Good stuff man. Before I got into doing stuff on my own for my cars, I took my 1977 Nova to a shop in Dallas. They converted but did not change the condenser. Could you share the details, please? Thanks!
@@pol1970 A condenser replacement for that car is similar to replacing a condenser on most gm cars or trucks from the eighties. There are plenty of detail videos to help you there. The concern is that no one makes a hi flow parallel drop in replacement for your car. That’s not a big problem as you can find something similar but the hoses will need modifications to fit. This requires a professional or have to buy tools to do it. Until then purchase two eight inch pusher fans from Spal for the condenser. Don’t get the cheap ones like I have because you’ll need the max air flow as possible. The fans can be used with the high flow parallel condenser whenever you change it. Good luck!
@@craig7350 it’s not a ban It’s not to be used in anything newly manufactured. Eventually a lot of stuff will get banned but 134a will be around for ten years or more. They don’t plan to stop production no time soon.

How difficult was it to remove the old POA?
Not difficult because it's screwed in the pipe and another line to the evaporator. Just use two wrenches on both ends.
They're banning 134a, so you'll be doing this again with some other refrigerant soon.

@@RowdyCStuff Yeah they do. Its not used in new cars since 2021 (GM since 2015). Commercial chillers Jan 1 2024, and most everything else Jan 1 2025.
@@craig7350 not putting r134a in a AC is different then manufacturing r134a. They will continue to manufacture as a stop date has not been announced.
