@@DystopiaWithoutNeons I'm saying this because they think that in normal person's terms that something like 400k is something that you could use to do something extravagant in the government when it really isn't, the US government obviously looks for some of the best accountants they could find and the budget has been fitted well in the eyes of Congress for decades.
Mil spending in US gov terms doesn't even break 10% of funding at all especially when we have to protected nations like South Korea, Japan, Israel, etc. We don't just have a military spending just to get more aircraft or something, it's to protect other nations.

the us navy is primarily responsible for defending oceanic shipping lanes (esp. in certain areas such as off the coast of somalia, where piracy is rampant) and thereby making sure that global trade as we know it can exist. the main reason why the us military is so large to begin with is because they're obligated to defend numerous nations incase of war, such as europe (who have mostly dismantled their armies since ussr fell) and probs taiwan as well in 5 years 🤓
@@alanledger1858 Okay military andy. The think is USA isn't responsible for global trade, yea they fight off pirates off the coast of somalia for example but it doesn't mean it's just USA. USA does it because it's greater political power not because they just helping and protecting ships or global trade. Better military = more political power. And if you think new aircraft carrier is needed to fight somalia pirates who using motorboats, you are just insane. If you think USA really needs this new aircraft carrier more than healtcare for USA citizen your are prioritizing military more than well-being of people.
