Finally someone explained how to truly generate front to back pressure on gun. Somehow no one mentioned how to grip with strong hand for me that was the key thank you
I've always had an "okay" grip, but a few months ago, I decided I wanted to shoot faster, which meant I had to figure out how to hold a pistol so the sights returned to target after each shot. I watched dozens of videos from special forces and world champion shooters and nothing was working. So I started experimenting myself and after several months and several hundred rounds, I finally figured it out. I was worried about the gap in my palm because it didn't seem right, but it worked so I just went with it. Then I watch your video, and you explain exactly what it took me months of trial of error and expensive ammo to discover for myself. Man I wish I would have seen this video before I wasted so much time and ammo! I will definitely share this video. Thanks!
I've been teaching this grip for a long time but It was really cool how you related it to a compound bow which will probably help my students to relate the grip pressure and position better.

I have large hands and my fingers take up most of the grip with not much space for my support hand. This fixes so many of my frustrations. I can stop adding to my pistol grip playlist.👍🏾💯
🙏 that's awesome to hear bro. There are so many good instructors and shooters, but I had to adapt my own way of gripping to get the results I wanted. This was the result. I always tell people to try things they are taught but adapt them to what works best for them.

Nice explanation of the strong hand grip. I have found my way to the same strong hand grip and I thought I was way off the reservation with the gap but it worked for me too.
I found that the Gap is less important, it just so happens my hands are big enough to create one. What I feel is more important is the front to back pressure my fingers being more on the front of the grip can create, which with bigger hands will create a gap on the palm side.

Great video, I'm always working I'm my grip. I like your analogy with archery, which I also do. My current grip, my shooting hand is forward and back, like yours, but not to be the greater gripping hand, but instead it helps keep my wrist locked so the hand gun can cycle straight back and forward to its original starting point. My opposite hand grip is of equal pressure, but side to side and high as possible on the gun. When I am fully seated in my grip I torque my elbows upward to create a more stable platform in my arms. I hope I provided enough info. for anyone reading this to understand what I'm doing.

I always have to remember myself to stay relaxed, relax shoulders, move only my hands... and so on. I have that huge problem that i miss my draw in livefire a lot.
If I get time I will. Basically my train of thought is, during dry fire and Life fire practice I focus on my weaknesses. Sometimes it's one thing sometimes it's a couple. When I I'm shooting a match I try to only focus on my stage plan and execution. My only other train of thought during the course of fire is the sight picture of each Target I am shooting.

If I use 124 grain bullets I use a 14 lb spring. If I'm using heavier 147-150 grain bullets I use a 14-lb spring. In this video I'm using 124 grain bullets and a 12 lb spring.

Great video! I have a question about this particular pistol, what recoil spring are you using? 12 lbs or 14?

My principles on grip are still the same. I'm sure there may be some slight difference over the years, but this is what works for me.

I have larger hands hands than most of the shooters I know know. This is the reason I rotate my dominant hand behind the gun more.
