I find it funny that "SPD" means Special Police Dekaranger, but the PR version takes the name SPD without even explaining it!
I do think the Ninja Steel looked more flashy, but the use of Burger Morpher in Ninninger made all the difference.

I literally stopped watching this video after Mystic Force’s morph because the votes were pissing me off. Power Rangers shouldn’t have won all of them…but these votes were ridiculous.

I tend to say that the PR ones are superior in almost every case. They are usually the same idea done with better special effects and more dynamic movement. Sentai should win for the sessons were they are literally the same though. Even the Mega Force morphs aren't bad, thought they are inferior copies of the sentai versions.
DekaGold didn't die. In fact, her transformation is what saves her when she got shot.

For the wild force Vs gaoranger, I would have pick Gaoranger. While the transformation are the same, the Gaoranger shouted out,'Summon! Spirit of the Earth!' Which is so cool in my book.

I like how people aren’t noticing the age differences in the videos. Obviously Super Sentai has been around longer than “Power Rangers.” There was an age difference between all of the different power rangers and Super Sentai. That’s why the power ranger morphs are a lot better. I’m a japanese person myself. ☺️

True, but up until a few years ago when they started skipping sentai seasons, PR seasons only aired about a year after its Sentai counterpart aired. Sentai has been around for longer, but there were 15 seasons of sentai before Zyuranger that were never adapted, so all the ones we see are very close to the same age

people forget that super sentai came earlier than PR, and usually thinks that japan make they version after PR
SUPER SENTAI had better morphs until Wild Force, after that, the power rangers morphs looked cooler to me, my favorites are dino thunder and dino fury

maybe im just an old fart but i don't like a lot of the modern the PR morph's cause they just throw in a lot of generic lasers and explosions to make it "cool"
I think Sentai wins hands down given the overall better quality and thought put into the morph scenes. Saban really dropped the ball and just went for gimmicky flashy effects and stuns that end up looking terrible. I started out with the OG rangers but I'd go with the original series any day

A lot of the older PR changes are better than the Sentai ones.
Old Sentai changes are too fast and lack the "wow" factor.
But as of Dekaranger and onwards, PR has a hard time measuring up, with a few being my favourites: RPM, Jungle Fury, and Ninja Steel.

11:49-11:53 100% agree, I don't get why SO MANY Power Ranger fans really hate Operation Overdrive and consider it one of the worst seasons? I just don't get it. It's easily up there as one of my favorites, if not, my favorite season. Yah, it doesn't have the best finale nor crossover and the Sentinel Knight's face in the battleizer is dumb, but all of those combined isn't enough to make it bad.
the worst season of Power Rangers is and will always be Megaforce/super Megaforce.
At the time bandai made some of the dumbest of decisions for overdrives merchandise, that alongside the fandom vs the actors and the morphicon incident has cemented eternal hatred. I just hate the mack plot and the toyline. Drivemax megazord is the biggest blunder.

I recently saw it for the first time and can say the plot wasn't that good and had a lot of poor writing moments. The butler carried the show. However, their morphing sequence was among my favorites if not my actual favorite because it really did look cool.

Well considering they made power ranger with better animation tools and technology you will see its better animation wise while sentai you have the old graphic , I'm not saying power ranger is bad but, I like sentai more I guess.

Over all that suit and Character were great additions to LightSpeed Rescue. I won’t deny, Demon Hunter Zeek was an awesome Character and suit, but the fact the Zeek was Movie Only, and was a one-time deal…well it hurts that Neither version of that suit or it’s design was never going to be used again.

I'm pretty sure the Power Rangers Official channel was started by buying a fanchannel (I believe it was Legendary Power Rangers) and copying over its videos to PR Official. That's why it's so janky, it's not really "official quality".
Plus, they'd do a new morph compilation every year by tacking the current season to last year's video, making it even more inconsistent.

The issue I have with most Power Rangers themed transformations is that they end up being far too generic and action jammed. Ideological style plays heavily into the Japanese henshin sequences to highlight their specific narrative elements.
Take the one from Beast Morphers. It's pretty generic and doesn't really give you a lot of context as to what it really entails beyond the theme. Swap to Go-Busters where specifically Beet Buster and Stag Buster are highlighted. When they morph, the armor from J actually moves from him to his partner to form the suits. It's built into the sequence to show that J was built specifically because Jin wanted a partner in addition to foreshadowing his dependence on J.
Flavorfully, this is also very prevalent in sequences like Samurai/Shinkenger. The Samurai sequence is long... Really long. Long to the point where you obviously are going to cut it at some point. There are even extra steps in there that make it even longer. Cut to Shinkenger where things are a bit slower, but without a lot of fluff. They even have the merged sequence where they sequentially do it in the same shot. Less is more is in play here since you don't NEED that much to have a good sequence.
Even on emphasis, you have to pick your battles. OO/Boukenger and JF/Gekiranger is a pretty egregious one. Mind you, I don't even like the theme of Gekiranger (there was a small sports subtheme which explains the helmets) and it ranks probably at the bottom for me despite it being a great series. But it's the overactionized sequences in PR that makes it too bloated for the time constraints. Boukenger is the epitome of efficiency in morphing (sans roll call) where the main sequences take about the same amount of time... but the Boukengers make it feel smooth because you aren't cramming so much into the sequence. The funny thing is that OO actually did a lot of things RIGHT with the sequence because they made pretty liberal use of Real Time morphing which is actually better for narrative AND speed because you can convey so much more by OMITTING the morphing sequence. This lets you maintain tension while transitioning it into the action sequence.
tl;dr: Treating the morphing sequence as a narrative device instead of a spectacle is pretty key to making things look gud.
I feel like I prefer the Power Rangers morphs more than the Super Sentai henshins. To me, they're more modern and more active compared to Super Sentai which is more cinematic

