Over the years I came across their kit in magazines and always wished I had had some of their testers. I was in a electronics shop in recent times here in Melbourne and I bought the ESR tester and the semiconductor tester.😀
I didn't realise Peak (clues in the name) electronics are in Buxton. Living 90 minutes away in Derby (not quite a short walk) I can always pop up there if I want my testers servicing. Me and the wife are always going up there to see shows at the Palace or staying weekends at the Grinlow caravan site. Buxton is where we (my wife and I) first met, love the place.
Well that's handy! Do they put the completed work through your letterbox? The best service I ever had was from Bremi UK. I phoned them one morning about ordering some RF power transistors. They said one of their reps would be in my area that afternoon and he would accept C.O.D. He duly arrived, with the transistors.🙂
I have a Peak ESR too, but also have a cheap Chinese ESR as the Peak struggles with low values . Usually a 1 uf cap will come back as part damaged or in circuit .
Ah Michael. My peak meters probes broke from use. It has a banana plug quick coupling and that little piece with the crocodile clip needs replacing. I don't know where to get replacements
@michaeldranfield7140 was wondering if there was a follow up to the fiat 500 instrument cluster. - I have two orange LEDs on the left hand side that are gloWing dimly, not when indicating….
you need to test all the SMD leds , preferably with a analogue mulitmeter on the highest resistance range as this will make the led light up very faintly, any that dont light up and exhibit reverse leakage need to be replaced .
What was the name of that Amateur radio shop at the top of the road going out of Matlock to Chesterfield. I could never afford anything just used to go in and drool 😀
md@digifixltd.co.uk. But its patchy at the moment and the landline is off also due to someone cutting through cables digging a hole in the road not that far from peak electronics actually, also for some reason my computer wont reply to Gmail addresses and I haven't found anyone to help me sort out why yet .
imagine if someone posted their TV through your letter box with a note stuck to the screen!! :)
Gives a whole new meaning to 'letterbox' format😂.
To get a telly through Michaels lettrbox It would have to be a Casio pocket TV or a Sony Watchman at a push 😄
Very handy. I use an ESR meter (modified with remote control footswitch) and a semiconductor tester from Peak.
There's an idea, optional foot switch.
I had already arranged this last week so Jeremy know they were coming.
Another excellent video, thank you for sharing it with us. When the tester is mended do they post it back through your letterbox too?

That’s funny Michael who’s on the other side neighbour RS components 😂👍🇦🇺
Now that really WOULD be handy !!

I have the ESR tester & Lan tester great little units - great company !
Maybe you could record a look inside, interview or two.
I have the ESR and SEMICONDUCTOR testers from peak brilliant bits of kit thanks Michael 😊
So Lucky to have good Neibours , is there a Peak Video coming up :-))

I did not know they were British good one👍
Me neither! I had assumed they were a Chinese firm. Sign of the times!
Nothing Chinese about these, designed and made just down the road from me.
They probably have a dumpster full of discarded devices on their back yard, good for spare parts.
I like living near Peak Nordic. I never go there though.

Have a lot of peak test equipment
Jeremy is a really nice guy who has been doing this a long time , I once did a video of his very first tester .
Ok, I am very envious now Michael. :^)
Thats very handy😂
quite a famous company really, I've known about their test gear for ever
