I appreciate your video as a summary of the show cause I met an actual fan of it who was encouraging me to watch it. Moe after K-On exploded just felt overdone. It's such a shame to hear that a lot of the backstory gets lost in the show of actual Soul Eater. I just finished reading the manga so I got all that backstory. The fact they waited until a prequel spin off to add back story to all the side characters??? Wild.
Soul eater not is highly underrated and like anyone who talks trash about it or say they don't understand it literally never even focused on the context of the show
Soul eater not makes no sense to me, it’s supposed to be a prequel like a year before the og, but the og cast looks older, there all seniors somehow, and there are just a lot of other things they introduce that doesn’t make sense,like having dorms rooms but maka and soul live in an apartment and the inside of the academy looks completely different
Wow i didn't know this existed! Great video my friend i will say not to big on the animation style tho it looks like every other modern anime instead of the unique look of the original
The thing about the characters in soul eater that get more attention in NOT is that the soul eater manga actually expands upon these character too. While NOT shows more of Kim and how she got her partner, a decent amount of characterization can be found in the manga for some less important characters. The story after a read of the manga feels like “remember that back story told by a character? Here’s that story as it happened” A reason why I don’t like NOT is the abysmal amount of fan service and how most of the entire cast are girls. I guess that’s not a bad thing but as a male watcher I definitely found the show less enjoying than soul eater as I found it way more “girly” than the original.

Yeah, I can’t disagree that the cast looks a lot older than they do in the original series.
