Have you sorted a blade tip protector for 520iHE3 , resently bought a m/c and see it will take some knocks . You have some good video's out .

Would you recommend battery powered tools over petrol? Do they perform just as good as petrol?

Depends on which job you are completing pal - general maintenance work battery all day every day. Trimmers, strimmers, blowers in general maintenance are brilliant, quieter, lighter, more user friendly, eco, cheaper to run (after initial overhead). Only thing is fuel mowers and bigger equipment I still believe is very much fuel driven.. same with any big hedge reductions or very thick cut knock down strimming jobs could be fuel too.. but battery still handles it. I have a few reduction and clear up jobs on my channel which show the battery equipment in a great light 💪🏽😄

Do you use the small trimmer much? I was considering getting one, but I find the HE3 is so versatile and can be used it in most situations.

The HE3 covers most jobs but it does get used probably 10% of the time. Always handy to have, but there’s not many hedges where I can only use a short reach

How long does the battery last for that type of job and what battery model to you recommend for the Husqvarna 520iH ?

    • @JayRockGroundsMaintenance
      @JayRockGroundsMaintenance  2 роки тому +1

This was the BLI200, they are the best for balance of weight/ performance. You’ll get a good 4-5 hours out of a new battery, maybe longer if using ECO mode. Sometimes you can pick up some cheap on eBay for backup batteries 😄

@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance No worries mate. One thing I might add is that conifers can suffer from conifer mite. It's not always hard cutbacks that cause that browning. I used to order chemical from the states but, since leaving E.U can't get it anymore. What's the ladder you are using? I've only got a small van and it's a pain in the Harris to keep loading full ladders👍

Great job, nice and tidy, well done.
I'm investing in a milwaukee m18 brushless leaf blower with 2, 5a.h batteries and growing my cordless equipment from their.
I'm fed up of smelling of 2 stroke and feeling lightheaded at times, especially when on the ladders. I'm also fed up of the noise, it's driving me insane.

Nice job again Sam as always. I think you have made my mind up on going battery at last!
Just had a look at what you used for this particular job and nearly fell to the floor at the price of the batteries 😳.
Which battery did you use on this hedge?
    Cheers, Barry.
P.S bit the bullet and ordered the weibang scarifier as it had 300 Smackers off 😀 when I went back to have a look.

Hi Barry! Thank you very much, that’s very kind of you😄🙌🏽. Oh yeah it soon adds up ! I used a BLI 200 on this hedge, ran one completely flat and the second battery never even lost a bar - a BLI 300 would still have had 2/3 bars left I reckon. Also the hedge could have been done on Eco which I wasn’t using 😂.
I built my collection up slowly, and have now purchased the 940x second hand which is a good back up, used here - ua-cam.com/video/9_zDi7f0BIw/v-deo.html

I think I will have to build up slowly.
I don't suppose you know if all the batteries are compatible with all the battery lines or not?
Heading to my local supplier at weekend to investigate my options.