There is only two series where I say that sentai is allowed to clown on power rangers. Mega and Super mega should be wiped from existence, but I wished beast morphers was closer to GoBusters.
This is annoyingly edited, kept sudden-jar-skipping on your whims; of course it's your video and no misleading comparison title but the way this is made is just so viewers can hear your opinion, it's just a recap of your stream.
Someone should make a true comparison/versus video that does not skip and cut everything off while having multiple windows hovering everywhere.

I underestimated Super Sentai, a lot of them I haven’t seen after SPD/Dekaranger, they haven’t been messing around with the creativity… but I disagree with some of the results; Ninja Storm, SPD, Mystic Force and Jungle Fury have all been sold short.
Since you mentioned them, Roll Calls next? I feel there are some really close ones.

A lot of the sentai group henshins don't show the whole transformation. Like Dekaranger, that's a 'shortened' version of their normal henshin.
Also, Gou/Gekiviolet is basically using muay thai as the Wolf Fist.

Exactly, there was just way too many super sentai d eaters in that chat, i felt like a lot of power rangers ones were just better.
A lot this felt weird because for ninja storm as example the morph felt faster and spectacular while the sentai variant felt slow and not epic and some of them was just the same thing. I do love some sentai morphs, but half of them was eh.
A lot of them is shortened and not the full one like for example the dekaranger one.
To also note, if your commentary and voting is in real time, there was a trend for the ballot to get swayed over to Sentai whenever you discussed the transformation parts you liked the most, generally about Sentai, but that'd obviously be because you just watched it vs the PR version

It’s kind of interesting to see the evolution of PR morphs and how the era changes the perception of it.
Like when PR starts out, Sentai clearly had either better morphs or PR copied them. I do not care how much nostalgic value mighty morphin has for you, Zyuranger literally takes out the coin, PUTS IT IN THE BUCKLER, PUSHES THE BUCKLER OUT, AND THEN ROTATES IT 180 DEGREES WHICH OPENS IT UP WHILE YELLING DINO BUCKLER
Mighty morphin just ends up being green screen experimental stuff that was interesting but isn’t better, which is pretty consistent for most of the Saban era(excluding maybe light speed)
And then the Disney era comes along and it’s just like a majority of better PR morphs. Jungle Fury, RPM, SPD, operation overdrive, ninja storm go on a complete tear.
And then we go to neo saban where the morphs are mostly worse(samurai, megaforce, Dino charge, ninja steel)
Then Hasbro comes along and changes the original sentai morphs completely, which is interestingly conceptually but also they end up pretty generic and don’t add much new
I feel like there was a slight Sentai bias by the viewers because there’s no way Go-Onger’s henshin is actually better than RPM’s morph.

I really like the shield part for the light speed morph. I thought it was a really nice touch. But the cape thing for the sentai morph was kind of cool too.
Also I am not really a fan of the new sentai because all the morphers look like giant nerf guns and the dancing. I honestly think its one of the weirdest change

But to be honest Toei have a ziczac stat on their series. 1 light hearted ss follow by 1 serious one If you want serious sentai season you can always get one, every even years. I would recommend the current series Donbrothers, the show have a lot of dark drama/ mystery

There was one in Dino Thunder, they were starting their sequence but the monster shot at them first before they can even morph, love it when that happens, it defies your expectations.
Reminds me of a scene from Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power Arc where 3 characters were about to transform only for Android 17 to attack saying that they were wide open only to get told not to attack when there's a transformation, to be fair no one attacks a character transforming in DBZ, I mean a fight would be shorter if someone attacked a transforming character

@ironmaster6496 true but maybe he learned his mistake but I found out why no-one in Dragon Ball can land an attack on a character transforming is because the person transforming subconsciously protects themselves but guess it didn't work for the Kamikaze Fireballs

Go-onger's morph was good but come on rpm should have gotten that mark, they're racing down a freakin race track and suiting up at the same time.

Disney Era has cooler morphs because of budget. Saban and Neo-Saban Era has probably bland sequence or trying to get close to its adapted series because of low budget.
The cgi of america is on top of the world you know. Its funny that japan is the country of technology and they can't even make decent cgi in movies.

As much as I adore praise love Super Sentai way more then power rangers) if it wasn’t for power rangers originally I wouldn’t be a Sentai fan so they have that props in my opinion.
