Good Morning. First off THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your time you spend teaching us. These videos are instrumental in development and are a blessing. I have a question concerning custom options in advanced section of the create csv table. I have sorted my columns, however it is creating an individual file for each row in the flow due to the apply to each. I am not sure how to get past this. The columns get sorted correctly however the data is in multiple files and not just one. Any help or direction you might be able to give would be very helpful! Thank you again so much!

I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am trying to pass a SharePoint file back to Power Apps after creating it in a flow. I continue to get a 'true' value in Power Apps however I can see the output in the flow compose action is correct. My problem could be solved if I could pass the URL back to a Power Apps text input or directly into the SP list. Do you have a video for this type of issue?
Thank You! I don’t think I do have a video on this. I will recommend checking on forums in case someone has done something similar powerusers.microsoft.com
Thank you for the wonderful lesson, I am new to this powerapps things and learning lot from your videos. I have one question when I exporting a collection using your flow all text field giving correct result but for choices columns getting {value : "abc"} in csv, how to eliminate that?
Because thats how choice columns are rendered. You would need to either shape the data in power apps and send to flow or write expressions in flow. I have also shown another technique for export scenario which may help. Check ua-cam.com/video/UZdngrwWsqA/v-deo.html

However, I did not see "direct" option, I only saw view and edit option in the link type under the create share link action in power automate
Hi Reza, Thanks for this detailed step by step explanation of the tutorial. I was able to build the solution and it is working perfectly fine. I recently discovered a problem. When I integrate the power apps and power automate from my account and run the application, it is working fine. But the problem comes in when someone else tries to edit/run the application. They are facing issues in the "Create File" and "Create Sharing link" tasks in flow where the share point connection is broken. When they setup their sharepoint connection in the flow, my access is broken. So I'm really wondering like how this can be shared and used by wider audience as it seems impossible to setup everyone's connection in the flow if we don't know who's going to use it. I am not sure if I am complicating/missing any part here, so your input will be really helpful.
Most welcome! I have not experienced this issue. May be try the power apps v2 trigger for your flow and run the connector under your account. Something like ua-cam.com/video/ts-ggDAy7IQ/v-deo.html

Hi there, thank you for this great tutorial; one question when did you create the collection "colDevices". The "colDevices" element is not in the drop-down select list, so it is not being recognized.
Hi Reza, great video! I have a question. In minute 23:00 you use the Collect function to collect the export data, then you clear the collection at the end of the function. If I where to use the ClearCollect function, would it do the same thing? Thanks for sharing your content.
No since the flow is triggered from power apps and gets its data from apps. You can schedule flows and get data directly from data source. Check ua-cam.com/video/Kupz71dWYyY/v-deo.html
Hello Reza, thanks for all the material you share, I am writing to you because I implemented the solution you show to export a collection that comes from a powerapps gallery, but in my case the excel does not come out in columns but all the data is separated into commas in a same column how can I solve this? I would appreciate it if you could help me. Kind regards

Hi Reza, thank you very much for this video. With this method will I be able to export large data set (+2k record)? I know that you have a video on that topic, but I am interested in this method. Regards,
Thanks for the video, it really helped! Just a small query, my current requirement is to export only 1 record everytime. In that record some of the fields are blank, so when I export the collection, the column name also gets deleted. I would like to keep the column name even if it has a blank value. Is there an option to implement this? Like lets say I have this dataset A:a, B:, C:c, where B has empty field, I get A:a, C:c in excel, Is there a way to keep B as a heading as well?

