He put a series of one suit of card like diamonds from ace to king at bottom of deck. All the shuffling does not alter the last 13 card in same suit. When chosen card is put on top, next to that card is always ace 2 3 4 5..., how many cuts does not change the order. When deck turned up he waits for a card from that suit in the beginning. So the chosen card will be that number below

Personally, I have a different ending to this effect, which I developed myself and I have not seen one like this in any other magician.
