He is so good at explaining things that would otherwise make no sense. I really have to donate to keep Khan Academy going.
yeah that is so true
Honestly, if khan academy didn't exist i would fail math so hard.....
Your still failing ( JK)
BRO U CANT, YOU GOT THE SHIKA PFP
Uh
23 yrs old taking College Algebra, forgot how to use exponents. Thanks Khan!
This saved my math grade! (And I just noticed this was posted on my birthday! Best gift ever!)
Hi
0 to zeroth power is equal to 1? The universe is one big mystery!
No, that is indeterminate.
Undefined
I think Khan has been sent by God to save us. I don't know how my dad made it through college without youtube, lol. They actually had to read the math book, yuck. A math book makes about as much sense as a basketball racket.
John Smith LOL 😂
why do i need math class when i have you?? please be my teacher
Because you need a paper.
'two tooths' 13:46
xd
I didn't pay attintion in math today and i have tons of homework on it!?!?!
You helped me so much...Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!
(first comment) I LOVE YOU MAN!! These videos have saved my life soo many times! Last night I had to tutor someone about something I didn't know about (Cellular Respiration) and your videos helped me learn all of Cellular Respiration in less than 30 minutes. Saved my life, and my friends life so many times! My teacher now uses your videos for extra lessons :) You are awesome
You are just amazing Salman bhai!Thank you for this!It has helped me to understand how exponents work. Before this i would often memorise and forget but now i find exponents easy.Thank you once again :)
This is great
him telling the 0th power explanation to why it is 1 is just gold, never understood before today
I can learn this shit for weeks and not understand a word my teacher is saying, but when I watch this video once, I'm fucking Albert Einstein!
Lol.
@@tatsumakisempyukaku Lol.
"So, a few videos ago..." 😀
I love this channel, it's extremely helpful!
This man is doing God's work dude. I've never had a teacher explain anything this simply and effectively
So Helpful
Yeah really
Wow, you are awesome! Explained much better than my maths teacher could have. My earphones were stuffed so I didn't even realise this had audio for the first half, yet I understood perfectly with your visuals. Very helpful! :)
I feel like a lot of the math stuff past 7th grade is stuff that you will never need to use in your life unless you become a rocket engineer or something like that
really helped for exams ty soo much!
I'm in sixth grade and next year I am going into pre-algebra because my math teacher thinks I am ready for it. Thank you for the pre-algebra playlist! It is really helping ^_^
Don't people normally start that in sixth grade? Unless it's just my school...
+DK2FML 89 yeah i was doing algebra in 7th grade haha
At my school (going from grade level six) we do math (grade level) 6, math (grade level) 7, pre-algebra starting in the 8th grade, then so on and so forth. My school is really weird
Savannah Skinner ummmmm I was put in pre algebra this year as a 7th grader and its freaking hurting my brain...... any advice..????
+Winter Girl don't die
This was really useful! Now i understand!
Sal's videos are still amazing to this day! i had to use his videos for my exams and he is the only teacher i grt
this tutor is fantastic
Anyone else so far into quarantine you start watching math videos to brush up your memory
I'm revising for my exams so thank you for refreshing my mind
I was hoping to find the answer to what would happen if you were actually multiplying an equation for example 5/6 to the power of two would that just affect the numerator and/or the denominator?
Try the automath app if you have android. Just take a photo of a question and itll answer it with steps
Also
(5/6)^2=((5^2)/(6^2))=25/36
since
(a/b)^2 is the same as (a^2)/(b^2).
That comes from (a/b)^n=(a^n)/(b^n)
Set n to the power of 3 for example:
You would have (5/6)^3
(5/6)^3=(5^3)/(6^3)=125/216
And that is saying the same thing as (5/6)*(5/6)*(5/6)=(5*5*5)/(6*6*6)=125/216
Thank god for 60 minutes. You saved my life.
for the example with the fraction and the negative exponent u can also invert the fraction and make it 3 to the power of 2 over 1 and it works the same way, thanks a lot though it really helped
Definitely not me forgetting this while doing algebra 2 :DD
thankyou! this really helped a lot!
I'm 7th have gem eco coming up thanks for the review
ay to be honest i aint even pay attention to my teacher but i got daddy khan
Helped a lot thanks :)
Tes tmrw and i think im rdy :)
Hopefully Pre-Algebra is hard for 7th grade xD
Ya
Great video! it really helped finish my homework tonight. Keep up the good work guys! :D
I knew x^0 power equaled 1 but I never had it proven! Thanks! =)
Thanks for the explanation at the start, seems more logical now Ahah :D !!
Thanks for Turkish subtitle support.
Amazing
6:36 for some nice sounds
Flamingcapybara huh
"quick maths" -big shaq I do agree, this is quick maths
You are using very good tools....can you, please, share the name of software you are using to write and then the software you are using to record. Thank you.
You're the best teacher i've ever had.
Im watching this in the midst of studying integral calculus for calculus I. I'm always forgetting the intuition but im sure after a while it lll stick in my head
i understood thank u may god bless u
Thanks so very much I usually find fractions hard in 6th grade but you explain it so good that I find it easy
As a freshman in high school this is so simple and easy to understand thank you thank you thank you ^.^
You have no idea how thankful I am right now.
Thanks God Khan academy exists
I mean, I’m top student. 99 percentile. Even so, I still learn soooo much from your videos!
