I initially had mixed feelings about THE KINDLY ONES, maybe because it's so long and so dense, filled with so many prior references. It's definitely the volume that most requires your full attention. I also initially disliked the drawing style being "cartoon-ier" than the others, but now I've come to appreciate it.
