I credit the original 2008 sets as being my first real Lego sets. I was 6 years old. It’s cool to see that they are still throwing back to their earlier days.
Me too. Except this was my first Lego Star Wars set and probably my favorite from nostalgia. Just wish the Rebel speeder was bigger like it used to be and maybe a red shirt rebel trooper would be fun

Anyway when i got it i got both sets as a "reward". I remember being afraid of my own hands and hiding them in my sleeves, i could barley build the sets. good times
The imperial drop ship does look better but it also holds less troopers which I think is a serious problem. Not to mention that we're losing 2 minifigures. This should not have come with a 25th anniversary minifigure. If I wanted to buy a 6 copies of this set for army building then I wouldn't want 6 of the droid instead of 6 troopers and 6 rebels
Agreed. Obviously the point of this set is army building, and whether they want to give you the proper number of minifigs or not, there's no reason the "dropship" couldn't have been designed with more seats.
But building up your army of Pink droids is totally what you want right? Yes my sarcasm at this gimmick. Why a gimmick? So Lego can charge $40 for what otherwise would be a $30 max set. Only +5 years ago you could buy 2 SW battle packs with 4 figures each for about $15 a pop and in some examples with 3 Unique figures each. No need for random figure inclusions to sell them. That was real value without manipulation.
I think the dropship looks significantly worse than the previous ones, it looks more like something out of a marvel set than something blocky and non-aerodynamic like the typical star wars transport it's also barely a dropship anymore, and you can't convert it to transport cargo as easily/elegantly now the rebel speeder looks cool and is a great upgrade
Tbh this set is (kinda) priced right It's 383 for 40 bucks Lately star wars sets have had an increase of 10 bucks in each set (the mandalorian season 3 for example)
This set is so cool but man is the lack of the 2 extra figs frustrating. Normally when you spend more, you get more. Normally if you buy 2 $20 battlepacks, you’d get 8 figures! Now we get 6 regular figs and an anniversary fig
But the builds are better than normal battlepack stock. They're denser and contain more parts. I honestly think this is better value than 2 of the $20 snowtrooper battlepacks, both build and playability wise.

The 2008 imperial drop ship was one of my first Lego sets and definitely was my first Star Wars set. It holds so much meaning to me and it’s still one of my favorite Lego sets. The 2019 remake was also a great set. While this new one is def the weakest of the 3, I’m just so happy it still gets a remake after all these years. The og rebel scout speeder I always wanted but never had so it’ll be nice to get both vehicles in one set
LEGO website says $40. So glad because I wanted to pick up two of them but $45 just seems ridiculous. $40 is too but at least it comes in at the same price as the ‘22 fighter or ‘20 AAT with the same size boxes.
That rebel speeder looks amazing! I can’t say the same for the Imperial dropship thingy, it certainly looks off compared to the original and 2019 model, but it is nice and sleek. The price is $5/$10 more than I think it should be, but hey, thats modern Lego Star Wars for you. The figures are decent, but I am so bummed to be missing the shadow/black stormtrooper!
Disappointed in the lack of a dark trooper, increased price and a out of place anniversary figure out of all the possibilities they have. The few month window is trash, they should just do the 25th anniversary figure till the end of the year and keep making the set and sell it around $30-$35
The few month window is highly sus.... maybe Lego wants to avoid the set getting the inevitable 20 to 25% discount to what it's actually worth. Full FOMO and gimmick tactics at work.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of the newer Imperial Dropship design. I like the 20th Anniversary & original design much more. The new Rebel Scout Speeder is a cool-looking update, but I wish LEGO made it to include the 4th Rebel Trooper like the original set.
dude, you know that's NOT allowed to expose Lego's gimmick so clearly!! But I salute you for doing the math. That's an boatload of cash just for some figures.
Limited edition? The scalpers will have a joy ride with this set. Another thing that bugs me is that they put the droid in this set. You don't want to army build astro mechs. Fives should have been in this set, he's the only named minifig that one might like to army build.
I've been saying this a lot lately. But the shills can only defend this set saying "bRo, it'S a coOL remake, toTally, liKe, woRth the $40 b/c yoU get liKe 6 figures and an astromEch!" No, it's pathetic and clearly these defenders never bought any of the good OG battlepacks.

Making QT-KT as a minifig is cool, but I think they could have gone with her design before the D-Squad modifications. Having a Pink Droid may be limiting for some people, but then also having the caution stripes for the heavy duty magnet in her dome feels very limiting when you look at the rest of her design. This is certainly accurate, but the caution stripes just feel out of place for the pink droid outside the context of the D-Squad arc.

