Yes this is from CTV because the open was shortened so we wouldn't see and hear the "brought to you by" stuff at the beginning. Now about that Sven storyline. In those days in Saskatchewan prior to cable, we had two English tv stations and to say Another World was a phenomenon is an understatement. I saw the movie "Close Encounters in the winter of 1978 right after the end of the Sven story. When that actor appeared briefly on the screen, you could hear people gasp, "It's Sven."
I saw Close Encounters in a Theatre in New Foundland while on summer vacation. The place was full of teens and we all shouted "SVEN!!" every time he appeared on screen.
The color changing rings of ANOTHER WORLD in the late 70's my Mama watched it since the first day which was May4th 1964 til it aired its last episode on June25th 1999
They didn't simulcast it from the American feed - they had their own copy on tape obtained directly from P&G (soaps were shot weeks in advance). This was also necessary, especially in the 90-minutes days, because American networks at the time carried much more advertising than Canadian networks were allowed. So CTV started Another World off with a recap of the previous episode that wasn't shown in the US.
Wow, mrceleb2006. Thanks for the info. I'm a Canadian too and I didn't realize that but now that you look back on it, we "always" had Canadian Commercials when AW was on.
@CelesteK NBC didn't want to save AW because they were not able to own all of it. There was a huge fight that lasted for years between NBC and Proctor & Gamble over it and it's detailed in an interview with Victoria Wyndham. NBC did everything they could to destroy AW after P&G didn't sell it off.

P&G products were indeed advertised on CTV during 'AW'...almost all of the advertising during CTV telecasts of 'AW' was national.

When I was really young, I saw "Another World" in TV Guide and thought it was a science fiction show. I was sorely mistaken.
