I play mostly in Drop C with .56 thick string , I found that pickups with less lower frequency really helps in term of articulation and clarity under distortion . I'm currently using Thornbucker pickup, which is a huge improvement compared to the JB pickup. I'm very interested in the PAF Master and the 59/Custom Hybrid . Thanks for your demo ☺
The Katana sounds awesome. I'm thinking of getting one soon. Do you use a footswitch with it? If so what kind? Also, what kind of Peavey combo are you using?
Rad man, yes I do use a foot switch, it’s the big skinny long one lol it’s the GA-FC. The peavy amp is a 6505+-1x12 which is no longer made. The speaker in that amp is a WGS, ET90. I just did a demo on that :)
@@chrisCANguitar Peavey is a total mess right now. They canceled the Valveking line. I almost bought one last year. I've always liked Bandits and used them on some gigs in the 80s, along with their older 50-watt tube combo that a friend would let me borrow. Are you familiar with Gamma amps? I'm looking into them. They are solid state, all analog, and have about six separate models built in. You can't update them like a Katana, and they are mainly designed to be good pedal platforms built around a great speaker. Gamma is owned by Acoustic. There's some great stuff happening in the solid-state world these days.
Are these overly bright or just right. I like Seymour pearly gates which is a slightly hot vintage tone. I dont care too much for dimarzio tone zone, just so much low end.
I may put this set in my Schecter Deluxe. I have a Super Distortion in the bridge now and Air Norton in the neck and while I love this set I've been wanting something more vintage but with modern dynamics and this PAF Master set sounds perfect for what I need. I prefer the feel of pickups with lower output. They just don't have as much stiff snapback due to the lower magnetic pull. Considering how hot amps are these days, like a Katana, it's no longer necessary to use hot pups to get distortion. Not to kick high output pickups to the side, as I still like many of them, but I believe in letting the amp do the heavy lifting. Also, what I play leans more towards 70s progressive rock and instrumental jam band music.
Gosh we need more demos like this thanks sir for not playing the same old demo licks . I can wait for my bridge pad master to arrive
Rad man, thanks for the awesome words, and for watching
Does the bridge respond closer to a vintage/low output PAF or an overwound PAF? Great demo!
Closer to a PAF but with a little sizzle

Nice man! Let me know what you end up getting.
have you tried the 36th anniversary set? if so how do you compare the two?
I have not but from what I’ve seen online I prefer the PAF masters. Although my current axe has Seymour Duncan Pegasus and Sentient

Awesome stuff as always, Mr. Cannon. You do any Captain and Tennille covers?
Thanks man, ha! No, to cover lol

Not really man. It’s pretty balanced for the most part. I believe the EQ band goes 5, 6, 5.

Rad man :) I pretty much have these in all my guitars now
Also I play in a Do-wop/rock band and these make perfect sense
Be sure to subscribe too. I’m doing another demo of the PAF master but with my strat.
@@chrisCANguitar I'd love to see that. I'm subscribing right now.
