Motors are whatever was in the kit and I can't say much about them because I didn't do any tests, but when a 6kg hexa gives me nearly 20min. flying time, it makes me to believe that they are pretty efficient:)
than you very much for your answer i appreciate. Flying time is very nice and for sure the efficent is amazing. I hope the balance and the reliability of the bearings are also nice ;)
Ahoy, I zip-tied ESCs under the motors, there's a square place for them. I didn't use any connectors anywhere, soldered all the way. I didn't use capacitors in the wiring anywhere (if that what those Elkos are:), haven't use them at all ever and didn't see any others using them. ESCs have them already, unless your ESCs are something non standard DIY ones...
Ahoy, I can not tell you now because it's not me who's flying it, but when I was maiden'ing, it was going good enough on default settings whatever WKM has there on. As much as I remember, I had to decrease gain by only tiny bit of pitch and roll when it was very windy, and that's it...
Nice setup. I have the same T960 from Foxtech and had the Falcon Pro GH3 gimbal. I am running on a single 6S 10000mAh. Foxtech send me the wrong screws too, M2x8mm instead of M3x8mm for the battery mounts. My Tarot is still on the ground as I got a dud ESC and still awaiting replacement from Foxtech. From your video, I understand that the gimbal damper ball is too soft and I think I will have the same problem when I get mine in the air.
Yeah, a lot of screws was messed up on mine as well... You can easily harden those damper balls by compressing them with nylon bolts- gimbal is still sitting through a rubber, but not swinging all over the place. It definitely works:)
That is not my copter, I just put it together for my friend. After his previous copter with Naza flew away back to China, he didn't want any Nazas and there was a good deal at Foxtech on this one with WKM. Not sure whether he'll be using waypoints. Sony Nex5 is on and it is only 2 axis gimbal- Foxtech Falcon Pro. It will be used mainly for photography, so 3rd axis not as much needed here:)
Strange that you had such problems with your WKM controller. I have this system mounted on 4 Multicopter and had only 2 times a problem with that. The first time when DJI issued a firmware that was completely wrong, that they have then quickly withdrawn and the second time when I used a different battery brand which generated a magnetic field which disrupted the compass.
I wouldn't say it's the WKM- that field I was testing it has something underneath the ground probably, as I can't get any GPS signals, same with WKM, Naza, Remzibi OSD or Cyclops OSD
Easy hovering around 18min. with 9.0A total capacity, so taking out few minutes for RTH and some wind conditions- 14min. safe flight with 2min. to spare for safety. This beast has so much power, that I bet it could easily carry around 16.0A of total capacity 6s batteries:)
Nice video. please I have a project similar to yours and I would love you to guide me through some steps especially choice of components since you've had experience with different ones.
Hy Robo, I am buildung a Tarot t960 too. It's a wonderful copter. where did you mount the Esc's. If you have mounted them under the Motors, did you install Elkos on the wires. If yes, where did you install them (every 10 cm on the wires? or how) and which capacity did you use. Thanks a lot.
Impressive Video man!! Do you recommend the Pixhawk Flight controllers? And would you change anything as this video is some years old? I’m planning on building a hexacopter that is able to lift a dslr cam. What do you think of the TL68P02 as motors? keep it up!
Hi Roboforcer, nice video ...could you precise me if the gimbal is made by yourself or did you bought it ..i didn't understand wery well in your video about that... Tahnk's a lot and funny flights Philippe
+Drones Visions Aériennes No, I didn't make this gimbal. It came with the package deal with this copter from Foxtech, as much as I remember gimbal was called Falcon, for Nex5 or similar size cams.
Thank's Roboforcer, i've found it on... www.goodluckbuy.com/falcon-fpv-brushless-gimbal-camera-mount-for-nex5-7-cameras-aerial-photography.html is it the same...? it'll be to lift my Nikon 5300 D...what do you think about this, is it match ...? best regards Philippe
Drones Visions Aériennes Looks like that's the one, but it is meant for Nex5 size cams, and your Nikon is 1kg compared to 350gr Nex5. This gimbal is too weak for 1kg cam, it was just about enough for that Nex5. You have to do research what people are using for what cams, because there's nothing worse than motors not having enough power, and motors on Falcon will not cope with 1kg cam, that is presumably without any fancy lens that weighs another kilo or smth.
Cool. Is it a 3 axis gimbal and are you using a Sony Nex5? I am looking for a similar settup. what was rhe reason for you to go with the WK-M instead of the Naza v2. will you use waypoints?
It was a long time ago and I flew it only few times, I built it for a friend:) But the quality of the frame is pretty good, at the time it was nearly worth the money.
Did you mean the way I mounted my gimbal? No, I have no jello, everything is smooth as it should be. The key is to eliminate vibrations not to have them in the first place, rather than try to dampen them later. I take a lot of time and effort to balance my props very precisely, and motors as well if needed, therefore having no trouble with controllers or jello in the video. Another thing is- those rubber ball dampeners included are way too soft and gimbal just swings side to side- you have to have either gazillion of them, or compress them to stiffen a bit:)
Thank you, I mounted everything with great care. But I have a jello effect, and some friends told me about the landing legs that are too long and can cause resonance. You know these problems?
I do a different type of flying, so all these features to me is as useful as a 5th leg for a dog. All I need is bare gyros and on a rare occasion a bit of Acc and these DJI type of boards are dampening everything way too much. There's even no such thing as level without baro there! Aerial photo, selfies, watching copter hovering in front of my nose or following me is extremely boring to me:)

Very nice build!
No, I got that with 4500mAh 6s x 2- 9.0A total capacity, but that is only hovering in one spot:)
Nice video. please I have a project similar to yours and I would love you to guide me through some steps especially choice of components since you've had experience with different ones.
Thanks mate, even if there's more of a putting together rather then building from scratch:)

what brand batteries? what size props? thanks
I am barely getting 10 minutes on mine with tarot 320 motors and 10amp of battery

Dunno anything about them motors. If I had to build another one I'd change only ESCs as DYS are crap, one gave up.

Hi, are you still happy with this frame? im considering getting TL960A
It was a long time ago and I flew it only few times, I built it for a friend:) But the quality of the frame is pretty good, at the time it was nearly worth the money.
You used the BlackMagicPocketCinemaCamera ?
hi, you don't have a problem effect jellow? I have this problem ... I think landing

Yes, legs can be a issue as well, but on this frame I tighten them solid not to be foldable and didn't notice any resonance
Thank you so much :)
Hi, what motor do you have mounted on it? And what do you think about them?
Cheers !
you use : Lipo 5000mah 6s x 2 = 18 min ?
How much flight time are you getting out of your rig
Normal flying around 16mins with loads to spare to be safe
How much did this rig cost to build, I'm looking to upgrade from my Phantom 1 but not sure what to upgrade to

what sort of flying times you getting with a 6cell?
Ys-x4 is better than naza v2 and WKM?
Never had one, but KK2 or Naze32 for me is 100 times better than any DJI stuff:)
i use the ys x4 on my 960 and it flies amazing + igot all settings down on my phone tablet. follow me,waypoints, poi u name it :-)
