One never knows what to expect when Jay's logo appears in the notifications , and this time it was a very cheerful joyride . So glad with the Bell's "All" option 🙏
Is it possible to do an Interstellar remix only on the model:cycle, or would it be easier on the model:sampler, or on neither or the two ? I'm looking for a groovebox/sequencer-synth, which could do some cinematographic music, if you know something like that, let me know please
Awesome video . I just picked up a Cycles , having great fun with it although I’m never going to produce anything up to this standard ! In fact , I like it so much I’m almost tempted to pick up a model samples to go with it , even though I have an Electribe for sampling stuff .......these model machines are just so easy to use for a beginner like myself , yet still feel powerful enough .
Hi Jay, this sounded amazing! I wanted to ask you... is there a way to connect a guitar loop pedal to the Cycles? I've seen videos of the Digitakt with a Ditto pedal all working together to create loops and i'd like to attempt the same but with the Cycles since it's way cheaper! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Does the MC have velocity control on each pad? Im getting a consistent level throughtout with no variation (unlike hte guitar)? This makes it a bit monotone.
This one’s not available on an album at the moment. Maybe in the future! Thinking of setting up a Patreon-type thing where people can get the wavs right away.
You just need to make music a LOT. Like you can see, Jay for example makes a lot of tracks and that's the key in developing when it comes to any creative work. Don't sit on your track sketches, finish them, put them boldly online, ask for feedback, rinse and repeat. And remember, it takes time, but every bit you'll learn will be super satisfying and inspiring, that's a promise. :) But never ever think YOU can't do something, you can, it just takes a lot of work. :)
you can compare yourself to Mozart and say the same thing. Point is, you'll never be as good as the greats initially, but eventually if you stick at it you may surpass them!
Hey Jay, this is great! I have the OT MKII and I got it to combine it with the Bass guitar as well! Love it very much and I am soon releasing an EP. I am also very much looking into the Cycles for the FM sounds! It's nice to see there are more guys out there, that go down that road of combining both worlds!
i want this thing for christmas or my birthday next year. wish me luck. also the jam is super good, this thing sounds amazing. im super new to synths and i think it would be good.
I also wonder about audio quality- I found Model Samples to have less than ideal clarity and “oomph” - all gain tied to the distortion in a way that muddies sounds up once you have more than 2 sounds at same time.
Sounding great. I was tempted to buy a Model:C but will probably get a Digitone again instead. That said, no one will make a mistake by buying any of the Elektron instruments.
Cool jam! Do you have any looper pedal? I think it could've worked very well for this setup to put long bass riff into loop! Also bass sound is a bit dull compared to Cycles, I feel like it needed some effects or something. Keep up good work! Waiting for next video!
I’m hungrily consuming every Model Cycles video I can find, and this one is amazing. What an awesome pairing of FM and Bass!
Love the unique timing of the chord progression. Keeps it very interesting. The bass is an awesome pairing with the Cycles!

What exactly does that line 6 pedal do for the elektron? Beginner here

This is extremely good, the bass mixing with the FM is an awesome blend
Cool jam. Yes, basses & guitars compliment nicely with synths and grooveboxes. Well done!
Wow that’s impressive
awesome. thank *YOU*
thanks for the inspiration
This one gets a thumbs up for the bass playing!
Y E S ! My hero - my secret Grandmaster - The Professor is so DEFF. at it again ! Thanx Jay - for always fill my emotive glass to the brim ! 🥰
Those bass chords at the end are gorgeous (as is the guitar!). Reminds me of Tortoise in that part (and yes, that frozen reverb is lush)
Very Squarepusher. Nice work!
Nice man groovin
Nice jam, I'd buy this track if you released it!
synths and bass... my favourite combo... great jam as always 🤟
Awesome live! I indeed love how cold fm tones couple with warm bass guitar sounds. I also use this approach.

Yeah, it has velocity control. You set it in the pad settings, I believe.
really cool
loved it
holy fuck
Excellent video ! ...cant believe it took me so long to view it..especially like your editing explanations ! very helpful..thanks for indulging us !

Really awesome. Amazing bass line, you are making the machine sound human. Real musician aproach on machine. Loved it. Thanks!
This is just brilliant, love it - annoying that I'll never be this good!

put guitar thru a pedal - it does not fit - guitar needs a lot more oomph - distortion maybe? dunno but it needs processing...

Really liked this, love the bass and your timing with it!
Guess there's no mis'ess to stop that gear coming:) Saw an acoustic G there, wonder how that one fits into your sound.. give us some
Great jam! Not complaining in the least however......
You should try a more chorusy New Order style of bass sometime perhaps?
Great idea!
Oh this is amazing! Really loved the harmony 😍
Listening the damn bass line again... its amazing really.
Cool man, always dig it when you weigh in on stuff.
Reeally happy to see this channel taking off Jay. Great work
OK, That's all I can take! I moving to Canada! #AirMattress
It’s nice here
@@JayHosking Ive been to BC twice. Love the Othello Tunnels and Kelowna was peace as well!
Thank you for sharing. You got a good groove going on this one!
You should collaborate with Tycho!
Dope video! I love Jaguar basses :D

Yeah, they're all wonderful. Trying to track down a Monomachine with keybed in the local area right now!
@@JayHosking I was lucky to get MNM mk2+ and MDM-2UW recently, both in great shape, def becoming collector items from what they are saying.
Always a treat to wake up to new content from you. Rad as always.
Nice. I hear some Plaid vibes here.

What amp/cab are you using on the hx stomp? Sounds good
Ampeg drive, I think? And thanks! I turned the room reflections up to get it sounding very live.
Jay Hosking yes! Room reflections are vital on those cabs. Great work as usual :)

I'm out of the looper game, but I could potentially use either an Empress pedal or the Deluge. Food for thought!
