@@JohnnyComelately-eb5zv True, Klopp most probably wouldn't have but he also didn't have a job when he took over so we don't know, & never will, what he may or may not have done in the same situation. I also don't think it's overly relevant or matters either tbh. Feyenoord don't want to let Slot go so this is a tactical move by him & forces their hand. It is what it is. It's also a clever & ruthless move & I personally like that quality in a would-be manager. I understand why Feyenoord & their fans don't appreciate it as neither would I if I was in their shoes. However, they knew this was coming & are just trying to play hard ball to get as much money as possible out of Liverpool. I also find Slot's directness & honesty refreshing tbh & I think we need to move away from comparing him to Klopp asap & asking "what would Klopp do?" as what Klopp would is leave. That chapter has almost closed & as great a guy as Klopp is, he's a one-off, so we need to be pragmatic & not immediately start burdening Slot with the unnecessary baggage of comparing him with Klopp every 5 minutes before he's even walked through the door. It can become an unhelpful habit which will negatively effect his adjustment to the club & role etc, that also makes the transition that much harder & ultimately benefits no one.
If Ten Hag keeps his job, next Liverpool v Man. Utd match might be called " Battle Of The Baldies ".

As a Feyenoord fan I’m fine of him speaking it in publicly. We all know he’s dreams and we want to make him he’s dream come true. I rather see him leave and gets he’s dreamjob then stays and be unhappy about it. He did amazing for us and I wish him all the best.

Have a good feeling about this fella. When this first broke the first thing I wanted was to hear him speak. After a few minutes that's when I began to get excited. He has charisma. And I then learned he is loved by his players (and the fans), and makes them better players. His style is attacking, high press. This man is a ball of energy and precisely what we need post Klopp.
I'll tell you as a half Dutch, half Scouser. Feyenoord and Liverpool fan, Slot is good. He hasn't worked with the best of the best at Feyenoord (like Ten Hag did with Ajax)
He's taken players to a different level from where they were at.
Beelen and Wieffer were a division lower and they are 2 of the best players at Feyenoord.
I'm sad to see Slot leave Feyenoord, as he's taken them to a way higher level, but it was bound to happen.
Really happy if he does join us as a Liverpool fan, I think he'll do really well.
He breathes football. He is an ultimate motivator and tactician. And he always remains calm and smiles.
He has the full support from the Feyenoord supporters to make this move.

Good for him. He’s pushing the move and that means LFC will pay less of a compensation fee.
I trust Edwards and his team so I trust they are making the right decision.

It is still a risk, although any new manager deserves time to demonstrate if he is the right fit. My concern is that none of the managers that have been discussed as Klopp's replacement really check all the necessary boxes. I think we need to be realistic about the manager and the squad (which still needs renewal in defence and possibly the attack too).
@@CaminoAir Slot’s managerial record is very good and his style of play and formation is similar to Klopp. Although he’s from the Dutch league, I can’t see why he can’t be successful at LFC. He gets to work with much better players too.

My biggest concern is that he aint got the x factor attracting big signings like JK did, and a major rebuild is needed as i suspect alot of players might leave and fsg aint gonna pass slot a warchest so i have my reservations although i fully support him

He doesnt need a lot to work with. He bought couple 400k players and sent them to conference league final. Every season we lost more than half our squad but he always got them at full steam in no time. He will bring both the Prem and CL to Anfield. Mark my words.
@@josephrelph5235his right back plays as inverted wingback. Leftback as a wing back. But thats just because this season those were the best roles for the best left and right back. His tactics are fluid based on the strengths of his players. Our right back scored a LOT of goals this season.

Liverpool fan since 1984, Feyenoord has been my second club since moving to Rdam. I was gutted when Spurs said they are interested a year ago. As usual, Spurs bottled it. I think he may be fine in Liverpool, just hope he is given some time like Kloop got when he arrived.
He seems very honest. I hope he is honest enought to call out players who put in a bad performance, and call out the whole team when needed.

I like his passion. Getting a manager to come in right after Klopp we werent going to get our first and second option. No one wants that burden as you see with other clubs after losing generational managers. But I think Arne can usher in this new era.
