Loving tropical looking plants but living in Denmark is a big challenge. I have just covered my musa basjo using 12 wheelbarrows of leaves. All placed in a 2 meter high cage made of chicken wire. Here temperatures are expecting to plunge down to minus 8 within 4 days with temperatures below freezing point in daytime
Hi there, I wrapped my Musa Basjoo up in a winter fleece but wet weather and early frosts really battered it about. At what point should I hope to see new life, and similarly at what point do I know it’s officially dead? Of my two stems, one is very squishy but the other is still quite firm
Just found your Channel & subscribed straight away. Love your obvious passion and love for what you are doing there. Great advice re: Preparing the Garden for the Cold. I too live in a colder climate well over Winter anyways. Rural area in the southern part of Victoria, Australia in cute little Valley so experience frosts and zero or below temps although not too often thank goodness. looking forward to updates. Cheers ; )
Yes frost this weekend Craig. Very nice to see your greenhouse again thank for videos.

I noticed how you hung the bromeliads in the greenhouse but shouldn’t you hang them so they can still hold water or do you not add water over winter

What temperature do you try and maintain your greenhouse at during winter?
I’m aiming for a minimum of 5°C this winter.
Thanks for video, your garden is looking so full and lush!!
You get more R value if you wrap with sponge foam.
One thing i must do next year is buy a greenhouse!!
