@@amywhite2873 oh my, that’s a long time. I had a childhood friend who went to prison for ten years; we were very close so it surprised me when he told me everything and that prison time would be his future for 10 years. When he got out, he told me he did his time alone. Didn’t talk to anyone but was known for the guy who ran around the track every day. I think what he did changed him and not for the good. By the way, you should get a UA-cam Chanel and talk about your time. For whatever reason, we are all interested in prisons; I’ve always been.

@@jumpsuitpabloHey...I'm not so sure the debut entrance is quite as "nuanced" as that😄For sure, the movies with banging on the bars and death threats is bs. And you're right, you WILL likely get several different approaches in the first five minutes. And, depending on the nature of those approaches, certain people may get certain impressions of you. But not sure those interactions are finely crafted pieces of a subtle puzzle to present each newbie with a sort of psychological obstacle course which unseen judges will be observing and scoring like at the ice skating 🤣
Maybe in Britain it's different but my introduction was towards the end of dinnertime - about 5pm. So everyone was out and maaaannn the racket! Not towards me, just general hubbub. Was pointed to the servery, feeling very, very self conscious in the green polyester tracksuit, also sobering up.....there was only chicken noodles left so that's what I had. Set it on one of the built-in table/chair combo, but because of being so overwhelmed, had only put the plate half on so it tipped all onto the seat and floor. Just thought now what? One of the area cleaners just came and swept it up no problems at all, no mumbling no attitude. I was left with about maybe less than half what i had started with but couldn't eat all of that. First night in induction was 2-up with someone who, unlike me, knew the ropes. Huge big black gang banger. Noisy bugger, calling to people he knew in other parts of the wing and also got me to rip my bedsheet into strips to make a rope to chuck something to someone. I didnt have the strength and neither did i think it wise to question why he couldn't rip his own sheet up!
At some point later on in the dark had obviously squatted down to retrieve something from his "prison pocket", some of which he smoked having fashioned a lighter by ripping the kettle from the wall and arcing the exposed wires. I just remember there being a loud pop and a flash followed by an electrical smell. I asked him if he was ok which he was and then once he'd transferred some of whatever it was to his mate across the way and whatever he'd had started taking effect, that was it for the night - ie him asleep and me lying there wondering how on earth I was gonna survive. By morning, now sober and hangover, deprived of my usual half pint of whiskey before lunch, the anxiety was through the roof but kept it together even though about 4 of his friends had walked in during morning rec. Which, as I was on the top bunk meant their heads were level with mine - remember feeling really exposed and vulnerable as well as shaky and sick as a dog. They looked tough and scary, yet handed me a cup of hot, sweet tea - real gents❤ When the door was locked later in the morning, i was really in trouble and literally didnt know where to put myself. "Sparks" rang the Call bell which i had seen but did not know u were allowed to use. A guard came, and he explained to him i was in quite a bad way which the guard could see so i was taken off to Healthcare - a much quieter unit, only about 40 people instead of 150 - and luxury of luxuries, single occupancy accommodation! In that establishment there was not just loo and sink but shower too so en suite facilities! That was my home for the next 5 weeks while i detoxed and levelled out. It really became fairly easy only a few weeks in....and after that I made myself right at home!! Totally revamped the Laundry (don't think Denise and Carmel had seen the likes of me before! After 4 months in that place, it went from dusty and ramshackle to spotless and about 3000 articles of clothing neatly folded like at a department store and all in size order rather than a heap😅 got library, book club and film club privileges soon after and then off to another place... another 4 or 5 months there then Open the last 9 months so 18 altogether, it was over in no time. I kinda miss it in certain ways!

The closest I've come to having to try to not look like a prime victim was when I lived in Portland, Or over 20 years ago. I was young and I looked even younger. It was during a time I was usually homeless, but actually had a house to crash in for a bit. I had to take several busses late at night and everyone looked at me like I was meat. I used to take the top of a peel off soup can and keep my finger through the tab in my purse. I was so scared, but I tried hard to look like I was in my element. I'm pretty sure I failed.

