I read that a lot of giant breeds get dumped in Texas.
@@magnus1001 the people who dump them don't consider them family members; they've been acquired to perform a task and if they don't do it in what's perceived to be a satisfactory manner, they get dumped. I agree it's monstrous.
I still can't understand how or why anyone would abandon such a beautiful dog. I'm glad that someone was kind enough to do what was right for that poor dog. He looks so happy now.
I don't mean to get all pretentious, but people have to understand that evil in this world DOES exist. It sucks that it does, and it's something that always bothered me but it's something that has to be understood and accepted. There is no justification for just abandoning a fellow family member and moving on with life, and being able to sleep at night not knowing whether or not they lived or died while knowing full well you're the sole reason why they're in that predicament in the first place. These animals love unconditionally, which is something humans can't do, and this is what they do to them. I don't want to even imagine what they're truly capable of.

A friend found a mastiff tied up at an abandoned lot. You could see her ribs. I was called to help, so I took her with me.
I slowly introduced her to my dogs, cat, and Mawcaw. She showed some aggression at first but then understood she was in no danger.
I tried to find her a great home, but after 1 year, my mom didn't want her going anywhere else. I gave my mom the Mastiff. Her name is Maple Syrup. She's become one of the kindest dogs in our family.

Yes, I'm so grateful for their kindness and love to him. Doggies are little fur angels, they are a little piece of heaven on the earth plane. He's SOOOOOOOOO C U T E ! So glad he's happy and loved in his new home.

Once you introduce a Mastiff to a couch, it's over. It's his couch now, it's his whole reason for being.
I had a friend with a Mastiff, a bit taller than this guy. If you got up from the couch, he was definitely going to have taken your spot by the time you got back.. And very pleased with himself. He was hilarious and also super sweet.
Yay a forever home. HE deserves this home. I am happy he found those people.

Mastiffs are great dogs. Very gentle, very dedicated to their people. And as lazy as you let them get away with being.

@@rodericklep2858 yes ok news media Karen, Shirley or whatever. Mastiff breeds PROPERLY trained and regularly socialized to the world as puppies, are extremely big love bugs to it's family members and public.

I had an English Mastiff like Hoss and she was just the sweetest most gentle dog but all while being the size of a miniature horse, they are LARGE dogs when they are fully grown.

that's a south african boerboel. mastiff is one of the original breeds it descends from, but the jowls are way too small for an actual mastiff. super handsome boy. god bless you guys. 🙏🏽🇿🇦