Really helping me with college algebra so far! Thanks for the great content.
Oh wow college I’m learning this in 6th grade bc I find it interesting
so true
I didn't know some things, but its clear now!
you could just do just do this - a^(m/n) = root(n,a^m)=(root(n,a))^m if you don't understand type this on cymath
8:33 for stuff like x^(2/3) for all you Calc students studying Integrals right now...
for the second last example tho,
X⁻³ X⁷
------ = ------ , I think that's the easiest way
X⁻⁷ X³
Thx XD
your reasoning is extremely good.. Make it more visible and a little bigger....
How to solve if fraction proper got zer0 exponent?
it's the first thing he says
O really i think i should hear those words..... B. T. W thnx for sayin
Great video, I just wish u would have given some examples of the things with 0's
Khan academy: “Now let’s make it a little more confusing” Me: please don’t
Khan academy: “Now I’m gonna take it to even ANOTHER level. Make it even MORE confusing. Even MORE daunting.” Me: PLEASE DONT
Very well explaination..
*sigh* In a perfect world, math wouldn't exist
Math is intensely useful. I don't even know if the word "Intensely" can actually properly convey the usefulness of math...
Rachel Dennison Math is very interesting if you have the right teacher.
Actually it would be the opposite but ok
You wouldn't have the Internet, or UA-cam.
Rachel Dennison : do you mean in a perfect world math would be most effective at explain unpredictable aspects of our world like the weather .
thanks for existing, khan academy
oh gud maths📊📈📈
had to watch this like 100 times to get it in my head but it worked i got a a on my maths test for gcse
Salamat shopee
THIS GUY IS JUST SO AMAZING. Thanks Khan
so much better than my teacher
Great vid! I was surprised to see how easy it was to follow along.
i hope you write neatly because im taking note
wow you explain this wayy better than my precal teacher(probably because shes in her 60s and have a heavy irish accent) lol.
helping me get my diploma thanks!
it would be interesting to see what school would be like without grades. Only if all students had the drive you have. If you understand what i'm getting at
I get that x^0 is 1.
But my question has always been that if 0 is 0, then why isn’t x equivalent to x^0??
In other words, why isn’t x^0=x?? Because x has zero exponents, right?
The only thing I thought to counter this was if we right 20, and zero isn’t anything, then 20 should be equivalent to 2, because why write the zero if it isn’t anything. But there is a significance to putting a zero to signify two sets of ten or 20
So does x^0 do something similar?
Thank you I found this very useful.
i have a question, hope you respond. At the last part, where you simplified 3x^2y^3/2 over xy1/2, why did you subtract the exponents of x and y??
+cerwin labadan Because x^a / x^b = x^(a-b) When you divide, you subtract the exponents. You can also think of it as: x^a * 1/x^b, and knowing that 1/x^b = x^(-b), this is equal to x^a * x^(-b) and now you can just add the exponents (because there's multiplication), so this is x^(a-b)
+Neme thankyou :)
Or simply if you have like 2^5 / 2^3 you can clearly see that this is equal to 2*2*2*2*2 / 2*2*2, so the three 2s cancel out and you're left with two 2s on the top - that's why you subtract.
I might have missed a video... Had you mentioned that x^0 = 1, given x =/= 0?
That condition is pretty important, because we need to preserve the truth that 0^x is equal to 0. But if x = 0, then.... Well, you see the problem! What is 0^0? 1?? 0??
Oh... From this we can conclude that I should watch THE WHOLE VIDEO before typing my nonsense comments! Heheheh...
Seriously, good series, Dude...
0^0 is indeed undefined because we know that a^0=1 but 0^a=0 and so we run into a contradiction.
It’s useful in calculus when you calculate limits of 7 indeterminate forms using l’Hopital’s rule.
thank you for your help sir!
Our teacher actually told us to watch this...probably too lazy...thanks btw!!!
So if you have -9° (negative nine to the zero power), does that equal 1 or -1? I think you said that everything to the zero power equals zero but the negative sign is not in parentheses. Would that not make the final outcome (which is one) negative?
Moriah Thompson -9^0=-1. (-9)^0=1.
this is useful thank you
thank you! this really helped me with my mathe hw(:
Is zero to the 0th power still one?
Insane Kawaii in some cases, yes.
Rachel Lin this is only used by convention of power series. 0^0 is indeterminate. You have to use calculus to calculate limits of 7 indeterminate forms using l’Hopital’s rule.
my brain just expanded so hard
omg thank you my teacher doesn't do class lessons that's why we need to self learn
Say you were asked to put this in it's simplest form, what would that be? 4^-3/2
charleeeeh that’s 1/128. If you meant 4^(-3/2), it equals 1/8. Note the difference in parentheses.
Thank you..
my teacher just sent me a link to this when i asked for help LMAO
thank you :-) I can do this type of... math? I kind of found this confusing though.
You're a life safer thanks!!
Thank you very much for this wonderful video! It helps me on my homework :) and I hope I get it correctly! Haha! Thanks! :)
thank you thank you thank you!
...Still don't get it.
Guys, this is obviously the meaning of life.
You have nice handwriting
Thanks Mr. Khan :) !!
oof didn't realize im watching this exactly 10 years from when it was posted
But how would you solve 2 to the 7/12th power?
i loved math before 3rdgrade honestly 😩