Two of my older brothers, starting from the 70's (when I was born) until into my early 40's were revolving-door felons.
One of them had me muling drugs into the prison for him on visits (kids weren't searched as thoroughly back then? It was a string of tiny bundles wrapped in water balloons tied together like a shoelace, and his wife would lace it through the waistband of my prairie skirt, I thought I was the coolest kid EVER, but it led to me bragging to our sister who ratted us out to our parents. I was mad at her for YEARS! My perception of loyalty was warped 😔)
The other one, well, he idolized the *other* one, and is lucky to be alive and breathing free air.
The other one got to do that for a minute, but is no longer with us due to damage his heart took due to drugs. He screwed us all over so many times, none of us were there.
The other one is so....I dunno, he is so utterly institutionalized still, that he sees everyone in the world as a potential resource, and that's not cool.
Anyway, sorry, I wasn't trying to tell y'all my life story lol.
All I really *wanted* to say is that between the two of them, they amassed *decades* in prison, but NEITHER of them had *any* tattoos at all. The eldest said he would never have an identifying mark on his body, and the younger followed suit. BOTH gave me shit when I got them, but *I* had no need to fly under the radar lol.

Im a real average looking white dude no tattoos or anything, 5'9, 22 years old at the time. i was in galveston county jail for a misdemeanor alcohol related charge, wasnt worried because i had been to jail lots of time for xanax and alcohol type stuff, and always got a bail and left within a few days, never seeing more than a holding cell or drunk tank. I guess i thought I was cool for going to jail or something idk. Ill never forget the last time i went. We were walking in a single file line to go see the judge and i was at the back of the line still kinda dazed and hungover or whatever. Super exhausted. I briefly took a wrong turn and was about to walk into this pod full of inmates. This massive freaking 300 pound dude must have been 6'5, i think he was a trustee, grabs me by my shoulder and kinda jokingly says something to the effect of "woah kid you dont wanna go in there haha" and pointed me in the right direction to the courtroom. I could tell by the way he grabbed my shoulder that if he wanted to kill me with his bare hands there would be literally nothing i could do to stop him at all. He could tell i was not built for jail at all and gave me this expression like he was joking but also completely serious kinda like a warning. hard to explain. It was like he was very nicely telling me "kid you are soft as fuck and dont ever come back to jail again" all with a facial expression. Never got in trouble since then. I really understood at that moment that once you get a serious charge or for whatever reason have to go in that pod foreal you are in your own at the mercy of whoever may be in there and theres no escaping.

Everytine i entered a new block the guys usually couldnt care less. They got their own shit going on. The scared straight comparison is true, but when id walk in, its either 1 person knows u and runs up, or some guy whos hungry helps u put away your stuff bc they hope u will feed them. Then they hit thwir cell phones and see what u did. Thats when the chesters need to start worrying, about 15 mins AFTER they enter

Better to tell him straight up. I’ll do it if it’s likely that I’ll get the bag to the cell safely. If it gets a hole it I’m not taking it. Only break rules I know I’m gonna get away with

OMFG! I was nearly going to stop the video, (like I often do) and comment:
'Prison politics, it seems, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't!'
Then a couple of minutes later towards the end of the video, you literally said the same thing! 😂
It's crazy how many times influencers take the words out of my mouth. I've always felt I've had like a 6th sense with some things. It's freaky.
'penguinz01' also speaks words that I've already thought, way before he says them.
I wonder if this is the start of you doing the same. Or it could just be a one off coincidence lol! Anyway, I know this is such a random comment. BUT I bet you're thinking, 'great minds think alike' because I am! haha 😝

🇨🇦 I think she is a ‘mean girl’ and gets her kicks from mocking him when ever he takes her for her word. She probably loves telling all her friends what a nerd or whatever she calls him he is ,and how gullible he is because he’s so taken with her. I wish the young ones these days would figure out how to stop the ‘ mean girls ‘ from ridiculing susceptible people who have a hard time socializing . Come on ! We’re in the time of fiction future, let’s get them to stop. That behaviour is immature and NEVER NECESSARY to get a laugh . Regarding the Drake Zeidel story . I typed to slowly and didn’t get this sent on time . I’m trying my best to learn about these tablets , maybe a cell phone in the future .
