I cant recomend HI3 enough. If you liked the storytelling of Genshin, if you liked the memes of Star Rail and the combat of ZZZ, then you'll love Honkai
Hi3 has their mechanics down pat. Characters arent such novelties as in Genshin and Star rail, materials actually give meaningful rewards asides from just character upgrades (Full ass 5 star characters and weapons/stigmatas). Character models are on peak, the community is only horny 50 percent of the time. Lore is great, the storyline is literally so peak (think of stuff like bioshock and mass effect). They're not afraid to talk about actual issues like survivors guilt, suicide, isolationism. The atmosphere and feeling of the game is so unique that it fits Hi3rd perfectly and characters feel like such real people, they arent just boiled down to 2-3 personality traits and designs, they have development and so many sides to them other than face value. also did i mention no rng bullshit, cause no rng bullshit that seems to be in every mihoyo game. *Now let me rant for a bit here, skip if you want* It seems like Honkai impact is the only trace of what old mihoyo was, it was about tech otaku's saving the world. A game made by absolute weebs, they knew what would be good game feedback and took it, constant community interaction and their ability to share their process was what helped them become great. Now with their arsenal of games coming out it seems HI3 will be getting less attention and potentially a shutdown in a couple years, their new part 2 storyline that they hoped new players would enjoy ended up flopping and a multitude of players are quitting due to the lack of attention that the game has. The future of mihoyo is obviously going to be more materialistic like they've always been. And a game thats barely getting attention and interest would not be very valued. I love mihoyo, not hoyoverse. Honkai impact 3rd is a game they dont hold back on, they add snarky comments and curse words into small pieces of flavor text. Genshin and star rail are made to please the fans and never get any critism. Honkai can be brutal, characters die of cancer, physical assault is insinuated, school children are shown to be bullied. Honkai tells a story of when heros are needed. What im saying is enjoy the game while its still here, because its a journey of a lifetime. I wasn't expecting to cry after watching this... damn. This is so good, and I love some of the scenes and character choices you made, like grouping up characters with different versions/iterations across games, or putting the Archons together and following them up with Dainsleif. A lot of thought went into this beyond just how to transition from one scene to the next in the cleanest/flashiest way. I can't believe it took so long for UA-cam to recommend this to me. Awesome work, seriously.
