in the league at the moment. Purdy is… fine. Nothing he does jumps out.
You go against many pros that think otherwise. He’s shown throughout his college and NFL career that he can hang with the best of them.
He’s seen more than many of his contemporaries even though he’s in his second year in the NFL and it shows. Geno is a solid QB, but he was relegated to a backup for a reason. He and the Seahawks last year were just above .500 for the season for a reason. Head to head there was not one game where I saw Geno outperform Brock Purdy and that was 2 games worth of footage. Put it this way: Brock Purdy was recruited by Alabama but went to Iowa State to get more snaps, because Saban was focused on other prospects before him. Idk what Nick is on, but he’s been a 49ers heel in general after Trey Lance was traded.
@@robertparker3062 I don’t care about college here. Plenty of great college QBs don’t make it in the pros so I’m not sure what him not going to Alabama has to do with anything.
If you’re gonna try and argue 2/3 of the teams in the league wouldn’t do a straight swap for Geno, you’re either crazy or lying. I don’t care about him being a backup for that long. His current performance (along with how wrong so many teams get their evaluations) suggests he was just another victim of the Jets.
Purdy hasn’t “seen more than many of his contemporaries”. I’m not even sure what you would mean by that. He isn’t asked to do as much as most QBs, he doesn’t have the game experience of most QBs, and he hasn’t proven he can rise to the occasion when things are hard.
Oh, I’m sorry, was Geno playing against the same defense as Purdy in those two “head to head” games? Dang dude, I must have missed the part where the 9ers agreed to use Seattle’s (much worse) defense last year.
Nick Wright only looks at numbers. Brock makes really good plays every game.
Greg Jennings in hiding right now!!😂😂😂
How many games should Purdy play well for Nick to acknowledge his impact on 49ers?
Baker shat his pants with a stacked Browns roster. But somehow to Nick's eyes he's still a gem
I’ve always thought Nick Wright was great now I know we share the same birthday, Amazing👌🏾
How has Purdy’s NFL career been filled with controversy when he’s literally been surrounded by the roster in the sport. Outside of his injury what is the controversy?
this is pure comedy😭love this show
Haven’t seen nick get cooked like this in a while
To be honest the Giants should have taken Colin Cowherd's advice and franchise tagged Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley at the same time.
Wildes is unquestionably the leader of the show
Wildes gets payed to sit there and listen to them go back and fourth. I love him haha
😂😂😂😂😂 dog this was the funniest segment I’ve seen so far the ending had me dying man Nick what happened to you my guy you drinking that skiyup
They are hilarious 😂 and I love it lmfao
