Inevitably, there will be haters. I know it's almost impossible, but don't listen to them. Their criticism is often times more about themselves than it is about you. I immediately took to stream all the tracks in the album at the stroke of midnight after hours of eager anticipation. By then, I was half-asleep, but it actually helped send me into a state of daydreaming. Each track with their distinctive moods conjured imaginative scenes and brought up various memories throughout my life. At the end of it, I was pleasantly surprised at how much it took me on a journey internally within that one hour. Listening to the album in full with all its lush sonority is a delight, and despite hearing these pieces before, you made it sound new. To be honest, I had previously overlooked Schumann in the years before I discovered you. I did not really get his music. But ever since I followed you as you embarked on this task of bringing out his dynamic personality through the lens of music, my appreciation of his works has grown. I also laud you for bringing such a human touch to this project, making us think about our place as human beings in the world. Thank you for this, and I look forward to what you'll come up with next. I particularly enjoyed the Davidsbündlertänze, the only recording of which I had in my library was the aging (1960s hissy analogue) Kempff recording. After listening (and reading your booklet notes as I did) I searched your UA-cam and came across this video. So nice to see your progress and success - I look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next.
I was listening to your album all day long, it is beautiful - thank you. Still my favourites are “Von fremden Ländern und Menschen” and the last Davidsbündlertanz “Nicht schnell”. They are also perfect for me to play as a recreational musician. I also like “Wild und lustig” but I think I will never play it as it is quite complex 😵💫 🤗
