Wow, fantastic Build, Aaron. Simple, yet sturdy design + Matchfit system.... bravo!! This is one of the best matchfit workbenches. I recently built a workbench and intend to route Matchfit dovetail grooves on it and your workbench gives me plenty of ideas and inspiration. Your idea of having multiple smaller workbenches - which you can snap together as needed - is great, especially for a small shop.
I really am enjoying this setup. I have 3 made and will be doing a quick review video of the setup. They should work great for small shops.

Love the idea of wearing rubber, gripping gloves with tablesaw cuts. Great way to always keep a grip.
I agree. Some say it’s more dangerous but I feel like I have more control with the increased grip.
@@aaronbebeau it's reasonably safe with a sawstop. It's absolutely batshit crazy for a typical saw. Fingers disappear faster than you can blink with spinning blades and I've seen bone exposed just as fast with other spinning tools like drill presses.
Love my Matchfit clamps. A little grinding and they also fit the Festool tracks.
Yeah I do like this workbench, but I am currently building a new one with dog holes. I probably will incorporate the Matchfit system too. The build video will be out soon.
39.95 for an american made cyclone for your dust collector----next best thing to sliced bread and it will save you time/money on chip removal/disposal nice video, needs more audio thanx rick

Looks great! Need to build one - planning on torsion box top - but now you motivate me to add sides. Was hard to tell in video - is it MDF in center? And what finish did you use - will it prevent glue ups from getting stuck tit he table? Thanks for great build video
Yes it’s a high density MDF. So far it’s holding up great but time will tell. I actually have three workbenches built now and will be doing a quick review of them in action soon.

I used a high density MDF, so basically HDF
Very impressive build. This looks like it's a lot stronger than most other benches similar to your design. Where did you find those casters?? I have been looking for those for quite a while.

Nice bench! Do you ever find material getting caught in the grooves when using this as an outfeed table? That would be my concern with this approach over a typical smooth-top (or even better, formica or similar for lower friction) outfeed table. Can't argue with the holddown versatility though - that part's excellent.
So far I haven’t had any issues with materials getting in the grooves. I do vacuum it off from time to time though. My long term plan is to get the folding outfeed table though.

@@overthinked If you use the matchfit bit it should be less prone to such an issue. The Matchfit bit leave a small chamfer on top that IMO would prevent material to get stuck in the groove on sliding movement.

@@Marcus_Caius yep you are correct. The Matchfit bit I does have a small round over. Definitely helps.
Great video. I'm buidling out one of the mobile Husky adjustable workbenches now. I was going to add the matchfit tracks to the top and sides (every 4 inches) but saw a couple videos where people thought every 4 inches would be overkill. If you were to make one again, would you change anything about the grid? Was thinking maybe 2 long tracks, one along each long edge, instead of the whole grid.
I built a whole new workbench. I did make a video if you’re interested. The Matchfit system is good but I decided to go with dog holes. If I was to build another Matchfit bench the grid would be around the perimeter and a few grooves in the middle. Every 4” is not needed and becomes more of a nuisance. I address this in my new workbench video. Hope this helps good luck!
Thanks@@aaronbebeau , I thought I saw in one of the videos that you would have gone with dog holes. I had dog holes on my last workbench, and I found I almost never used them, and was always losing screws, bits, etc through the holes. I had larger holes I would put trigger clamps down, and found that really useful, but again, always losing things. I'll check out the new video, interested in hearing what you found from using the matchfit for a period of time. Thanks again!
Nice build. Curious ... if you use the matchfit system for your assembly table, what happens when glue gets into the grooves?
I was a bit worried about this myself before building it, but I haven’t had any problems. I try to clean as I go, and the few spots that I’ve missed just scrap off pretty easy. With that said the one gripe I do have is…when doing large glue ups the clamps themselves are hard to slide around, but overall the pros out weigh the cons.
@@aaronbebeau Similar to what I've heard. Been told to use wax on the clamps and that tends to transfer to the grooves. Appreciate the video and the reply.

Ive seen several matchfit clamping table videos but yet to see one being used, in action, with the exemption of table sleds. I am interested in this product but I need to see it actually being used.
I use the system all the time. I will be doing another workbench video in the future. I have some other ideas that would like to incorporate.

The video was great, but you do need to look at getting a mic to wear on your shirt or jacket. The last narrative part was barely legible, but looks like a very useful and long-lasting work bench.

Are you using MDF for the tops and sides and what do you finish them with?
Yes it’s a High Density MDF (HDF) finished with shellac. I like this setup so much in the future when I redo my top, I will add a Formica laminate. Hope this helps

I went to the site of match whatever pro. Two clamps and a few bits of hardware for a hundred bucks? Oh yes...don't forget the free bit! I'll stick to t track, thanks. Anything you've done with this vastly overpriced crap serves only to warn intelligent woodworkers not to buy.
T-Track is good too, definitely not knocking it. I do like this Matchfit system though. I’ve found many uses with it around me shop. Glad you found what you like 👍