Thanks for another great tip! Is it possible to create the file locally so you don’t have to configure it to work with OneDrive? Just have it put the file in the local download folder of the pc, and show the link in the bottom of the browser, like you had once you return the link?
There is a file system connector but that is configured on a per user basis. So, when a user requests the excel file, it would run on another users machine which would have to be available at all times. OneDrive is ideal as the connector runs under current user context and is available online at all times. OneDrive is the better approach.
Good day Reza, thanks for the video, it's really good! I am trying to reproduce as per gallery example, But I am facing issues with the formula GalleryName.AllItems, it does not recognize as a data base. Do I have any other option?
Hi Reza, Great Learning on this idea. By the way, is there a way to pass JSON data to flow for more than 2000? I apply the same concept but there's no result for collection for more than 2000. "No result from exportedfile, as well as in compose action in the flow", Thanks in advance for the help!
I would not recommend passing more than 2k data for performance reasons. Better option would be to call the flow, and let flow query your data source based on the condition to get all the data and load it in excel file.
Hello Reza. Im learning a lot by your videos. With this video i have one problem that i cant find out what i am doing wrong. In advanced options for create csv table action, you can define custom columns and list out the header and values. Those will be ordered. I believe you need to use the expressions syntax there. Something like item()?['Column internal name'] I do not have a specific video on this scenario though. I would recommend posting your issue with screenshots on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com
Hi, @Reza Dorrani ! Thank you so much for always sharing relevant content to the Community!!! Sometimes Automate doesn't recognize commas ( I guess) and doesn't perform column formation I didn't find a solution. Are there any parameters to be modified or is it a specific problem?
Thanks for liking & supporting my UA-cam channel. Issues with characters like commas might be related to expression syntax. You would need to escape special characters. It depends upon your scenario.
@@RezaDorrani, Thank you for your quick answer! My Excel file should have 20 Columns, but it only has 1. The lines are correct. I imagine it's something related to comma. Would I have to change something in Automate Compose or Parse Action? I replicated the same process you presented in the video.

Awesome video! I’ve applied this to one of my apps and it works great! I have a field in my SharePoint list that is a choice field with the allow multiple selections set to true. When the export flow runs I still get the array syntax of square brackets and curly braces in the column that my field exports to. This happens even though I added .Value to this field in my Power Apps formula. How can I clean up the array syntax in my Excel export so that only the choices selected will be displayed?
You would need to write expressions to reshape the data. Multi-select will return an array of data. You would need to loop through it, store information in a variable and then delimit it. Something you would have to try and test.
Alphabetical sequence is an in-built behavior of the Create CSV table action. In advanced options for create csv table action, you can define custom columns and list out the header and values. Those will be ordered. Its more work though.
Hello Reza, Mind blowing techniques and you have been very helpful. If your datasource is sharepoint. Will this steps work for export to excel from Powerapps. If not, do you have a video created for that already and if not, can you please prepare a video for the steps.
Hey Reza, great video once again. I have one question, can we somehow create file from an template, and then set the fields of that template excel file to be filled with PA data. For example, I’m building a travel expense application. The user tracks all his expenses in the app, which goest to SPO list, but at the end of the trip the user must generate an excel report with all expenses filled in a rows, as well as personal names, id, travel from and until date, etc. all data is present in PA and SPO.

DetailForm will contain a single record. So technically you are exporting a single row to an excel file. Possible. But you would need to pass all the column information of the form over to flow to create that single row.
Excellent video and really helpful Reza !! Thanks for all the information you share with us. Gallery loads data in batches of 100 (optimized loading). What you could do is when user clicks on export, perform same query as in gallery (with search criteria) and load data into collection. Then pass that collection to flow.

Wow, this video has been great! Spent ages trying to workout why I was getting an 'ID' error upon submitting the form only to realise that I had capitalised 'ID' in the schema - Doh!
Thanks for watching and liking the videos.
If you follow steps in video, it should create 1 file only be it custom columns or not.
I will have to look at your flow in action to know the reason for your issue. It would be best to post your issue with screenshots on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com

Because thats how choice columns are rendered. You would need to either shape the data in power apps and send to flow or write expressions in flow.
I have also shown another technique for export scenario which may help.

The direct link option type has been deprecated since.

Hi Reza, thank you very much for this video. With this method will I be able to export large data set (+2k record)?

In advanced options for create csv table action, you can define custom columns and list out the header and values. Those will be ordered. I believe you need to use the expressions syntax there. Something like item()?['Column internal name']

@@RezaDorrani,

When the export flow runs I still get the array syntax of square brackets and curly braces in the column that my field exports to. This happens even though I added .Value to this field in my Power Apps formula. How can I clean up the array syntax in my Excel export so that only the choices selected will be displayed?
You would need to write expressions to reshape the data.
Multi-select will return an array of data.
You would need to loop through it, store information in a variable and then delimit it.
Something you would have to try and test.