I agree, I’m assuming they are doing it because of the 25th anniversary figure, but they should just repackage the set replacing the droid with an extra trooper from either side. This 2 in 1 battle pack concept is great in my opinion, and it shouldn’t be avaliable in such a low time period
I been waiting for this kinda of set as someone who bought the tantive set this year and is looking to army build stormtroopers and rebels. I’ll need at least two since it’ll be 6 of each
Got the scout speeder all those years ago when you had to choose between the two. Loved the rebels and the tower turret that came off with the little levers for controlling. Still was jealous of the stormtrooper troop flyer though!
YES I AGREE, I have loved the episode II style phase I clones ever since 2013 when they finally made their return and have gotten each play set that included them (except the 2013 AT-TE and Gunship cuz I was like 12 and didn’t ask for big sets like that). But especially after me getting the 2022 Advent Calendar (has a phase I commander) and Clone Blister pack, I have been wanting more phase I troopers with the updated torso and leg printing. I hoped they would do more for the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones but ofc that didn’t really happen
I reckon the original 2 sets were probably my first Lego sets as a kid. I don’t really buy Lego anymore, but I may have to pick this one up for nostalgia’s sake
I don’t really get Lego anymore, but I’ll definitely be getting this I had the originals as one of my first Lego sets, and I missed out on the previous remake of the dropship set
When this leaked a few months ago, all we knew was that there were going to be rebels and storm troopers. I was really hoping to see a seasonal set like last years but instead, have a festive Tantive that could connect to the diorama hallway that we got. This would’ve reminded me of the classic LSW TCS Easter eggs with the bathing stormtroopers on the Death Star
These original two sets are my favorite sets of all time. I am really excited for this but disappointed the Rebel scout speeder got downsized. And I really wish one of the Rebels had a red shirt to match Lego SW TCS. I reaasallly wish the speeder was bigger and it came with a redshirt Rebel
I think this is the best anniversary piece of the anniversary wave, if that makes sense. It’s a great set that feels like if you had to pick one set to be the only 25th set, it would be this one. Though not the best set with the 25th logo on it.
Correct me if I’m wrong here but I think if a set number starts with 40, it might be a gift with purchase, i could be wrong but that’s how the droid carrier was too
its a nice little revisit of the two sets, both of which I had, but it lacks some of the iconics of the original. We are missing a shadow trooper and we keep loosing seats. I love the look of it, but I won't be getting this one. haha
Where does it say that this set will only be on shelves for 3 months? Brick tap / brickhound got data that it should be 15 months, and it doesnt look like a christmas set either, which the falcon diorama actually was
I am for sure buying this pack. I need more storm troopers for my Star Destroyer. I have the one in the set plus 2 others from another set. But there are no affordable ways to build Storm Troopers. I dont need hundreds but enough to make a ship feel complete.
I feel like this imperial dropship should have at least 4 seats at the rear (like 2 on the right and 2 on the left) to be truely interesting from a tactical POV. Why sending an entire flying vehicle to deploy only 2 soldiers, when a ship like this could deploy 4 or 6 of them? Also I don't understand why the pilot wears a stormtrooper armor himself. Is he supposed to go outside and fight with the other ones? Stormtroopers easily get killed on the battlefield, but if the pilot gets killed, the entire ship is lost.
Honestly I remember getting the original battle kit back in 2007 or 2008. The rebel attack speeder has come a long way I very much prefer the modern design. As for the imperial drop ship, okay now that I sorta have an issue with it. First off I do think the pilot seat is nice, however I do miss the original design when it came to the playability. The original featured technic pieces and the rear tails folded upwards to let down the trooper seats. Overall love the review
The original version of the Rebel Speeder is one of my most nostalgic Lego Sets. Even if this is an inferior copy, I still really want to get a copy for nostalgia's sake.
Personally im not a fan of this set being a limited run set, unless they plan to release a different rebel/stormtrooper bp. Also, while i also love the design of the scout speeder, i do wish it was elongated a bit more, maybe enough for 1 more seat in the body so you can keep the 3rd trooper in there instead of in the turret.
A BP these days goes for $20 which gets you 4 minifigs. This 2 in 1 is $40 and will get you six, the math’s just not mathing for me. Also, having this on shelves for such a short time is really dumb imo. That said, it does look really nice and nostalgic for us long time fans, definitely waiting for a deal.
Oof, this ones a toughie for me. I like it, but I really was hoping for a set that would be great for army building as I dont have many rebel troops and my normal storm troopers could use more numbers too. I think for 40 bucks i would have preferred only one vehicle, the drop ship, but with with an extra spot for another trooper and more minifigs on both sides.
It further puzzles me why Lego continues to not change the mold of the stormtrooper helmet to the old one, almost every Star Wars fan says this new mold sucks
i want to see what someone does with four of that drop ship. but then i want to see an actually good looking imperial drop ship (just to then have it get shot down by a rebel aa turret
I understand that we wanna include women but…what women here care if the empire sends women out to die for them or not? I guess equality is the goal🤷♂️😂 3:36

