Watch the Men's Diving 10m Platform Final at Tokyo 2020! The 27th edition of this prestigious Olympic event, a tradition dating back to the 1904 Summer Olympics. China's Yuan Cao 🇨🇳 clinched the gold with an outstanding score of 582.35 points, while his compatriot Jian Yang 🇨🇳 secured the silver with 580.40 points. I find Olympics diving competitions to be a beautiful and classy form of sport
There is a fact that always winner and the 3rd plce one are the most happiests in the feild when the 2nd plce one is the disappointed one...
How ever they all are perfect, I must say that Japanese boy and Ukrainian sareda ware brilliant one day one of them will grab the gold for sure❤❤

also people need to know that when mitcham got 112.1, 5255b was 3.8 dd, it is now 3.6. Otherwise his record would have been beaten by Chen Aisen in 2016

If one of the judge gave 9.5 instead of 9.0, the gold and silver would have switched places. That's how close it was, and the silver diver went for a 4.1 diff hail marry, nailing it too and still came up 0.5 short... harsh.
It's not just a 0.5 difference. The gold medalist's scores were two 10s and five 9.5s, while the silver medalist's scores were three 9.5s and four 9.0s. Although the top and bottom two scores don't count, it still shows that the gold medalist's jump was of higher quality and his win was well deserved.
Cao won gold in London when he was a teenager, gold again in Rio.

Yang Jian knew he didn’t get gold when he saw the score. He was clearly disappointed at the score. He thought he scored at least 114 which he got before. But when he saw 112 he knew that wouldn’t be enough to win unless Cao Yuan screwed it up at the last dive. When he saw that he didn’t he knew he lost and was very upset at the score.
To my eyes though, I thought his score was fair. It wasn’t perfect you can see that from the splash.

He was, his name is Yang Jian he he won almost every major competitions for 3-4 years, and came second at olympics. He also knew it was his last olympics and his last chance to get a olympic gold, which he never got.

@@dianad150he actually knew after the score was announced that he wouldn’t get gold unless his teammate makes a major mistake. I think he was pissed because he probably felt he was a bit underscored for such high difficulty.
That's what I thought too . And no congratulations offers to the winner . But I suppose they're all hyper competitive .
If just one judge had given him a 9.5 instead of a 9.0 Jian Yang would have won . That's probably what rankled him the most .