This would’ve reminded me of the classic LSW TCS Easter eggs with the bathing stormtroopers on the Death Star

Imperial Dropship: *This* is brilliant
Rebel Speeder: But I like *this*

These original two sets are my favorite sets of all time. I am really excited for this but disappointed the Rebel scout speeder got downsized. And I really wish one of the Rebels had a red shirt to match Lego SW TCS. I reaasallly wish the speeder was bigger and it came with a redshirt Rebel
people will hate but at least they are still Lego Star Wars sets today, I like this set.
Not bad. I like the look of both. The Dropship can be modded to carry four troopers and might even have a position for side gunners.
Way more excited for this than the sail barge tbh. Can't wait to get my hands on it
Yeah that Rebel Scout Speeder is PERFECT. Sick as hell, reminds me of something I would see in the old Battlefront games
Something about the shape of that dropship reminds me of a Dewback.
The 08 Imperial drop ship was the first Lego Star Wars I remember getting as a kid.
Man i really wanted to have some more old school Rebels/Clone's this set will be amazing on sale! i probably will pick up 4 sets if possible
I think the Rebel Speeder is a reference to the Star Wars Battlefront (2004) Rebel Combat Speeder, particularly with the side engines
The 2008 rebel battlepack was my first lego star wars set
I think this is the best anniversary piece of the anniversary wave, if that makes sense. It’s a great set that feels like if you had to pick one set to be the only 25th set, it would be this one. Though not the best set with the 25th logo on it.
Imagine Katie's reaction if she knew that her droid was turned into a lego minifigure. Basically meaning that she was made in lego.
Correct me if I’m wrong here but I think if a set number starts with 40, it might be a gift with purchase, i could be wrong but that’s how the droid carrier was too
Wondering what MOCs people will make using the pieces.
its a nice little revisit of the two sets, both of which I had, but it lacks some of the iconics of the original. We are missing a shadow trooper and we keep loosing seats. I love the look of it, but I won't be getting this one. haha
That 2008 rebel battle pass was my first ever Lego set.
This is a proud day for the 501st. We got a real physical QT-KT figure. Truly a great day.
Where does it say that this set will only be on shelves for 3 months? Brick tap / brickhound got data that it should be 15 months, and it doesnt look like a christmas set either, which the falcon diorama actually was
Congrats on your engagement, David!
I remember having the old ones as a kid. Barely into the fifth grade.
I am for sure buying this pack. I need more storm troopers for my Star Destroyer. I have the one in the set plus 2 others from another set. But there are no affordable ways to build Storm Troopers. I dont need hundreds but enough to make a ship feel complete.
0:40 is literally me trying to explain to my family why i spent 100 dollars on an R2-D2 statue just for the minifigure (Darth Malak is historic)
Be aware that's there also a 8th figure, stored in a book called: Visual Dictionary Updated Version ...
10$ more for 2 minifigs less...ouch. thats Not a Solid deal tbh
The original version of the Rebel Speeder is one of my most nostalgic Lego Sets. Even if this is an inferior copy, I still really want to get a copy for nostalgia's sake.
I like this set but it’s odd they did this as a nostalgia set. When in 2020 they already remade the imperial drop ship.
Are the 25th anniversary sets really all disappearing at the end of 2024?
Honestly this should've been two sets. They could've included the Rebel Engineer or Rebel Friend, making it four Minifigures.
I think it should have included 8 mini-figures I mean the droid and clone one had Like over 9 minifigures
The glazing is crazzzzy
i want to see what someone does with four of that drop ship. but then i want to see an actually good looking imperial drop ship (just to then have it get shot down by a rebel aa turret
I understand that we wanna include women but…what women here care if the empire sends women out to die for them or not? I guess equality is the goal🤷♂️😂 3:36
And don’t worry I will experience this set when I get it I’ll enjoy it I love it I’ll use it a lot
May be a stupid question but the 25th anniversary sets that don’t have exclusive mini figures like the mini ships, I can still get them next year right?
What’s the price
